Brave path 3
Drake: Good, just text me if you need me. I'll let you sleep now :) x
Emily: Oh, ok... night
Robot:
"Is it ok now?" Robert whispered. I nodded and brought my feet onto the sofa.
Rebecca:
"I don't wanna sleep on the sofa but I'm tired, and I wanna be up early in the morning- can I sleep now?" I asked.
Parker:
"Why are you getting up early?"
Rebecca:
"To visit mum... I can go right?" I said. Surely they could sound how desperate I was. Mum would wonder where I was. I needed to see her.
Jayken:
"Hun, you need to have a day off... we think you should just spend a day in a relaxing environment with us."
Rebecca:
"I don't need a day off! I just want to see my mum, what if she worries about where I am? Please can I go?" I begged.
Jayken:
"No Rebecca, it's really not good. Soon you're going to get really sick and the amount of stress on your body is awful. I'm sorry but there's no arguing. You aren't going." he said firmly.
Rebecca:
"How would you feel if you couldn't see your mum when she is in the hospital ha Jayken."
Jayken:
"I don't know if Rebecca I would be mad."
Rebecca:
"See how you know how I feel."
Jayden:
"I am sorry Rebecca but I am still saying no."
Rebecca:
"Fine. I'm going to bed." I huffed. Before anyone could stop me, I stormed upstairs and went into the first room I saw. Tears were rapidly falling down my face. I buried my head in the pillow and just laid there. Silent. It must've been at least half an hour until someone came upstairs. Parker and Robert were quietly speaking to themselves, but when I heard two doors shut, I knew I wasn't in their room. So I was either in Elitto's or Jayken's. I hadn't bothered looking around the room when I came, now it was too much effort, so I had to hope it was Elitto's. I'd left my phone downstairs, therefore I had nothing to do, so I had to give into exhaustion. As I kept my eyes shut, I felt myself becoming heavier and eventually falling asleep. Click. I jolted awake when I heard the door open, sitting up instantly.
Jayken:
"It's only me." Internally, I groaned. Truthfully, I couldn't be mad at him because he'd saved my life, but I was so mad that I couldn't see my mum. She needed me. She would be so lonely. "Do you have my phone?" I said groggily, wiping my eyes and climbing under the duvet. My body ached more than it should've.
Jayken:
"Yes and I'm keeping it for now, go to sleep."
Rebecca:
"I'm not tired." I lied. He went into his bathroom and started to get changed.
Jayken:
"Yes you are, nothing is gonna happen, I promise, so just sleep."
Rebecca:
I sighed and closed my eyes, curling up in the duvet. Jayken climbed in the other side a few minutes later, but made sure to stay away from me. I knew it wasn't only him who wouldn't let me see my mum but I was so mad. However, I still wasn't asleep. The house was silent apart from the soft snores from Jayken and I was getting fed up. As I flipped over again, I accidentally hit his arm and woke him up.
Jayken:
"Owwww. Why are you awake?" He quietly asked.
Rebecca:
"I can't sleep... I'm so fed up of everything Jayken, why can't I just be normal?" He turned over to face me and brushed the hair out of my face. I sulked and let me head flop onto his shoulder.
Jayken:
"Don't say that, why do you think you can't sleep? Are you panicking? Are you too cold or hot? Is it the bed because Ellito would let you stay with him." He offered.
Rebecca:
"No it's not that- well I guess it is. I can't relax and I hate being alone in the dark and silence of the house. It makes me think too much." He gently rubbed my back and fumbled around on the dressing table for something.
Jayken:
"Trying listening to music. I know it's easier said than done, but also just try and clear your mind." He handed me a pair of headphones and his phone, letting me find a playlist. He moved the pillows under me and sorted out the duvet. Since he'd looked after me at my worst, he knew how to make me comfy. I put on some random music and shuffled closer to him.
Rebecca:
"Please can I have a hug." I whispered. Jayekn was always so cheerful but I wasn't in the mood. Ever. I knew he wanted me to be happy but I felt vulnerable and on edge.
Jayken:
"Of course, now go to sleep."
Rebecca.
Usually, I woke up early, so the morning wasn't any different. Like every morning, I felt sick and grim, but this morning it was even worse. Poking Jayken in the arm woke him up, but he was less than impressed.
Jayken:
"Rebecca, I'm tired and really need to sleep. Can I please sleep comfortably instead of hugging you for a little bit?"
Rebecca:
"I don't feel well." Someone knocked on the door and Ellito walked in, standing next to me. He was always here at the right time.
Elliot:
"Why don't you come and sleep in my bed for a while? Both of you can get some sleep." He offered.
Rebecca:
Jayken looked up at him and smiled lightly but I whined. Despite a disagreement yesterday, I wanted more than anything to be with Jayken.
Elliot:
"Come on, Jayken needs to sleep hun and so do you."
Rebecca:
Now he is lifting me out of bed. I shivered, hitting my head on his shoulder.
