Epilogue
"Get your hands off my delicious waffles." I scolded my husband. Like a deer caught in the headlights, he grinned and returned to the newspaper he was reading.
"Couldn't I get at least a bite?" He pleaded, giving me his best beseeching look. I had to glance away if I didn't want to be influenced by his strong charms.
"No, you've eaten yours up. These belong to me." I moved to another stool beside the kitchen island and pulled my plate of waffles to my side.
A familiar mop of black hair appeared next to my husband. "Mom, don't be so selfish." Blake, my first son scolded me.
I laughed. "Baby, I'm not selfish, your dad is."
Philip raised a brow at me and leaned to pat Blake on his head. "Blake, don't worry about your mother, I'll cure her selfishness."
My cheeks heated. Before I could react, my little boy parted his lips. "Dad, how are you going to do that?"
Philip glanced over at me with darkened eyes. "Don't worry about that, your mom will be a better person when I'm done with her."
Blake jumped up and down with a wide grin. "Yay! Dad, cure mom's selfishness." He skipped out of the kitchen repeating the same words till his voice got drowned somewhere.
"So." I started nervously as Philip abandoned the newspaper and cornered me.
"Let's see how far your selfishness will take you." He teased, brushing the side of my neck with his lips and tracing the curve of my waist with his fingers.
On impulse, I pressed my back against his chest and tilted my neck to the right, allowing him explore every inch of my neck with his torturous lips.
Philip led me away from the stool and lifted me up so I could sit on the surface of the island. When his fingers brushed my exposed thigh, I hissed and bit my lower lip as I stared into his eyes reflection the same burning desire.
A couple of minutes later, our clothes were scattered all over the kitchen as we got lost in each other.
The fact that our six year old son could walk in at any time didn't tick us one bit. All that mattered was where we were in each others arms.
"I love you." Philip whispered against my forehead, breathing heavily.
"I love you too."
We bent to pick up our clothes pooled around us. I slipped back into my white T-shirt and a black yoga pant while my husband pulled on his grey joggers and a white T-shirt.
"Remind me to take this somewhere else next time." I mumbled, eyeing my husband who started pouring himself a glass of water.
He took a sip. "Why?"
I shook my head. "There's no way I'm having sex in the kitchen again."
Like seriously, someone could have walked into us and be scarred for eternity.
Philip grinned mischievously and poured out another glass of water for me. "You've said that over twenty times, yet you still..."
I glared at my husband and he waggled his brows before returning to glimpse at the newspaper before him.
After taking a large gulp of my water, I burped loudly, making Philip observe me in mock horror.
"That's nasty."
I stuck out my tongue just as Blake ran into the kitchen in my direction.
"Sweetheart, You shouldn't run around like that, you could hurt yourself." I crouched, welcoming Blake into my arms.
He pouted. "I'm sorry, mom."
A smile formed on my lips as I ruffled his dark hair and gazed into his sea-blue eyes. "It's okay darling. Now, why were you in such a hurry?"
Blake freed himself from me. "Uncle Sebastian is here!"
My eyes shifted to my husband who had frozen in his seat. Even if he had reconciled with his best friend, not everything returned to normal obviously.
"Okay honey, go tell him we'll be with him soon."
Blake nodded and danced out of the kitchen. I went over to my husband and draped my hand around his shoulder, he relaxed under my touch.
"You look tense, why?"
I knew exactly why he looked that way but I still had to ask. Their friendship had crashed against the rocks after that day at the beach. Even if my husband tried to be civil with his best friend, nothing was right between them. I perceived that I had to intervene since their fight was over me.
"I don't want to see him." My husband mumbled like a six-year old and I had to fight back my laughter but a smile lingered. "Is anything funny?" My husband was gazing at me with a weird look on his face.
"No, nothing is."
Philip nodded and extricated himself from the stool, dumping the newspaper on the kitchen island. "Let's get this over, shall we?" He extended his hand towards me.
I rejected his offer. "We're not getting anything over, you're going to put in your heart into this. And, no one-word answers."
Philip frowned. "Fine."
I stepped closer to him and tugged on both sides of his cheeks with my fingers. "Smile." And he did, leaning to place a kiss on my lips.
We located Sebastian and Stephen in our living room. They were smiling at something Blake said to them.
"Mom!" My son called out, drawing the twins' attention to me and my husband who tried maintaining a clear face.
