I liked this story very much, even though it wasn't my exact cup of tea.

"Every beauty has a beast. But to Xerxes, Amber was more than that. She was his angel. The angel that was meant to return him to grace." 

Okay- by what I have read so far, this story has some language and alcohol references. By looking at the tags, we see "abuse," "assassin," "death," "drugabuse," "first-kiss," "interracial,"  and "streetfighter." So I wouldn't put it past me that there could be more adult content coming up. That being said- let's dig a little further into the main topic.

This story is the first story that I was asked to read that could fit into the poetry catagory. And even though I enjoy writing poetry myself, my brain almost has this sort of "disconnect switch" when something I'm reading leans too far into the poetry slot, so I kinda have indifferent feelings when it comes to that department. It's not the author's fault. I just happen to be the type of person that doesn't go out of my way to look for stunning works of poetry- and believe me, this is a first-rate piece.

What did stand out to me was a fluidity of the sentence structure and the depth of emotion from the characters that deadandgone was able to capture and phrase beautifully. I was happy with the large vocabulary that seemed perfect for every sentence- it was like professionalism was as easy as falling off of a rock for the author. Also, the description was well done. It was flowery, but it wasn't so detailed to the point to where the pace was interrupted. As for the grammar, I spotted only one super obvious mistake in the chapters that I have read. A 9.5 out of 10 stars in that area.

Overall, it was remarkable- but I'm not sure that it was the best story for me.
