FOUR
It was time to leave maids has packed everything. Taehyung was sitting in the living room scrolling through his phone Jungkook entered the living room, his footsteps echoing softly against the polished floors. Taehyung sat on the plush sofa, engrossed in his phone, oblivious to Jungkook's presence. Clearing his throat, Jungkook attempted to initiate a conversation, but Taehyung remained silent, his attention fixed on the glowing screen in his hands.
Undeterred by Taehyung's indifference, Jungkook persisted, "Good afternoon Taehyung. Are you ready to head out?"
Taehyung glanced up briefly, his expression unreadable, before returning his focus to his phone without uttering a word. With a resigned sigh, Jungkook watched as Taehyung stood up and ascended the staircase, his footsteps fading away with each step.
Left alone in the living room, Jungkook exhaled heavily, feeling frustration at the lack of response from Taehyung.
Nevertheless, Jungkook remained determined to fulfill his duty as Taehyung's bodyguard, regardless of the initial hurdles they faced.
As they stood at the porch bidding farewell, Namgi's voice broke through the quiet moment, his tone serious yet filled with trust. "Jungkook, make sure you do your job properly."
Jungkook nodded, his expression determined. "Of course, Sir. You can count on me."
As Jungkook locked eyes with Taehyung, the latter's shock was palpable, his mouth slightly agape. Sensing Taehyung's surprise, Jungkook maintained his confident gaze, silently conveying his commitment to fulfilling his duty as Taehyung's bodyguard.
Jimin, noticing the tension, interjected with a light-hearted comment, "Looks like you're in good hands, Taehyung. Don't give Jungkook too much trouble, okay?"
Taehyung remained speechless, As Namgi smiled reassuringly, he turned to face Taehyung, whose displeasure was evident. "Remember, don't go anywhere without informing him," Namgi instructed firmly.
Taehyung, on the verge of arguing, but seeing the sight of his parents' happy expressions nodding silently in agreement. With Jimin by his side and Jungkook trailing behind, he made his way out of the house, his mood still sour despite his compliance.
As they settled into the car, Taehyung and Jimin took the back seats while Jungkook sat upfront in his sleek black suit, his gaze drifting outside the window. Taehyung shot a glare at Jungkook, who happened to meet his eyes through the rear-view mirror. Jungkook offered a small smile, but Taehyung quickly averted his gaze, focusing instead on Jimin, who struggled to contain his amusement at Taehyung's predicament. With an eye roll, Taehyung turned his attention to the passing scenery outside the window.
...................
The drive to Taehyung's house was short, and as soon as the car stopped, Taehyung wasted no time stepping out, followed closely by Jimin. They briskly made their way inside the villa, a lavish gift from their parents.
Jungkook observed them disappear into the house, shaking his head in anticipation of the challenges ahead. With a resigned sigh, he followed suit, while two servants began unloading their belongings from the car.
Entering inside, Jungkook observed Taehyung's figure disappear into a room, while Jimin sat casually on the kitchen counter, sipping juice.
Approaching the kitchen, Jungkook initiated the introduction, "We haven't introduced ourselves. My name is Jungkook. Yours?"
"Jimin," came the brief reply from Jimin, who continued sipping his juice. Jungkook nodded, unsure of what else to say, and proceeded to search for his own room.
The trio slept until the evening, awakening just in time for dinner. Jungkook had already familiarized himself with the household schedule, thanks to the maid who managed most of the housework.
As dinner was served, Jimin arrived shortly after being called by the maid. However, there was no sign of Taehyung.
"Is Sir still sleeping?" Jungkook inquired, referring to Taehyung as Sir despite his older age, acknowledging Taehyung as his client.
"No, but he said he will eat in his room," the maid responded, starting to prepare the food for Taehyung.
Jungkook hesitated to intervene with the maid's actions, deciding to let Taehyung enjoy his last day of freedom before their official arrangement began. He figured it was best not to disrupt Taehyung's routine, at least for the time being.
“— Yes, sir. We have arrived safely, Sir. Taehyung and his friend are in their room. You don't have to worry about anything.......Ok, bye.”
Jungkook ended the call with a sigh, shaking his head slightly at Mr. Kim's excessive concern. "Mr. Kim worries too much," he muttered to himself as he placed his phone on the table. Grabbing a towel from the stand, he headed into the bathroom for a well-deserved shower.
After finishing his shower, Jungkook wrapped a towel around his hips, the droplets from his hair cascading down his back as he dried them. He strolled over to his wardrobe and opted for a pair of black sweatpants, pulling them on effortlessly.
Feeling refreshed, he decided to grab some water from the kitchen before settling into bed. Upon entering the kitchen, he was surprised to find Taehyung perched on the counter, munching on some chips.
"What are you doing here?" Jungkook inquired, reaching into the fridge for a water bottle.
Taehyung replied with a hint of sarcasm, "Can't you see, I'm eating," rolling his eyes at what he deemed to be a rather obvious question.
"Don't you have manners? Why aren't you wearing a shirt? This isn't your house, okay?" Taehyung snapped, irritation evident in his tone as he glanced at Jungkook's bare chest and abs.
"I didn't know you would be here. And it's just the two of us," Jungkook replied nonchalantly, unfazed by Taehyung's annoyance.
Taehyung huffed and went upstairs, murmuring something that Jungkook couldn't quite catch.
Jungkook left the kitchen after returning the bottle to the fridge. On his way to his room, he glanced upstairs, a light chuckle escaping his lips.
......................
"Sir, wake up. Breakfast is ready,” the maid called out as she knocked on the door. Hearing a grunt from the other side, she knew Taehyung had woken up from his deep slumber. With a smile, she walked downstairs to the kitchen.
