Kina's POV
This man is testing my patience. He was supposed to be here at 2:30 pm. That's what he requested.
We heard the door opening, signaling his highness' appearance. When he saw me standing with the guys, he was furious.
"Why is one of my bodyguards a woman?! When I said the best, I meant men. Wait a minute! You're the one who caused the trouble in Italy! I want you out!"
"Jayce, Ms. Padmore was one of the best, and you never specified if you wanted male or female," His agent said in a frustrated tone.
I put my hands on his desk, and looked in his face. "Look Mr. Rude, your little girlfriend caused the trouble. My sister recorded it. I was the best at the agency, and first female to EVER graduate. I don't particularly care for you either as an actor or your attitude, but it is my duty as your bodyguard to protect you. As a matter of fact, you need me because I certainly don't need you. You don't have to like me, but you sure are going to respect me and listen to me."
His agent spoke again. "She's right, Jayce. She has a waiting list of people, wanting Kina to be their bodyguard. And, I was told by men and women. Kina's teacher put you ahead of the people on the list. That was a pretty hefty list of clients, several well-known actors and actresses were on there. Her teacher is the best bodyguard in the world."
After standing up straight, my hands were now on my hips. This is utter nonsense. "So, what's it going to be Mr. Sterling - me walking out of the door, or me being a part of your bodyguard team?"
This fool sat in his chair and thought about it. I started tapping my feet. "Time is ticking, Mr. Sterling."
"Fine! You can stay, but I certainly don't have to listen to you. You certainly are not the lead bodyguard."
I turned around and looked at the guys. We all stood there and laughed. He was mad, but did I care?
"What part of what your agent said didn't you get? I was the best at the agency. I most certainly am the lead, So, you will listen to me. Now, when do we start? The assignment said you wanted bodyguards around you 24/7. So, we need to start searching the perimeter of your property. And, where are we staying?"
"Steven, do you have any idea how embarrassing it will be when everyone finds out my head bodyguard is a woman?! I will be the joke of the century."
The agent replied back, "You are so close to finding another agent. I'm tired of your act, Mr. Sterling. You said the best, so that is what I got. You are wasting Ms. Padmore's time, and mine. Make up your dang mind already!!! I need a drink!!" The agent stormed off somewhere.
Then in came Barbie - meaning his girlfriend.
"These are the body......."
That was all she said until she saw me.
"What is she doing here?! She caused enough trouble in Italy!!! Get out!!!"
I pulled out my phone, pulled up the video my sister sent to me, and plopped it on his desk. Dario said he showed the media what really happened.
He surprisingly looked at it. He sighed, "Palmira, you clearly started it. And, what did I tell you about starting trouble? Your trouble keeps putting me in the news, and not in a positive way! And, second of all this is my house. I say who stays and goes. Got it?! Now, get out of my sight."
As she stormed out of the room, she purposely brushed my shoulder. The guys started clearing their throats because they know how I am. But, I kept my cool.
"Look, the servants will show you where you will be staying. I don't have time for this. I need a drink." He left the room.
"Guys, we have our work cut out for us. No wonder the man needs a new security team. The last one probably didn't protect him on purpose. But, that will not be me. He is as rude as they come, but we must do our job."
"Please follow me, and I will show you to your quarters." The butler tells us.
We followed the butler to our rooms. At least he has us in the same part of the house he is in. It makes it easier to guard him. And, we have individual rooms. Thank goodness.
"Guys, let's meet back in the hallway in 15 minutes."
After entering my room, I came out of my jacket. It is hot in Miami. I may need to go shopping. Thankfully, I have my truck with me.
The guys were out in the hallway after 15 minutes. "Let's search the grounds to see if there are potential breaches that need to be fixed immediately."
Once we walked outside, we split up and searched the property. I have to say this property is amazing, and huge. David and I walked together. Mike and Josh walked together. Lastly, Kevin and Rick walked together. Why this fool needed 6 bodyguards is beyond me.
"Kina, I'm surprised nobody has tried to swim and come on to his property. No kind of privacy at all."
"We could suggest an invisible barrier to surround the property. Do they even have a security room here? Let's go find his royal Highness and ask."
We heard giggling, so I'm guessing those two made up. Well, they can do that later. I need to ask this. They were sitting in one of the lounge chairs near the pool.
"Excuse me, Mr. Sterling, but I need to ask you a few questions."
