Review: How I Met My Best Friend, Al, and Saved the World by NatashaSantangelo.

(My title was too long for the usual and professional niceties)

This is an intriguing read that was enjoyable to me even through it's flaws and happenings that I don't usually like- a job well done!

Chris, an angry lesbian near the end of her rope, finds herself befriending a talking cat that helps her sort out her struggles that becomes part of a family she never had. Now thrown into a world of deadly magic, she and her talking cat, Alma, must decide whether to save the world or let it parish from an evil that's worse than Satan himself.

Anddddd we see at the beginning of the intro that there will be: Strong adult language, adult situations, drugs (catnip), and sex (and alcohol references). Adult stuff is beginning to become the norm on wattpad, isn't it? Now- with the adult junk outta the way- let's talk about the main meat of this story.

The characters were memorable and had depth to them, which, in turn, made them relatable. One of the main characters was a cat- and the author absolutely nailed  the mannerisms of the feline.  I especially loved the scene where the character was first introduced to catnip! And not only that, but the author did some interesting twisting to where the personalities in their story didn't go with the common archetypes. It was nicely pulled off.

The grammar was okay, rating it a 7 out of 10 stars. There were some common mistakes made that could be easily spotted. But then again, the beauty of Wattpad is that your work doesn't have to be perfect to be published and dearly loved. (not to mention that we're all imperfect, so we're bound to make mistakes)

The plot didn't strike me as super original, but it didn't strike me as super common, either. But then again, I really didn't read as far as I would like to- typical me. *insert trolling face* So there might be some extra plot twisting and owning that I wasn't privy to because I decided to write the review based off of the 6 chapters I read. (stop judging- I'm pretty sure everybody is guilty of doing something of the likes at least once. xD)

Altogether, the story had good pacing and was enjoyable for me even though there were parts that I strongly disagreed with. The fact that the story was able to make me temperarily forget my qualms with it is amazing. Very nice, Natasha!
