Kina's POV
The last two months have gone by drama-free. Jayce is back at his home. The guys and I rotate shifts so that someone is always staying at Jayce's house. Dario, David, and I have the morning and afternoon shifts. Kevin, Mike, Josh, and Rick have the evening shift.
My cast came off in February, and now I am in therapy. My doctor advised that I can use my sling in case I feel any pain. My therapy sessions are going great.
But one thing that is concerning is that since January, my sleep pattern has changed. I find myself more tired and cranky. My parents even visited in February, and I caught my mother grinning like crazy. I asked her why, and she told me, "You will soon find out." So far, I haven't found out anything.
Janiyah called and said she delivered Jacee. She even sent me some pictures.
Bentley, Blaze, Beau, and I are lounging outside by the pool. Well, I'm lounging by the pool, and they are running around the yard. Dario forced me to take a few days off, and he will take care of guarding Jayce.
My Yorkie, Bentley, ran over to me and jumped in my lap, wagging his tail.
"Arf! Arf!"
"Mommy loves you too, Bentley. Let's take a walk and get some treats for you and your brothers."
After putting Bentley in my arms, I stood up and walked towards the kitchen.
"Uh, Bentley, mommy feels a little dizzy." I made my way towards the wall, then continued walking into the kitchen. Once in the kitchen, I grabbed a bottle of water to drink. Then, I went to sit at the kitchen table.
"Mommy really needs to go to the doctor, Bentley. I have been feeling quite dizzy lately."
I heard the front door open, so Dario must be home. "I'm in the kitchen!!"
Dario, David, and Rick entered the kitchen. Dario walked over and kissed me.
"How is my baby feeling today?"
"I felt dizzy again, so the next time I go for therapy, which is tomorrow, I'm going to the emergency room."
"Good. I'll drive you to your therapy appointment. Let me know when you finish so I can come back to go with you to the emergency room. In the meantime, I'll fix dinner."
"Thanks."

Dario dropped me off as promised. After stepping out of his SUV, I walked to my therapist's office.
"Hey Kina, Melissa is waiting for you. You can go back now."
"Thanks, Steven."
I went back to the physical therapy gym, and Melissa was waiting for me.
"Hi, Kina. Come on over. Have a seat at the table. The first exercise I want you to do today is to squeeze the green rubber ball. Squeeze the ball for five seconds and release. I want you to try five repetitions. I'll time each one. Let me know when you are ready."
"Okay." I sat down at the table and took a few deep breaths. "I'm ready."
*************
"How are you feeling today after your exercises?"
"I feel okay. And, I don't feel any pain."
"That's great news. I'll see you on Monday."
"Thanks, Melissa." Before I stood up out of my seat, I felt dizzy.
"Kina, are you okay? You don't look so good."
"I keep having dizzy spells. I'm going to the emergency room now to see what is happening."
"I'll walk with you."
I knew something was wrong the moment I stood up. My legs buckled, and I fell to the ground.
Melissa's POV
"Steven!! Steven!!"
Steven ran into the gym. "Go get a gurney now! We need to get Kina to the emergency room! She stood up and immediately collapsed on the floor."
"I'll be right back!"
"Kina, wake up." Oh gosh, I hope she is okay. I didn't want to shake her for fear of making the situation worse.
Steven and several nurses entered the gym with a gurney.
"The patient's name is Kina Ginnetti. She said she keeps having dizzy spells. I was about to escort her to the emergency room, but she immediately collapsed as soon as she stood up."
Kina was carefully lifted off the floor and taken to the emergency room. "We'll take care of her."
"Thanks. I'll call Kina's husband."
Dario's POV
While sitting with Kevin and Josh in Jayce's security room, my cellphone began to ring. It was Kina, so I answered. Only when I answered, it wasn't Kina.
"Mr. Ginnetti, this is Kina's therapist, Melissa. Kina was rushed to the emergency room. She told me about the dizzy spells she was having. I told her I was going to walk with her, but as soon as she stood up, she passed out."
"I'll be there shortly. Thanks for calling."
"Dario, go ahead. We'll stay here."
"Thanks."
I ran to find Jayce. I heard water splashing, so I ran to the pool. "Jayce, I need you to listen to Kevin and Josh until I come back. I have to go to the hospital. Kina was rushed to the emergency room."
"Go. We should be okay here. I hope Kina is okay."
I hope she is too. I ran to my SUV and spend off to the hospital.
*************
I parked my SUV in front of the hospital and didn't care if I get a ticket either. I got out and ran right towards the receptionist desk.
"My wife was rushed to the ER after completing her physical therapy session. Her name is Kina Ginnetti."
The receptionist checked in the computer.
"Mr. Ginnetti, I show that your wife is currently going through a list of tests to see what is causing her dizzy spells. The doctor's name is Dr. Victoria Harper. Follow me, please."
I followed the receptionist into the ER waiting room. "Hey, Sam, when you see Dr. Harper, please tell her Mrs. Ginnetti's husband is here. Mr. Ginnetti, this is Sam. If you need anything, let Sam know. He'll get it for you. I'm Sarah."
"Thank you, Sarah." I sat in one of the chairs near the nurse's station.
***********
I saw several doctors walk over to the nurse's station, but none of them was Dr. Harper. It's been over an hour since I sat in the waiting room. I called Kina's family and my father about what happened. Her family has already booked a flight to Miami and will be here tonight.
"Hey, Dario. Here are Kina's things. How is she?"
