26: Cheating Sister

So, this new chapter is for Candice. I know how much she ships Sebastian and  Florence so I wrote this chapter for her. I hope you enjoy it.

'Cheating Sister'

"How did you know about this?" I asked  Sebastian who was seated on the furry floor beside me in the living room. Tamara had gone to oversee the preparations made for her wedding coming up in a few days time, leaving me alone with Sebastian who supposedly came to check on us.

"It's everywhere on the news, in magazines, everywhere you could think off." He hooked his eyes eyes with mine shortly.

I heaved. This was expected of course. Everyone knows about me being Philip's girlfriend just because of those nosey people, the paparazzi who take random pictures of me everywhere I go to. Philip had even offered me some bodyguards to prevent them from molesting me but I declined, using 'it wasn't necessary' as an excuse. A lame one at that.

"Well, what can I do now, the news is already leaked out." I fiddled with the TV remote in my hand and accidentally pressed the power button which led to me turning off the television.

Sebastian groaned. "Why did you do that?"

"It was not intentional." I flippantly replied and tossed the remote to him. He held it but refused to turn the TV on.

"It was, I know how much you hate the Kardashians." He glared at me.

I glared back at him "Who even came up with that stupid show, it's so annoying, why would I want to keep up with the Kardashians?"

"Because they're popular." He replied, dumping the TV remote beside him.

"And who cares? Turn on the TV if you want." I retorted bitterly.

Sebastian wore that stupid grin on his face as he stared at me. "The Kardashians are the best."

"Shut up."

He chuckled. "Why, you love my mouth, don't you?"

I cringed as dirty thoughts welled up within me. "Ew...no."

"Tsk...tsk...now who has a dirty mind?"

I laughed without emotions. "Haha, not funny."

Before he could make a comeback, I pushed myself away from the floor and escaped into the kitchen. I heard him laughing and even if I knew it was aimed at me, I chose to ignore it. Instead, I reached for the highest cabinet above my head just for curiosity's sake.

I jumped up and down when I failed to reach the silver knob. In frustration, I huffed and searched for the kitchen stool which was somewhere behind the refrigerator. Don't ask me how it got there.

I climbed onto the stool and reached out, this time with more ease. Then, all of a sudden, the stool tilted to one side and I lost my balance and fell to the floor. The sharp pain I felt in my back made me dizzy so I remained on the floor while my head spun round and round.

Sebastian rushed into the kitchen. "Florence, what happened to you?"

I watched how concern spread all over his eyes as he knelt beside me.

"I fell off that stool." I nodded at the stool and crossed my arm over my forehead.

"That must have really hurt, can you walk?" He took my free hand in his and stroked it gently, while staring into the depths of my eyes.

"For now, I don't think I can."

Sebastian pulled me up carefully and placed an arm behind my back. I froze in apprehension of how close we were.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

He sighed. "Do you wish to lie there all day until your sister comes back and kills me for not taking good care of you?"

I beamed at him as I thought of what Tamara might do to him,  well, apart from killing him.

"Now, you find it funny." Sebastian gave me a dry look and swept me up in his arms before I could protest.

My heart rate picked up as my hand rested against his chest. I noticed that he took in a sharp intake of air as my hand touched his chest. I didn't know if I was reading too much into things, but I felt a fluttery feeling in my stomach as if butterflies were having a flying contest there.

I thought he would stop at the living room but he didn't. Instead, he bypassed it and started climbing the stairs.

"Where's your room?" Sebastian asked.

Too exhausted to make any snarky comments, I pointed him in the direction of my room.

When he entered my room, he whispered a 'wow' as he closed the door with his leg.

"Like what you see?" I asked, trying to hide my discomfort at still being in Sebastian's arms.

"Your room is beautiful." He spoke, never moving from where he was standing.

"Thank you. Now, can you please put me down?" I pleaded.

Sebastian transferred his gaze slowly to me and watched me closely. "You said you couldn't walk."

"Now I can, so?" I wriggled around in his arms but his grip was so strong that I could not extricate myself.

"Don't do that." His voice was a quite deeper, more like a growl as he lowered me to the floor.

My eyes stayed glued to him as I touched the floor with shaky legs.

"Why?" I whispered, clutching his shirt.

Something about this didn't feel right, mainly because I had a boyfriend, Philip. But other than that, I felt really good. Being this close to Sebastian started a new line of thoughts in my head.

He didn't reply so I turned around and tried taking steps to my bed but I ended up losing my balance again. I pulled Sebastian down with me and he somehow ended up on top me, his face mere inches from mine.

"Do you want to know why?" He demanded in a husky voice, placing his arms at either side of my body to transfer his full weight from me. I wondered why he didn't try to stand.

I gulped as Sebastian covered the distance between our faces.

