"Let me get this straight. The both of you are gay?"

I paced around my room, ignoring my friends' gazes. Immediately after I discovered Chad and Winston, I summoned all my friends into my room for an interrogation.

Chad rubbed the crook of his head and glanced at Winston. "Yeah."

That explains why they were always fighting and teasing each other. That explains it all.

"Were you planning to tell me at all?"

"Not anytime soon."

I shook my head in disbelief. Gemma was just watching me without offering any comforting words. No one dared tell me to calm down because I would have lost it there and then.

"What do you take me for? A homophobe?"

It was saddening that my own friends couldn't trust me with certain information about their lives, meanwhile, I had virtually told them everything about my life.

"Haz, we're sorry." Winston apologized, walking to my spot at the window.

"I wish you guys would trust me enough." Tossing my hair away from my eyes, I stumbled out of my room and up to my parents' room.

I cringed at the sounds coming from inside. There was no need to imagine the events happening in there.

Ew.

And their moans were so loud that anyone passing by this corridor could hear everything.

"Don't stop-" That was mom's barely recognizable voice.

Double ew!

Frustrated, I banged on their door. "Guys, keep it low!" I yelled.

There was a chuckle and a short laugh, then, I heard shuffling and finally, the door opened just a few inches. Mom peeked out, grinning like a mad woman. Her cheeks were burning red.

"Hey baby." She hugged her blanket to her chest.

"I'm sorry for blocking your activity, but your perverted noises are getting on my nerves ." I grumbled.

"You never complained for fifteen years, why complain now?" Dad asked from inside.

Huffing, I folded my arms on my chest. "You guys are worse than two hormonal teenagers."

"Hazel, what do you need?" Mom demanded. I could sense her mounting irritation.

A sneaky grin stole up my lips. "Nothing."

And I turned and fled, laughing when  mom screamed at me. I escaped to the attic and locked myself in. Then, I brooded over all I saw and heard today.

Winston and Chad.

I ended up falling asleep on the sofa curled up in fetal position.

💭💭💭

"Hazel, where on earth are you?" Shawn demanded through my phone.

Sitting upright, I winced at the sharp pain in my neck. "In the attic."

"What are you doing there?Never mind, I'm coming."

Five minutes more and Shawn was holding the door to the attic open. He stepped in dressed in a pair of blue cargo shorts and a black Nirvana T-Shirt my mom had gotten for him from her trip to some country.

"I needed to cool off."

Shawn closed the door and shuffled over to sit on the couch with me. "What happened? I didn't see you at dinner and everyone was wondering-"

"Chad and Winston are gay." I blurted out.

Shawn swore loudly. "I thought so."

My eyes narrowed maliciously. He raised his arm in innocence. "I never knew until now."

Leaning back, I shut my eyes and exhaled. "I mean, how hard could it have been to have told me? They could have told me." I reiterated.

Shawn touched my hand. "Have you considered the fact that maybe they were scared you would reject them?"

I scoffed. "Am I that bad?"

"Unpredictable. That's the word, Hazel. You're unpredictable."

Blinking away from his unwavering gaze, I focused on forgiving my friends in my mind and set a mental reminder to talk to them when I get out of here, which I know wouldn't be anytime soon.

I grinned mischievously at Shawn who got confused at my motives until I pulled him in for a kiss.

He stilled against my mouth. I panicked, wondering if I came on too strong.

"Did you just kiss me willingly?" He held me close to his chest.

"Just shut up."

This time, he dominated the kiss. It was gentle, sensual and toe-curling. The feeling of his lips ravaged my body with a chain of indescribable emotions.

I shifted from my position and straddled him, fingers tangled in his dark locks.

It feels good.

I went crazy when his lips wandered from my lips to my neck and then to the spot just below my throat. My back arched to give him further access to wherever he wanted.

"Hazel." Shawn whispered. His eyes were dark and predator-like as he gazed up at me.

I whimpered when his lips returned to my neck. subconsciously, my grip on his neck tightened.

He sucked on a spot and bit down gently. My eyes snapped open.

"You did not just give me a hickey."

Shawn smirked. "There are other things I'd like to give you." He swooped in and claimed my lips, knocking some air out of me.

His fingers glided under my shirt and trailed on my bare skin. I quivered at the contact, but he did not stop. I didn't want him to stop.

With a deft movement, I was lying with my back on the cushion and Shawn hovered above me. He wasn't smiling.

"Can I take off your shirt? I won't get carried away, promise."

I snorted but I let him pull off my shirt. In turn, I reached out and tugged on the hem of his T-Shirt. He discarded the clothes on the floor and when he straightened, my eyes grew larger at the sight of the tattoos that filled up his upper body.

I didn't get distracted for too long because, he kissed me again.

My legs wrapped around his torso while he was busy with pleasuring me. Shawn's lips left a burning sensation wherever they touched.

