*****
I think I choked.

My eyes widened so far on my face that I looked like those outerspace aliens you see in sci-fi movies.

My heart lodged in my chest painfully. I didn't know how I felt. All I could comprehend right now was that I was the daughter of a sardonic, dick-faced, evil vampire who happened to want to kill me. Wonderful. Fucking bravo!

Imagine a random guy who you've only known for a few days ago, just announce that he's your father and also wants to use his own daughter as a sacrifice for his own conceited greed. Even worse, I was beginning to trust him.

Everybody except Dimitri and Rosanna seemed shocked. A look of unexpected disbelief etched on their faces. Only Lucien seemed to not look too surprised. We locked eyes and his stare was boring into me. He kept his usual blank glare focused on me but I knew he was just trying to convince himself that I really was Dimitri's daughter. Heck, I had a hard few minutes convincing myself. It was unbelievable. Strange. Unintended. Absolute utter bullshit. But that bullshit was true. Now I know why his eyes were familiar. They were the same colour and shade as mine.
How the hell did I not figure that out earlier?

I tried to say something but no sound came out of my mouth.

"Cat got your tongue, child?" Dimitri chortled.

I huffed angrily. He was family-zoning me now? Oh hell no he didn't. This asshole doesn't get to do that shit to me. Not after all he's done.

"Fortunately no, grandpa," I shot back at him, pissed.

He chuckled heartily sending a cold chill to circle around us.
No sound was to be heard except for the slight rustle of leaves in the wind and Dimitri's laughter.

Rosanna had a small smirk playing on her lips as she looked at me like she thought the truth was going to kill me.

Ha! Like that would happen.

The only thing that it caused me to feel was anger. Hatred. Vengeance.

"So you're really my father?" I slowly said and narrowed my eyes at Dimitri. He didn't seem hesitant about answering the question.

"Yes, of course."

I sucked in a breath. Okay. I tried to let that sink in for a moment before asking my next question anxiously. I was scared to hear the answer and I really hope it wasn't as bad.

"If you're my father then... who's my mother?"

Silence. Everybody seemed to wait for Dimitri to answer but he took his time. Lucien's eyes were fixed on Dimitri as we waited patiently for his response.

"Your mother is dead."

That was the only reply Dimitri gave after minutes.

I wasn't going to let him off with a reply our that. That was useless. My eyes stung a little as I realised that the mother I had never known, was dead. To be honest, I shouldn't really be surprised. If she was alive, I would've hated her as selfish and mean as that sounded. I would've hated her for giving me up and abandoning me for 18 years of my life and for me not being able to know my mother like every child should. But she was dead so none of that mattered right now.

"I asked you who my mother is, I didn't ask you if she was dead or alive. I deserve to know, if she's my mother," I demanded angrily at him and balled my fists.

He laughed again and shook his head.

"Oh Isadora, you really are like your mother. So stubborn and easily angered," He said with a small, empty smile.

"Well, who is she?" I bit out.

He stayed silent for a minute and stared at me. I looked him in the eye and challenged him to answer me.
He opened his mouth to answer but I cut him off first.

"I want the truth. Don't you dare lie to me," I said and gave him a dirty look.

"Oh, there's no point lying to you what's the fun in that? I prefer to see how you'd react to the truth instead. And if you must know so badly, your mother was a Deus Witch who were in charge of keeping the Celestial Bond from being discovered by humans. They were the guards of the boundary between Heaven and Earth
and were the first females created by God."

I stared at him blankly, trying to absorb the mass amount of confusing information being hurled my way. It was a shit ton to take in but if it's the truth then I would have to try and deal with it. My peanut sized brain was decided whether or not this was good information to store. Of course it was. This was who I was.
Half vampire, half witch. Not supposed to have existed.

The next question that came out of my mouth surprised me.

"Did you love her?" I blurted before I could stop myself.

Dimitri looked taken aback by this and his eyes widened.

"Once upon a time, yes. I loved your mother," He confessed.

"Why is she dead?" I gritted.

If he loved her, why was she dead? He should've taken care of her.
He should've been the one to love her more than anybody else. But he's here with Rosanna instead, he chose Rosanna over her.

"Did you find out who killed her?"

He thought for a moment.

"Yes, actually."

"Well, who was it?" I asked, wanting to know who was responsible for my mother's death. I'd kill the culprit unless he's dead already.

"Me," Dimitri smirked while my heart nearly skipped a beat, "she was in the way of my plan so I had to get rid of her but that's a story for another time."

No. The person who loved her killed.

"You bastard! You fucking killed the woman you loved for your own twisted idea of being able to be the next God?! Are you fucking insane?!
You risked something so valuable for something you couldn't have and wasn't yours to take!" I screamed at him until my diagphram told me I should calm down before I gave myself a concussion.

"Now my child, that's no way to talk to your father," Dimitri tutted, like a father reprimanding a disobedient child.

"Don't give me the 'my child' bullshit! You want to kill me! Kill! If you'd do that to your own daughter then you're not fit to be a father and I'm disgusted to be your daughter," I yelled and was aware of everybody witnessing my outbreak. I probably looked like a crazy bag lady who was screaming at a cat right now.

"I never wanted to be a father but it happened anyway. I wanted nothing to do with you, but that was before I realised you wasn't as useless to me as I thought," Dimitri said nonchalantly.
"But right now, enough talks. It's time to finish what I started."

Dean stepped forward and grabbed me by my arm and twisted it so that it cracked slightly and bent into an awkward position. I cried out in pain and dropped to the floor. My arm was excruciatingly painful and a tear rolled down my eye. Another vampire dropped out of nowhere and landed beside me. He was just as tall and muscular as Dean but had an ugly scar that ran across his forehead which seemed to give off a mean guy aura.

They both caught me by each arm and started dragging me away.

"Wait, where are you taking me? Stop! Hey, let go!" I struggled against there grip and tried to break away.

"Let me go! Lucien!" I screamed out.

Lucien began to come towards me but before he could get any closer, another two beefy vampires dropped down next to him and held him back. Jaycon growled and ran over to Lucien and together they tried to fight them off.

"Now, now. Don't do that or Isadora will be very upset with you two," Dimitri said.

I spun my head to look at Dimitri and trained my eyes in him.

"And why's that?" I questioned suspiciously.

He laughed again.

"Oh my dear, this is why. Trent, bring her to me."

Out of the shadows of the trees was a small body of a girl who was being dragged along by another vampire guard. It was only until she lifted her head that I soon realised things were beinning to get out of hand.

"Clayre?"

My bestfriend.