His breath fanned my face as his lips brushed mine lightly. We both stared at each other, probably wondering what we were doing. His lips touched down on mine again, this time in a deeper kiss. My eyes rolled back in my head as I tasted the flavor of his lips. Strawberry. He tasted like strawberry.

His tongue demanded entrance into mouth and I consented, twirling my tongue around his in a sensual manner.

Sebastian pulled away from me but his eyes wandered to my chest. I noticed a button on my shirt had come undone and my bra was visible.

"This feels so wrong on so many levels." I mumbled and pushed him off me.

"I'm so sorry, Florence."

"Just get out." My voice quaked slightly. "Please."

"I'm sorry." He ran his fingers through his hair and walked out of my room, leaving me with my thoughts.

What is wrong with me?

💭💭💭

"Have you written out the names of the guests we're inviting?" My sister demanded.

"Yes, I have. Here they are." I handed a notepad to her.  She flipped through the pages and nodded in approval.

"Two hundred people seems just fine to me."

"That's a lot of people." I mumbled and stole a peek at Sebastian who was seated in a sofa with his head bent. He hadn't uttered  a word after our encounter earlier. I only hoped Tamara would not notice and start bugging him with questions.

"You've done a nice job here. I'll just send it to the printers so that they can make the invitation cards."

"It's no big deal. If you need help with that, ask me."

My sister gave me a strange look. "Did you hit your head somewhere?"

"W...what do you mean?" I stammered as I caught Sebastian's eyes boring into my soul.

"You're stammering? What's the matter Florence?" She turned to Sebastian whose face turned red in response.

"Nothing...nothing...something got stuck in my throat." I lied.

Tamara got off the sofa with the notepad I gave her. "I'll pretend I believe that. I'll  go get ready so that we can go visit mum."

I nodded and looked down at my body to see if I needed to wear new clothes. I had a peach chiffon top draped over my dark blue jean trousers. They were sufficient.

My phone rang and I swooped it off the floor beside me.

"Hey Beatrice."

"What ever happened to Tris? You're gradually forgetting all about me, Florence."

I sighed.

"No Tris, I'm not, it's just that a lot of things happened lately and I haven't been my self so..." I picked my retractable pen and played with it.

"Girl, I understand. With your mom hospitalized, I know how you feel."

Sebastian rose from the sofa and walked out of the sitting room.

I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. "No, you don't Tris. What I feel right now is beyond sadness."

"Do you want to talk about it?" Her voice came a little lower. .

I arched my brow in confusion. "But we're talking already."

"No, I mean over a couple of drinks."

"I'm not sure about that." I dragged my words.

Going to a bar means getting drunk. Getting drunk is one experience I'll never want to go through again. The last time I got really drunk was in college. I was invited to one of the popular girls birthday party. Well, I was invited because of my sister of course. After a couple of drinks and random vile games, I became wasted and almost hooked up with a random stranger if my sister hadn't found me while he was about undressing me.

So, after that incident, I had signed off going to crazy parties and other places that involved drinking to stupor.

Tris cleared her throat. "Earth to Florence."

"Sorry, I spaced out."

Tamara appeared before me and made a gesture for me to hurry up.

"Girl, you need to live a little. Are you taking up my offer?"

"Yes. I'll talk to you later, just send me the place and time, I'll be there."

I smiled at my phone as Tris hung up. Before I could pocket my phone, Tamara pulled me to my feet.

"You slowpoke, let's go."

I frowned at her new name for me. "How dare you call me that?"

"I love you too. Where's Sebastian?" Tamara asked as we walked to the door.

"I have no idea." I mumbled as the image of us kissing resurfaced in my mind.

"You're blushing. Florence you hardly blush. Did you both kiss or something?"

💭💭💭

We went to visit mom as Tamara had said. While we were there, Michael,  Mr Adam and Hannah, our neighbor and mom's  friend showed up with Valerie and Vincent, her children. According to her, she picked them up from school and decided to drive straight to the hospital. She left shortly after hearing what Dr. Michelle had to say concerning mom's health.

According to her, mom was recovering slowly and even it her health was normalized, she wouldn't be able to do any work at all. Mom wouldn't be paralyzed or anything but she had to keep away from anything tedious that might increase her blood pressure.

After everyone had left, I told Tamara I'll be meeting up with Tris. So, at present, I was standing in front of the hospital waiting for the taxi I requested for.

Ten minutes later, a yellow car drove up to me and stopped for me to enter. The driver was an elderly man in his fifties, his slightly graying hair was the second thing I noticed about him.

As he drove in the direction of my destination. I checked my phone and discovered that there were two messages, One from Philip and the other from Sebastian, the third however was from an unknown number.

The message from the unknown number engaged my curiosity so I clicked it open:

Your woes are just beginning sweetheart.

I froze in my seat when I saw the images below. They both were of a wedding that was filled with so much blood.

......... .........

Who can guess what those images mean?

Well, I'm out of words to write here, so I'll just leave it here.
