So...last evening our carbon monoxide (one atom of carbon and one atom of oxygen that have bonded into a molecule), detector started beeping. We weren't sure what to do at first, but my mom called 9-1-1 soon. Soon a guy came and said "You need to get out of this house. Now." (or something like that), so we grabbed our coats and hats, and my mom said to get in the car in the driveway, so I did. Next came my mom with my dog Paddington, and she put him in the car, and went back. And eventually, they found Milo (THANK FREAKING GOD, HE COULD'VE DIED)
Then we were all in the car and drove around, and thought about staying in a motel, but eventually we just called DTE Energy and went back to our driveway into they came. Then they cleared all the carbon monoxide (not carbon dioxide, that has one atom of carbon, and two atoms of oxygen, and is nontoxic; carbon monoxide is odorless, invisible, and tasteless, not to mention deadly.) Eventually we could go back inside the house (and it was so late, like 9:20! Way past my bedtime!)
