Chapter 4: Meeting The Unsociable Vampire

Dedicated to Alex-Rose-Foster!

I walked off the stage and into the preparation room once again.
No way on earth, was I going to meet my new 'master' dressed like this.

I hurriedly slipped out of the skimpy dress and heels and walked over to a big wardrobe. I flung it's doors wide open hoping to find something decent and comfortable to wear. I spotted a pair of ripped denim jeans, though there were lots of rips in them and would reveal a lot of leg. Still, it was better than nothing - literally. I grabbed those and looked for a top to wear.
I settled for a white crop top sweater.
I shoved on the clothes and saw a grey beanie in the wardrobe too so I pulled that over my head.
Walking over to the shoe rack I gazed over all the heels. My eyes finally landed on a pair of combat boots.

Yes! Whoever got the combat boots had a great style sense because those babies are life (along with Converse)!

Just as I finished lacing up the last boot, Viola walked in.

"Mr. Abelló is waiting for you in the reception area," She informed me.

"Right. I'm all done, let's roll," I said jumping onto my feet.

She wrinkled her nose at my boyish action, a look of disapproval on her face.

"Come along then," She said and I followed after her.

We walked down a long corridor and stopped at an elevator.
Viola pressed the button with her perfectly manicured finger.
The door opened and we got inside it.

I have never liked elevators because it felt so cramped and made me think that I was in a coffin. Clayre and Hanna always said it was because I was claustrophobic. Thinking about my friends made my eyes fill with tears. Will I ever see them again? Are they searching for me right now along with me parents? Clayre must be feeling so guilty right now. I blinked back the tears not wanting Viola to see that I was crying.

The elevator came to a stop and the doors slid open as we reached the ground floor.

I stepped out of the elevator and was surprised.
The reception was big with fancy marble pillars, and antique furniture, bar areas and plasma screen TVs hung around the place.
How did I end up in a place like this?

Oh that's right, I was kidnapped while walking to a shop to buy some snacks like a civilised person. I was even walking on the pavement which I rarely do. Jeez, bad luck came to me no matter how good or bad I acted! I feel like somebody should give me a pep talk about life.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Viola said, "Mr. Abelló is approaching us. Do not misbehave, he does not forgive easily. Take this advice and you might live a little longer."
Well, that wasn't the kind of pep talk I was thinking about.

I looked at Viola but she was focused on the approaching Mr. Abelló probably. I followed her gaze and my breath hitched.
The man approaching us was striking.
He had a perfectly sculpted jaw, full lips, intense stormy eyes and had to be at least 6ft 4. His dark hair was tousled like he just went for a run on the beach and you could slightly see his muscles rippling underneath the black tuxedo when he walked.  The short stubble on his face made him even more irresistible.

I jut wanted to feel his muscles underneath my hands.  And the graze of his stubble on my face.

God's blood! He was a walking angel!

No! Snap out of it Isadora.

I crossed my arms and put on a bored face.
He stopped right in front of us.

"Mr. Abelló, your purchase is ready to leave with you now sir," Viola spoke up.

Purchase? I'm not a Walmart item that you scan!

He turned his attention to me and I felt a little bit nervous under his hot gaze. His eyes were raking up and down my body.
I bit my lip like I usually do when I'm nervous and looked at him. His eyes darkened as it fell on my lips.

"Come, my car is waiting outside," He ordered me. With that, he turned on his heels and walked out the glass entrance doors where I saw a black BMW parked outside.

That's it? No 'hello' or 'how are you'? Uh, rude.

I sighed and ran after him.

He was sitting in the limo already. I hesitated.

I could make a run for it right now. This was my big chance. It was dark outside and everybody was inside the building in the warm...sipping glasses of blood.

Nah, scratch that.

If he was really a vampire then he could easily catch me.
Damn, I wish I had superpowers! My only superpower was eating a bag of Cheetos in 2 minutes flat.

"I don't have all day, human. Either get in or walk!" He snapped. His voice was deep and dangerous. He looked at me with those grey eyes. They looked like a mini thunderstorm was happening inside them. His amazing angelic features would've fooled anybody but I knew that he was far from an angel.

I quietly got in and shut the door. I tried to scoot over so that my body was pressed right against the door and I had left a big gap in between us.

"Reynold, drive us back to my house," Lucien ordered.

"Yes, sir," Came the voice from the driver's seat.

The engine started up and Reynold drove us off down the driveway.

Lucien pulled out a laptop from a briefcase and frowned at the screen. He ran his fingers through his hair and I had to refrain myself from the urge to do the same. I'm not sure if he'd like me doing that.
He stayed glued to screen and began tapping furiously at the keyboard.

He does realise that I'm here, right? Or is he just going to give me the silent treatment?

I huffed and pulled my knees up to my chest.

Not only was he handsome, dangerous and snappy. He was also an unsociable freak.

Life's great.