Taehyung walked out of his room feeling fresh after his morning routine. Today, he didn't feel like showering, so he simply brushed his teeth and washed his face before closing the door behind him. Making his way down the stairs to the kitchen, he found Jimin and Jungkook already waiting for him.
Entering the kitchen, he saw Jungkook in his black, neat suit, quietly eating his breakfast.
Taehyung didn't like the black suit Jungkook was wearing. "We're not going anywhere, so why's he wearing a suit inside?" he thought to himself. He looked at Jimin, who only shrugged his shoulders. Taehyung sat down next to Jimin, allowing the maid to place his breakfast on his plate. He threw Jungkook a glare. "Can you not wear that suit inside the house? It's irritating. Wear some casual clothes," he said bluntly.
"I cannot, sir. I'm your bodyguard. I have to wear my suit; it's like a uniform for me," Jungkook responded calmly as he put the dishes in the sink, passing a smile to the elderly maid.
"Do you have to go anywhere? I can take you," Jungkook asked, standing in front of Taehyung, who glanced at him from head to toe.
"Oh, yes, I have to buy some files and stationary!" Jimin exclaimed. Taehyung rose from his seat, shooting a glare at Jungkook, and walked out of the kitchen.
Jungkook sighed inwardly at Taehyung's attitude but remained composed. "Alright, let's go then," he said to Jimin, offering a polite smile.
As they walked out of the house and towards the foyer, Jungkook checked his surroundings, making mental notes of potential security risks. Jimin chatted animatedly about his plans for the day, seemingly oblivious to the tension between Taehyung and Jungkook.
Once they were outside, Jungkook ushered them towards the car and quickly sat beside driver's seat.
As they drove off, Jungkook's mind was already focused on ensuring their safety during the outing. But, he failed to notice that he was being watched for a while now.
“Boss, we found him....... But that bodyguard is with him as well......-!"
....................
As they were in the shop people kept glancing at Taehyung because jungkook was nearly glued to him. Whichever aisle he goes jungkook behind him like a ghost haunting his favourite prey.
Taehyung didn't liked the unnecessary attention at all. "Can you leave me alone for once you can watch me from afar too. Why do you have to stick with me like a glue." Taehyung snapped in anger Jungkook's demeanor remained unchanged, his focus unwavering as he continued to shadow Taehyung's every move ignoring Taehyung's outburst, he maintained a safe distance while keeping a watchful eye on his surroundings.
After paying at the counter the trio made their way out, "I'm craving some sweets why don't we go to a cafe nearby!" He suggested looking at jungkook with pleading eyes.
Jungkook nodded his head in approval and asked the driver to drive to a nearby café. The driver nodded in acknowledgment and steered the car towards the nearby café as per Jungkook's instructions. Inside the car, the atmosphere seemed slightly lighter as the trio anticipated the sweet treats awaiting them at the café.
Upon arrival, they stepped out of the car, with Taehyung leading the way, his excitement. Jimin followed closely behind, his enthusiasm mirroring Taehyung's, while Jungkook maintained his vigilant stance, his gaze scanning their surroundings for any potential threats.
As they entered the café, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sweet pastries enveloped them, adding to the inviting ambiance. Taehyung's eyes sparkled with delight as he perused the menu, already envisioning the delectable treats he would indulge in. With a sense of camaraderie, they found a table and settled in, ready to enjoy a sweet treats.
As their order arrived Jungkook Observing Taehyung's as he dug into the strawberry cake, he couldn't help but smile.
As they chatted and enjoyed their desserts, the atmosphere became more relaxed, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the trio. Taehyung's playful banter and Jimin's infectious laughter filled the air, momentarily easing the tension that often lingered between them.
Returning back the trio as usual went to their rooms and met once the dinner was served.
During dinner, Jungkook cleared his throat, indicating his intention to speak up. As Taehyung and Jimin looked at him curiously, Jungkook took a moment to gather his thoughts before addressing them.
"I think it's important for us to establish some ground rules," Jungkook began, his tone firm yet respectful. "I understand that having a bodyguard around all the time might feel suffocating, but my job is to ensure your safety, Taehyung."
He glanced at Taehyung, who listened with a hint of annoyance but remained silent.
"I won't intrude on your personal space unnecessarily, but I need you to cooperate with me for your own safety," Jungkook continued. "That means informing me of your whereabouts and not wandering off alone, especially in public places."
Turning to Jimin, Jungkook added, "And Jimin, your safety is also my responsibility when you're with Taehyung. So, I'd appreciate your cooperation as well."
He paused, giving them a moment to digest his words before continuing. "As your dad request he asked me to teach you some self defence and I'm totally agreeing on this so as you university starts 8 o clock your self defence class which I'll be taking on 6 am sharp."
Jungkook's announcement hung in the air for a moment, prompting Taehyung to raise an eyebrow in surprise. Jimin, on the other hand, nodded in understanding, knowing the importance of being prepared for any situation.
"Self-defense classes at 6 am?" Taehyung echoed, skepticism coloring his tone. "That's early."
Jungkook nodded, his expression serious yet reassuring. "It's the best time to train, before your day gets busy with other commitments."
Taehyung sighed, running a hand through his hair in resignation. "Alright, I'll give it a shot. But don't expect me to be a martial arts master overnight."
Jungkook chuckled lightly. "Of course not. It's about learning the basics and building from there. We'll take it one step at a time."
With that settled, the trio resumed their meal, the anticipation of the upcoming self-defense classes lingering in the air.
