ONE

My love story began with a train journey and unfolded like one, beginning in the bustling city of Seoul.

That night, fate intervened in the lives of bodyguard Jeon Hyeseong, his wife, and his son, courtesy of an unexpected angel: Kim Namgi.

Amidst the eerie sounds of the forest, the piercing cries of a distressed woman echoed through the night. A passing car caught sight of her, sprawled on the ground beside a wrecked vehicle, clutching her belly in anguish. Reacting swiftly, the man in the car ordered his driver to halt and leaped out.

Rushing to the woman's side, he was stunned to find his friend's wife in distress. With the aid of his driver, they gently lifted her and settled her in the backseat, offering soothing words of reassurance.

Then, without hesitation, he turned back towards the wreckage, determined to lend a helping hand.
S

urveying the interior of the car, Namgi's gaze fell upon another figure, lifeless and still. Horror clenched his heart as he recognized the familiar face, who had been by his side through thick and thin.

"Hyeseong!" he cried out, his voice choked with anguish. Hastily, he reached out, hoping against a sign of life, but the cold truth of death greeted his touch.

His beloved friend, his confidant, lay before him, his journey cut short by the cruel hand of fate.

Namgi closed his eyes, attempting to steady his racing heart, but the turmoil within persisted.

Tears cascaded down his cheeks, a silent testament to the agony he felt at the sight of his cherished friend in such distress.

"Master, she's losing blood. We have to hurry." his driver's voice broke the heavy silence, tinged with sorrow. Jeon Hyeseong, a beacon of kindness, now faced a crisis where even his noble spirit couldn't offer solace.

Namgi nodded, his resolve firm, as he settled into the front seat. Retrieving his phone, he dialed a number, each ring a drumbeat of urgency. Finally, a voice answered on the other end, "Yes, sir?"

"-Come here to this address, and you'll find a crashed car with a dead body beside it. Take care of the rest, understood." Namjoon's voice held a sense of urgency as he relayed the instructions to his other bodyguard over the phone. With a firm tone, he made it clear that prompt action was needed at the scene of the accident.

"Hang in there, Sooyun. We will reach the hospital in time. Everything will be okay, Think about your child. Breathe in and out." Namgi's voice was steady but tinged with concern as he reassured Sooyun, his hand offering what little comfort it could amidst the chaos. He felt the weight of responsibility heavy on his shoulders, knowing that he was now the lifeline for Sooyun and her unborn child.

With every passing moment, the urgency of the situation pressed upon him, driving him forward with a determination to see them through this ordeal.

After reaching the hospital, the doctors immediately took Sooyun to the ICU as she lost so much blood.

"

Please, take care of her," Namgi implored the medical staff as they rushed Sooyun into the intensive care unit. He watched with a heavy heart, knowing that her life hung in the balance.

In the waiting room, he sank into a chair, his mind consumed by worry. His thoughts drifted to Hyeseong's family, to the child who would grow up without a father. Guilt gnawed at him, a relentless reminder of his failure to protect those closest to him.

A few moments later doctor briefed them on the critical condition of Sooyun and the efforts being made to save her and her unborn child. As Namgi settled into a chair, his phone rang, and he answered to receive an update on the burial arrangements of his friend.

a few hours later

"Congratulations, both mother and baby are fine. Are you the father?" The doctor asked with a smile. Namgi immediately shook his head, "No no no, I'm not the father. She's my friend's wife. Can I see them!" Namgi spoke with a small smile.

"Yes, why not. We shifted both of them to a private room as you requested. The room number is 401. You can see them." After telling the room number, the doctor went the other way.

Namgi followed the doctor's directions, making his way through the corridors of the hospital until he reached room 401. With a soft knock on the door, he waited for a response.

"Come in," a voice called from inside.

Pushing the door open gently, Namgi stepped into the room, his eyes quickly scanning the space. In the corner, he spotted a woman, looking exhausted but relieved, cradling her newborn in her arms.

A warm smile spread across Namgi's face as he approached the small family. "Congratulations," he said softly, his voice filled with genuine happiness. "I'm so happy for you."

Sooyun looked up, her eyes tired and filled with sadness. "Thanks, Namgi," she said gratefully.

Namgi nodded, his gaze drifting to the newborn nestled in his mother's arms. "He's beautiful," he remarked, his heart swelling with emotion at the sight of the tiny bundle of joy.

He watched Sooyun staring at her newborn tears streaming from her eyes choking out her husband's name who was no longer with her.

"I don't know how to pay you for this. If you hadn't arrived there in time, we both could have died." Sooyun spoke as few tears landed on her cheeks as she looked a her son.

Namgi's heart ached as he witnessed Sooyun's tears, her grief palpable in the air. He approached her with a gentle expression, offering a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Sooyun, you don't owe me anything," he said softly, his voice filled with empathy. "I'm just grateful that I could be there for you when you needed help the most."

Sooyun looked up at him, her eyes still brimming with tears. "But you saved both of us," she insisted, her voice trembling with emotion. "If you hadn't arrived when you did, I don't know what would have happened."

Namgi shook his head, his gaze softening as he looked at the newborn in her arms. "You don't need to thank me," he replied gently. "All that matters is that you and your son are safe and healthy. That's all I could ever ask for."

Sooyun nodded, a small smile breaking through her tears. "Thank you, Namjoon," she whispered, gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you for everything."