Rebecca:
"Are you not feeling too good?" He asked me as he walked me to his room. I shook her head and rested all my weight on him.
Elliot:
"What's wrong? I can get you some medicine."
Rebecca:
"My throat and head, ears, and hips." I groaned. He went to the bathroom to get some medicine, bringing back water and tablets. I'd put both a duvet and a cover across my body, but he tried to fold them back.
Ellito:
"You're boiling hot love, at least just have the cover on then."
Rebecca:
He climbed back in bed and put the duvet on the floor before adjusting the cover and pulling me onto his chest. I took the medicine, listening to his breathing. It was steady. When I woke up again, I was sprawled across the bed, and Elliot wasn't there. Downstairs, I heard him laughing with Luke, and a weird knocking sound on the floor. My mind was fuzzy, so I couldn't figure it out, but I dragged myself out of bed to see. Parker was cuddled up to a large dog, Elliot up to a smaller one. They didn't notice me, but that was okay. I was tired anyway and went back upstairs. I hoped I wasn't really sick.
Elliot:
Jayekn and Rebecca had been sleeping for hours. Neither of them were going to wake up by themselves soon but if they didn't wake up then they wouldn't sleep tonight. Parker went to wake up Jayken with the dogs while I woke up Bebecca. I was really, really worried for her because she wasn't being looked after as she should be. And she had been so alone. "Are you gonna wake up now?" I said softly, rubbing her shoulders. She hit my hand away and pulled a face- the same face she pulled whenever she was in pain. I knew it too well. "What's hurting? Just point to it." She pointed to her throat, ears, head and stomach. She had a fever and unlike before, she had red cheeks. "What if we get up and get you some food, it might perk you up a little." She shook her head and closed her eyes again; I brought the duvet round her tightly, and rubbed her back. "Robert, can you come here?" I called- everyone was awake anyway. He quickly came through, raising his eyebrow when he saw Bebecca. "Can you tell me what you think... her stomach, head, throat and ears hurt."
Rebecca:
"Everything aches and hurts." She groaned. He sat next to me and looked down at her sympathetically.
Robert:
"Sounds like the flu to me, I might have to run down to the hospital and get stronger medicine for you hun."
Elliot:
She slipped her hand out the duvet and held my own, starting to cry quietly. I felt so guilty, even though I couldn't have helped this. The girl hadn't had a break. "It's ok, you're ok... it's ok." I reassured. Robert left to go to hospital rather quickly, but Parker and Jayken came in. Though we'd had other patients, Rebecca had been out main focus pretty much since we got the job. It was like seeing family in pain whenever she was. I gently moved her onto my chest so the other two could fit on the bed and ran my fingers through her short hair. Ashton came behind me, resting his head on my shoulder and looking at Rebecca, whereas Parker laid the other side of her. Her breathing was jagged. Her body was heavy. She now looked paler. Parker wrapped his arm round her then Jayken did the same leaving us all in one massive hug. A small smile peeked onto her face and she nuzzled properly into my chest.
Jayekn:
"Has Robert gone to get medicine?" Clearly still tired.
Elliot:
"Yeah, you're a bit sick aren't you." I said to Rebecca. She nodded and coughed a little before trying to shuffle out my grip.
Rebecca:
"Everything hurts, my ears really hurt and I'm cold."
Jayken:
"So it is a good thing that I told you that you can't visit your mum today."
Rebecca:
"Really Jayken."
Elliot:
"Yeah man she is sick."
Jayken:
"Man sorry."
Elliot:
She grumbled. I let her turn towards Parker, who hugged her gently, then pulled the cover over us all.
Jekahen:
"I know everything hurts, Robert will be back soon. We won't give you anything big but you need to eat and drink. Maybe we could go downstairs and cuddle on the sofa yeah?"
Elliot:
Jayken replied. She shrugged and looked up at Luke glumly. He sulked back teasingly- both of them never took each other too seriously. She often got sick of our faces in hospital, so seeing him was always refreshing.
Parker:
"Come on, there's plenty of cuddles and we can all actually fit on the sofa."
Elliot:
Parker laughed. He gently picked her up, letting her head settle for a moment before taking her downstairs. Jayken and I followed them, the walk steady to save her from getting hurt. She was pretty tall, but not heavy at all. Robert texted to say he was five minutes away and had picked her up some food. I wasn't sure if she could keep it down to be honest, but it was worth a try. I was actually very worried about her because I knew her body would struggle to fight it.
Rebecca:
"You have a dog... two dogs!"
Elliot:
I heard Rebecca squeal, followed by Luke's laugh. I could see her stroking Petunia gently but jumping away when Dylan leapt onto the sofa. It was definitely an act, I'd heard her come downstairs earlier, but I let her have it. "Dylan, down."He came over to me and ran round excitedly - I don't think I could love anyone more than Dylan to be honest. I knelt next to him and cuddled him. Jayken pushed me over and I ended up laying on the floor with both dogs on top of me. Rebecca giggled and watched as I was licked in the face.
Robert:
"I bring medicine and food!"