Stephen walked over to me. "Florence! It's been such a long time." He hugged me briefly and gazed at Philip. "Hey man." While they did their guy handshake and greetings, I edged closer to Sebastian who still hadn't left the comfort of the white sofa beneath him. He probably was intimidated by my husband who was standing a couple of feet away, watching us like a hawk. I made a face at Philip and he smiled, taking away his eyes from me and Sebastian.
I placed my hand on my waist. "How are things with you?"
Sebastian shrugged. "Things are going just well, except..." He drawed out.
I regarded him curiously. "Except for what?"
He said nothing and lowered his head in deep thought. "Let's say I miss a certain best friend of mine." Sebastian looked in Philip's and Stephen's direction and I joined him stare at the duo, sympathetic towards the trace of sadness shown on his face. I watched Philip sweep an excited Blake into his arms while uttering some words to Stephen.
"He'll come around, I'm sure." I responded.
"Hey man." My husband's voice sounded beside me.
Sebastian got off the sofa. "Hey."
Sensing the awkwardness, I stole Blake from my husband and stalked away with Stephen to the balcony.
Blake tugged at my T-shirt. "Mom, can you put me down now?"
Stephen and I exchanged amused glances. "What's the magic word?" I peered down at my son. He pursed his lips and thought of the right word I needed.
"Please?" He spoke uncertainly.
I laughed and set Blake on his feet. He seized the opportunity and ran back inside the house.
"He's so adorable, isn't he?"
"Not at all. He's a little rascal." I laughed out my response.
Stephen grinned. "That's not the response I expected."
"Somedays, he just chooses to run around the house, tipping things over. He broke one of my favorite vases like that. But what could I possibly have done? It's not like I can ground him or something."
Stephen shook his head in agreement. "I think he took after Philip. Philip was a handful when we were little boys, always pulling silly pranks on innocent people."
I clutched this new piece of information like my life depended on it. "Really? How come he never told me about it? Not fair."
"Would you share any of your embarrassing childhood memories with me?"
I shook my head as a few embarrassing pictures of my childhood dived into my mind. "Of course not."
"Then, it's fair enough." Stephen ended with a smile.
I agreed with him on that one. We stood in silence watching the little activities going on beneath us. The trees fluttering under the evening air with a couple of leaves straying to their base at intervals. Above, a couple of birds flew past with gentle flaps of their wings and for a brief moment, I wondered what it would feel like to be a bird.
"Are you seeing someone?"
Stephen looked at me with a puzzled expression. "Yeah, why?"
"I remember you telling me ranting on and on about why relationships are complicated."
Stephen smiled, a smile I would have mistaken for Sebastian's had I not known the slight differences between the two of them. "Relationships are complicated until you find the right person." He stared back at the horizon, leaving me pondering on his words.

Yay! This book is officially over! Even though I find it a little hard expressing myself in writing, I'm grateful to everyone who has been with me through the second phase of the journey we started together. I can't fail to remember the countless, numerous constructive criticisms and appreciative messages, all of them put together help build me up to this level.
So, I've started the third and final part of the 'My Boss' series and it's titled 'Some Like It Tangled' and it's finally published. Good news is that it's in the teen-fiction category!
Once again, thank you!
I'd like to start a question and answer section below to clear a few uncertainties about this book.
1. Why did Florence forgive Philip so easily? I hate that, ugh!
Every human has their own way of dealing with issues. To some, it might take a year to forget and forgive, some others more, some less.
The important point here is, Florence here is a softie at heart (I've hinted that a couple of times in the book if you were observant). Don't forget, she and Philip has been through a lot of things together and while I'm not justifying cheating, I'm only saying, no one's above mistakes, Philip made a terrible mistake, but they were both mature enough to push their issues behind them and move on. You certainly weren't expecting Florence to throw knives at him or start some dramatic shit, as much as that would be nice, I hate drama.
2. Your book sucks!
Well, thanks. I've been getting a whole lot of crazy hate messages about my stories. You don't have to like every book on Wattpad. Im certain there are hundreds of books with poor grammar and punctuation but people still read them, so I'm wondering, what did my book do to those posting a lot of shit about it.
I'm gonna repeat, this is like my first work here on Wattpad but I can't apologize if it turned out way different than you expected.
3. WHAT ABOUT PETER AND ALICE?
Yes, Peter and Alice...Like I may have hinted, there's going to be three books in the series and the last one is 'Some Like It Tangled' which you can find by swiping past a page or two. In there, all unanswered questions and mysteries will be solved. And maybe Tamara may come back alive too. Lol.
Any other questions?