"Can't you see that I am busy?!"
"Can't you see that I am trying to do my job to keep you safe?! You're little make-out session can wait."
"Mira, go inside." She got up, pouting like a spoiled brat. And, brushed past me again. I am two seconds from embarrassing her again.
"Let's make this snappy!"
"First, you might want to lower your tone. I'm not your girlfriend. Is there a security room we can access?"
"What do you need that for? This is probably the safest place in Miami."
"Ugh, Mr. Sterling, no place is totally safe. We need a room with cameras set up to canvas the property. Also, I want to have an invisible fence set up."
"Again, what for?!"
"Someone could easily swim onto your property. Please tell me there is at least a security system for the house."
"I don't need it. I'm Jayce Sterling for goodness sake."
David and I smacked our heads. "I don't care if you are the President of the United States, you need security. You will hire someone to put up the fence, add the security room, and a security system."
He stood up from the chair and looked down at me. "I'm not getting any of that."
"Yes, you are."
"No, I am not." He started walking away and I followed.
"Mr. Sterling, yes you are. Do you remember why you needed a new security team? And, how many times did fans try to attack you this past week?"
He stopped in his tracks. "Fine! I'll call tomorrow."
"And, we need walkie talkies too." He stormed inside. I could care less. He is the one that needed new bodyguards.
"David, I need to go shopping. I didn't know Miami was so hot. I'll be back in a couple of hours."
"Go ahead, Kina. We got your back."
Hey just because I was born in Jamaica doesn't mean I like it hot. I hate the Summer and hot weather. I went to my room to grab my phone and my bag. On my way down the stairs, I saw the Butler.
"Excuse me, can you tell me where the mall is?"
"Sure thing." He gave me the street address.
"Thank you." Then, I left the house and headed to the mall.
Jayce's POV
What is her problem?! Nobody talks to me like that. Nobody! The nerve of her. I went to find the one she was walking with.
"Hey, where is she?!"
"If you are talking about Kina, she just left to go shopping for some more clothes."
"I didn't give her permission to leave the house!"
"Sir, why would Kina need your permission? She's a grown woman." Then he left shaking his head.
Wait until she comes back.
"Mr. Sterling, your dinner is ready in the dining room."
"Thank you, Thomas." I went inside to eat my dinner.

While watching television, we heard commotion outside. I ran outside to see what was going on.
Ms. Whatever her name is was standing over someone who was knocked out cold.
"Yes, I need a police officer sent to 456 Oceanview Way. I caught someone trying to sneak on Mr. Sterling's property."
She waited for a reply, then said, "Thank you."
"Hey David, can you wait for the police to come? I'll be right back." She went to her truck and grabbed some bags.
As she started to walk past me, "Hey, I didn't give you permission to leave the house!"
She didn't say one word, just walked up the stairs like I didn't exist.
"I'm talking to you!" I grabbed her arm. "Don't you hear me talking to you?!"
"Mr. Sterling, last time I checked my father's name was Simeon Padmore, not Jayce Sterling. I needed more clothes, so I went to get them. It's hot here in Miami. Now, you need to let go of my arm."
She yanked her arm away, went into her room and shut the door.
When she opened the door, she had on a tank top and what looked like black jogging pants, and her hair in a ponytail.
Once again, I was oblivious to her as she went back outside.
"Jayce, where are you going?!" Mira questioned.
"Ugh, Mira go to sleep already." I have an argument to start. I went back outside. It was just her and the guy from earlier.
"Good night, David. I'll take the first shift. And, I'll be fine."
"I don't appreciate you ignoring me and disrespecting my house!"
Kina's POV
Oh my gosh, it is only the first day, and this man is driving me insane! I'm going to need blood pressure medicine if this keeps up.
"Mr. Sterling in no way, shape or form have I disrespected your house. I'm trying to protect it, but you are not cooperating because I am a woman. You need to make sure that phone call is made about the fence. I caught that guy trying to look for open windows to get in your house."
"And, respect is a two way street. You want me to respect you, but all you have done is shot me down since this morning. So far you haven't earned it. In the morning, I need a schedule of your events that you will be attending so I can secure transportation. Either we work together or I am out the door with my team. And, good luck finding one that will put up with your attitude. Goodnight, Mr. Sterling."
I started my shift of patrolling the grounds for the night. Can I take another day of this man? I seriously wish Dario was here.