Namgi returned her smile, his heart swelling with warmth. In that moment, surrounded by the fragile beauty of new life and the enduring strength of a mother's love, he knew that he had been given a gift far greater than anything he could have imagined. And as he watched Sooyun cradle her newborn son in her arms, he knew that he would always be there to support and protect them, no matter what challenges lay ahead."

" Well, what will you name him." Namgi changed the topic, Sooyun smiled and spoke after a minute, "Jungkook I'm going to name him Jeon Jungkook. Hyeseong liked it very much." Sooyun wiped her tears while kissing her son's eyes.

"It's a beautiful name Sooyun I-I want to ask you something. Are you going to live here or-" Namgi couldn't complete his sentence as Sooyun interrupted him,

"No, I'm going to my hometown. I'll raise my baby there. Can you help me this last time?" Sooyun asked, her voice barely above a whisper as she looked down, feeling a pang of shame wash over her.

Namgi nodded solemnly, his heart heavy with understanding. "Of course, Sooyun. I'll make sure everything is taken care of," he assured her, his voice filled with compassion.

As he turned to leave the room, Sooyun's gaze lingered on the tiny bundle in her arms. With a gentle smile, she whispered words of love and affection to her newborn son, her heart overflowing with maternal devotion.

Alone in the quiet room, Sooyun hugged her baby close, feeling the weight of her decisions pressing down on her. But as she looked into her son's eyes, she felt a surge of determination coursing through her veins. No matter what challenges lay ahead, she would do whatever it took to give her son the love and care he deserved.

And as she whispered the name "Jungkook" into the stillness of the room, Sooyun knew that no matter where life took them, they would always be together, bound by an unbreakable bond of love and family.

25 years later

Jungkook strolled into the office, spotting his uncle seated in his chair with his back turned, engrossed in his favorite show. With a playful roll of his eyes, Jungkook sauntered over and plopped down into the chair beside him, paying no mind to his uncle's preoccupation.

Pulling out his phone, Jungkook began absentmindedly scrolling through his Instagram feed, his attention divided between the screen in his hand and the show playing in the background. A mischievous smirk played at the corners of his lips as he eyed his uncle's obliviousness.

With a devilish glint in his eye, Jungkook decided to have a bit of fun. He located the voice note from his uncle's boss that he had saved earlier and with a quick tap, he played it at full volume. The sudden sound startled his uncle, causing him to jolt upright in his chair, his phone slipping from his grasp and crashing to the ground with a resounding thud.

Jungkook couldn't contain his laughter as he watched his uncle's reaction, a playful gleam dancing in his eyes. "Gotcha, Uncle!" he exclaimed, unable to suppress his amusement at the prank he had just pulled.

Jungkook couldn't help but laugh at his uncle's reaction, but his amusement quickly turned to caution as his uncle strode towards him with evident anger in his eyes. Reacting instinctively, Jungkook grabbed the nearest folder and held it up defensively between them, using it as a makeshift shield.

His uncle's voice boomed with frustration as he scolded Jungkook for his behavior. "Look at you, acting like a child even at your age!" he fumed, his tone laced with irritation.

Jungkook met his uncle's glare with a cheeky grin, refusing to back down. "I'm sorry, but who's the one being unproductive here?" he retorted, his tone teasing. "What if Sir Namgi had walked in instead of me? You'd be in big trouble!"

Despite the tension in the air, Jungkook couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at having turned the tables on his uncle. With a playful twinkle in his eye, he was ready to face the consequences of his actions with a smirk on his lips.

As his uncle's phone rang, Jungkook watched with amusement as his uncle's annoyance grew. "Just wait, I'll come back at you," his uncle muttered before bending down to retrieve his phone from the ground.

Jungkook couldn't help but smirk as he observed his uncle's reaction to the caller ID. It was obvious that the caller held a position of authority, judging by his uncle's sudden change in demeanor. With a practiced air of professionalism, his uncle cleared his throat and answered the phone.

Knowing exactly how his uncle would react to a call from Sir Namgi, Jungkook casually adjusted his t-shirt and settled back into his seat, feigning nonchalance as he flipped through the folder in his hands. His gaze flicked over the pictures of the clients who had hired bodyguards from their company, but his mind was elsewhere, he came here to talk about something.

Jungkook watched as his uncle ended the call, his expression full of seriousness and professionalism. With a heavy sigh, his uncle turned back seeing Jungkook's face, his displeasure evident in his demeanor as he settled back into his chair.

"You have work to do," his uncle stated firmly, his tone brooking no argument.

Jungkook sighed, his frustration bubbling to the surface. "Again? Actually, I was here to talk about my holidays. It's been months since I've had a good break. I won't do it," he declared defiantly, his gaze meeting his uncle's with determination.
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat as soon as he heard Namgi's name. The mere mention of Sir Namgi filled him with a sense of obligation and gratitude. After all, Sir Namgi was the reason Jungkook was sitting here in the first place. He owed him everything.

"What?" Jungkook's tone softened, his earlier defiance melting away in an instant. Without a second thought, he was ready to heed Sir Namgi's request. Whatever task lay ahead, he would tackle it with the same dedication and loyalty that had earned him Sir Namgi's trust in the first place.

"He need a bodyguard for his son."Jungkook's eyebrows shot up in surprise at the request. Sir Namgi needed a bodyguard for his son? The seriousness of the situation immediately registered in Jungkook's mind. If Sir Namgi was seeking protection for his own child, it must be a matter of utmost importance.

"Understood," Jungkook replied without hesitation, his voice firm and resolute. "I'll make the necessary arrangements right away. Sir Namgi can count on me."
