Chapter Four:
"Hey Max! Why are you so red?" Max's friend, Lili, asked with a concerned expression.
Max looked up. "Oh, uh, no reason." He answered fast.
It had been a week since Victor and Max's date. They were texting back to back through all that time. Max was honestly happy, like hell he would say it though.
"I see, well you should totally go on a double date with me!" Lili proclaimed with a smile.
Max blushed. "But, I... I don't have a date." He said to her in a weak defense.
Lili giggled. "Just ask anyone! Please?" She pleaded with her puppy dog eyes.
The boy awkwardly played with his sweater before nodding slowly. "Alright.... I'll try..." He promised.
She squealed. "Oh thank you! Meet me at the station tomorrow at 1:00 pm, Kay?" She didn't wait for an answer before she ran off with a squee.
Max gulped and only thought of one person he could ask.
After classes ended, Max waited by the front gate. He waited and waited until he spotted the guy he was looking for.
Just as Victor was about to pass by, Max grabbed onto his sleeve. He looked down, "Max? What do you nee-"
"Go on a double date with me."
Victor blinked before smirking. "Oh-ho~ You're asking me out?" He asked with a low laugh.
Max flushed red. "No! I mean yes! I, ugh! My friend told me she needed to go on a double date with me! But I had no one else to ask who weren't girls or in a relationship!"
The senior grinned. "Well alright. If you want to go on a date with me that badly, I'll go~ what time?"
Amber eyes stared into hazel. "You're just playing with me, jerk." Max huffed. He turned his head slightly. "Tomorrow at one.... Pick me up at 12:30...." He mumbled before quickly rushing off to hide his face.
"So cute!" Victor mused shamelessly before walking home.

Max stared at himself in the mirror and sighed softly. He had on a white tank top, sky blue shawl, and sandy brown capris. Lili said they were going to the boardwalk.
He was so busy with staring at his pale face he didn't hear his sister answering the door.
"Oh! You're my brother's date?!" Charlotte screeched with a giddy ring to it.
Max turned white. Well, whiter, and ran down the stairs. He forgot they were both in the same grade. "Ch-Charlie!" He stammered.
Victor looked up and blinked with a sparkle of excitement in his eyes. "You look adorable."
"You always say that, dummy!" Max hissed.
Charlotte giggled. "Aww! I didn't realize you went on many dates with him!"
Max blushed more. "That's not what I meant!!! We've only been on one date before this!" He defended.
His sister rolled her eyes playfully. "Have fun!" She basically shoved him out the door.
Once out of the house, Max slowly met Victor's gaze. "Sh...Shall we go...?" He asked. "Not that I'm excited! I just want this over with!" He added weakly.
Victor nodded. "Of course of course. Let's go."
Sometime as they walked down the street, their fingers became intertwined and Max didn't pull away.
They walked in comfortable silence until they heard a bubbly voice scream: "Maxie! Omg! You actually brought someone!!!"
Max tugged his hand away. "Y-Yeah... This is Victor..." He introduced albeit quickly.
Lili bounded up to them with her boyfriend in tow. "I know about you! All the girls gush about you all the time! Besides me~" she held her boyfriend, Kyle's, hand.
Victor smiled charmingly. "Ah, how embarrassing." He said and held out his hand. "It's nice to meet you."
They shook hands and off they went on their date.
On the boardwalk Max and Victor were buying ice cream for everyone. Max held his and Lili's vanilla cones, and Victor held his chocolate fudge cone and Kyle's rainbow sherbet.
They started to walk back to the other two when fireworks started to go off. Max watched in awe and smiled softly.
Victor wasn't watching the fireworks. He was staring at Max's serene face. How he wanted to kiss him.
To hold him.
Max...
He gently used his free hand to slowly lift Max's chin up so they could look at each other. "Max... Would you be my boyfriend?"
Max's breath hitched his throat. "B...Boyfriend?" He asked a bit unsure.
Victor nodded. "Yes."
Max gulped and shyly averted his eyes. "I... I am not sure I would be a good boyfriend..." His face was illuminated by the bright lights in the sky.
The older male chuckled softly. "Well we'll have to see." He purred softly.
Tsundere-kun bit his lip nervously before looking up to meet him in the eyes. "I... Then... Okay..." He breathed.
"Glad."
With that: their lips met under the roaring skies.