All along, Shawn's fingers were idly positioned on either sides of my head. He touched the lacy design of my bra. I gulped. His fingers trailed from my throat down to the spot between my breasts. I saw stars.

"Shawn." I moaned. "This feels so good."

"Does it? How about this?" His lips took over from where his fingers left off.

"That too." I moaned, grabbing his shoulders.

Shawn laid smooth kisses on my neck again, fingers finding the clasp of my bra and undoing them with a deft movement.

"Oh, why hello there." His eyes bulged at the sight of my boobs.

"Only you, Shawn, only-" My words drowned as he swifly covered my nipples with his lips, fingers sliding downwards to unbutton my trousers.

Holy-

Shit.

💭💭💭

Shawn and I emerged from the attic with goofy grins on our faces. I asked him to check my appearance over again to ensure nothing was out of place. We had to cover our act.

This was my definition of crazy. Never in my wildest imagination would I have dreamt of sneaking around, with my best friend of all people.

"Oh, Shawn, don't stop...right there." He moaned.

Chuckling, I jabbed him in the ribs with my pointy elbow. "I'll never live that one down right?"

"Of course not."

We headed back to the main house which was eerily quiet as everyone had probably retired to their rooms.

My phone buzzed.

Gemma: Hazel Jacinta Tamara Ross, where the fuck are you? (22:04p.m)

My cheeks warmed up as I remembered what we did for the past two hours. Two hours? Dear Lord.

Shawn peered in my phone and chuckled. "Tell her you were sucking-"

Flashing him an icy glare, I shoved my phone in my back pockets. "Shut up. Besides, I didn't do such thing. I wouldn't dream of it."

Shawn ruffled my hair. "Hazel."

My eyes travelled up to see his grave countenance. "Yeah?"

"This doesn't change anything between us right? You're still my friend."

"No, Shawn."

I was lying. Things were certainly going to get awkward. It would be impossible to see him the same way I used to. His hands had been in unmentionable places on my body. His lips-

Oh my gosh.

"I've given you something to dream about this night. Sleep well, Hazel." Shawn pressed a soft kiss on my forehead and we splitted to our rooms.

Sneaking into my room was no
easy task. I opened the door just a crack and spotted Gemma sleeping peacefully with Allie cuddled into her side.

After shrugging off my clothes, I went straight to the bathroom and brushed my teeth before remembering I haven't had dinner. Inasmuch as skipping dinner wasn't healthy, I just had too because I was drained of every form of energy.

Gemma was sitting in my bed when I returned and she was smirking.

Pretending like I didn't see her, I climbed into my spot beside Allie and hiked the blanket above my head. I was still mad at all of them.

Gemma sensed this. She sighed deeply and fell back on the bed. "I'm sorry, Hazel.

My eyelids felt heavy and soon, I was fast asleep.

By midnight, a disastrous rumble in my stomach awoke me. Propping myself on my stomach, I wondered why my stomach chose to disrupt my sleep.

Oh! I forgot to feed her.

That or-

I fished out my phone and checked my monthly calender.

Mother Red is here.

The life of a girl.

The time of the month when mood swings, the sudden need to rip off someone's head... Ugh!

Grumpy, I searched for what I needed in the nightstand close to me and trudged to the bathroom.

Hunger assailed me like a robber. Who says being a girl is easy?

The kitchen downstairs was my next point of call. I could literally eat anything I wanted to satiate the rumblimg beast in my stomach.

With stealth, I tiptoed downstairs and slid into the kitchen. Someone else was in there.

Levi.

He was seated at the kitchen island, fingers laced around a glass of water. From his expressionless face and furrowed brow, I deduced he was thinking.

"Hey."

Levi lifted his head, eyes trained on me. "Hey." He responded.

"Rough night?"

"Something like that. How about you?"

"Hunger." I replied, waddling over to the refrigerator.

Levi chuckled. "And you're raiding the refrigerator at midnight?"

"Sue me." Fishing out a box of cereals and a carton of milk, I took them to the island and grabbed and empty blue bowl and a plastic spoon.

"Want some?" I offered Levi, although, I really didn't mean it.

Levi smiled. "Come on, you know you don't meant to share your food with me." He drained the last drops of water from his glass and looked at me again.

"I'm being polite, Levi." I mixed a small amount of cereal and a lot of milk. Mom would totally kill me tomorrow.

He jumped off the stool and stored the glass cup in one of the cupboards.

"Do you like it here?" I asked.

"What?" He pretended not to have heard me.

"Do you like it here?" I repeated.

Levi shrugged. "It's better than all my vacations put together. Even when my family was alive, we didn't have exciting places to visit."

"You miss them a lot, don't you?"

"I do."

We relapsed into a moment of silence. Me and my food, Levi and his thoughts.

"Thanks."

My spoon dropped, sinking into the milk in my bowl. "Why are you thanking me?"

"For everything."

*Scratches head* 🙈