"Thanks, Melissa. I haven't heard anything yet."
"They may be still running some tests. I'll check back to make sure Kina is okay."
"Thanks, Melissa."
"You're welcome." Melissa then walked away.
We have only been married for five months. What's wrong with my bride?
"Mr. Ginnetti, this is Dr. Harper," Sam says, so I walked over to the station.
"Mr. Ginnetti, I sincerely apologize for the delay. Follow me please. I'll take you to your wife's room. We ran a battery of tests to rule out causes of the dizziness. Your wife is going to be okay."
We took a short elevator ride to the fourth floor. As we walked to Kina's room, I noticed a NICU ward, delivery rooms, and families holding newborns.
"Is Kina pregnant?"
"She sure is. And, because of the way we drew blood, I also know the gender of your first child. Let's go share the news with your wife."
My legs began to buckle as we approached Kina's room. I took a seat on Kina's bed. She had the biggest smile on her face.
"Kina, I was able to discern from the amount of test and blood work how far along you are in your pregnancy. So, you are now three months pregnant with your first child. Your due date at the moment is October 12th, 2020."
Kina's POV
"So that is why my mother was grinning the last time she visited. I'm going to be a mommy. Now that Dario is here, you also said you knew the gender of our baby."
"That's correct. You will be the proud mama and papa of a baby girl in October. You will need to find a pediatrician for your daughter-to-be. I can give you a list of the best pediatricians in Miami. Also, I want to schedule your next appointment so I can do an ultrasound to make sure the baby is progressing well."
"Okay. Thank you."
"I'll be right back."
"Here is your phone and bag. You know what this means, right?" Dario arched his eyebrows at me as he handed me my things.
"Yes. I can't do any bodyguard duties until after our daughter is born. What about just sitting in the security room at Jayce's house? I don't want to be home alone, not able to do anything. A lot of moms to be work until close to delivery time."
"Yeah, but a lot of moms to be aren't bodyguards. You're not going to be home alone because my mom will be on the first plane she can catch to Miami. Plus, your parents are on the way."
"Well, can I at least sit in the security room? I promise to take frequent breaks. I don't want to be stuck in the house for the next six months. This is going to be hard."
"No, it's not. You'll be fine. How about a deal? I will let you sit with Jayce at our house, not in the security room. I don't want you to get any ideas of trying to take someone out at his house."
"Fine. I agree. Since we know that the baby is a girl, I want to start buying baby things. And, we need to pick out her name."
"Choose whatever name you would like. We can get a book of names or something."
"We don't have to buy a book. I can search online. I want our daughter's name to be Italian and Jamaican. Of course, her last name will be Ginnetti."
Dr. Harper came back into the room and handed me an appointment card. "I also have your release papers and brochures for first-time moms. For some women, certain foods or beverages may bother them during their pregnancy. But don't worry. Some moms can go back to eating those things after their pregnancy. Here is my card as well. Call me if you have any questions or concerns during your pregnancy."
"Thank you, Dr. Harper. As for the release papers, can they be adjusted for tomorrow? My family is coming, and they will not let me get any rest, especially my mother."
I'm serious. My family will have me up all night.
"That won't be a problem. I'll have the release papers ready for tomorrow morning."
"Thanks." Dr. Harper then left my room.
"Well, Papa Ginnetti, you know what time it will be, don't you?"
"Plenty of late-night food trips."
"You got it. I don't need the Italian because you're going to wake up and fix it. And, you will fix it, or else I will make your life miserable. Ooh, I'll have my family fix Jamaican food while they are here."
Dario shook his head at me and laughed, but I was serious. "Well, I'm going to pick out our daughter's name now."
"I'm going to call my family, your family, and the guys to tell them the good news."
Dario left the room while I grabbed my phone to look for our daughter's name. While scrolling, I heard a knock on the door. It was Melissa, my physical therapist.
"I'm glad you are okay. Congratulations, mommy-to-be. Do you know what you are having?"
"Thank you, Melissa. I'm three months pregnant with a baby girl. Our daughter will be the first grandchild for both families."
"Aww, I'm so happy for you. We can switch to house visits for your therapy sessions."
"Thank you so much. I'll give you my address." I grabbed a piece of paper from my bag, wrote down the address, and handed it to Melissa.
"Are you allergic to dogs? We have three puppies - a Yorkie, Husky, and Goldendoodle. They are friendly."
"Oh, no I'm not allergic to dogs. I'll schedule your appointments for the afternoon."
"That will be great. Thanks, Melissa."
"You're welcome, Kina. And, congratulations. Get yourself some rest."
"You're welcome. I sure will." Melissa then left the room.
I scrolled through several websites for an Italian name. After picking my Italian name, I chose my Jamaican name. I had to find the perfect fit for the last name Ginnetti. And I think I have it. I'll wait until Dario comes back to tell him.
After twenty minutes, Dario came back.
"I picked a name for our baby."
"Wow, that was quick. So, what did you pick?"
"I chose Natalia Chrystyna Ginnetti. It is a mixture of our heritages."
"I love it, and my mama will love it too. Natalia is my mama's middle name."
"Aww, I didn't even know that. That's special." I started rubbing my belly in a circular motion. "Natalia, you are going to be one, spoiled little girl. I will be the first one to spoil you. I can't wait for you to come. Mi love yuh suh much already an mi can't wait to hold yuh."
I still can't believe it - I'm going to be a mommy.
