I guessed that Einstein designed this prison place because it was as confusing as higher level algebra.
There were at least 35 different corridors leading to other cells, torture rooms and a random kitchen.
This place was practically falling down because mould grew on the cracked walls and water dripped down from the ceilings due to the heavy condensation.
The smell wasn't any better.
I was kind of hoping to see a door that said 'Exit' or 'Fire Escape' but I supposed that stone age dungeons don't have those.
I ran down, probably, the 26th corridor I've tried but it just led to more cells.
There was literally no escaping this heap of blocks.
I groaned out in frustration and ran my fingers through my greasy hair.
I was really getting angry and there was no way to get out of here.
Damn those unfair architects!
It seems like a lot of people were making my life miserable.
"She has to be here somewhere! Scout the entire building and send all the men to search for her, I want her alive!"
A deep voice shouted and my entire body went rigid.
The thundering sound of many pairs of feet echoed through the place.
Shit, they were looking for me! Time to run!
My brain went into escape mode and my legs immediately responded.
I dashed through a random corridor, my heart racing just as fast against my chest.
I tried avoiding the big puddles of water along the way and tried not to trip over debris that was scattered across the floor.
A cold draught went under my thin pyjama shirt and goosebumps popped up my skin but I was too occupied to care.
My breathing became heavy and frantic as I ran as fast as my legs could take me.
I hadn't had that much exercise in years.
I stayed close to the walls and made a turn down a different corridor and continued to run.
My legs were beginning to become sore and tired and my feet began to blister since I had no shoes on.
My muscles slowly began to cramp and I seriously wanted to stop but I couldn't. I had to keep going.
I ran until I came to a dead end.
Well, fuck!
I came face to face with a wall and I dragged my eyes up. There was an open window just at the top of it. If somehow I could try to climb up the wall, using the chipped out parts of the wall to get up there then maybe I could escape.
I took a step back to observe my escape route more but instead tripped when my feet hit a stray rock behind me.
But before my fall was complete, a pair of arms gripped me by my waist and hoisted me back up.
I gasped and spun around to face the person.
Oh. No.
Blondie the sarcasm-hater smirked at me.
"Going somewhere, princess?" He asked casually.
His calm tone was even scarier than his angry one.
"I was and don't call me princess," I said and crossed my arms.
"Okay, princess," He answered and took a step towards me whilst I took one back.
"Don't come near me, Blondie!" I cried defiantly and pointed a finger to warn him off.
"Don't call me Blondie and no, I'm getting you one way or another," He answered.
I tried not to snicker at the obvious pun. My mom was a huge fan of the 80s singer, Blondie and had all her records in the house. She used to always sing One Way Or Another while she cleaned the house.
"Back off," I shouted and began to get nervous.
He looked at me with a icy glare and, in a flash, grabbed my wrists and yanked me to him. He wrapped his arms around my frame and I cried out.
"NO! Let me go, asshole!" I screamed and trashed violently in his arms.
"Not a chance," He growled and a whoosh of wind blew past me and I realised he was using vampire speed.
In a few heart beats I was thrown back inside my old cell and my back hit the stone wall. A sharp pain ran through my back and I groaned.
He could've broken my spine.
I cursed silently and sat crossed legged with my bruised back against the wall. Blondie stared down at me and his eyes were black.
Like his soul.
His jaw twitched with unexpressed anger and his hands were tightly fisted.
"Dean!" He shouted and a tall guy with a buzz cut appeared by his side in a split second.
"Yes, sir?"
Blondie didn't look at him but kept his eyes fixed on me the whole time.
"Call off the men. I've the girl here," He said and I licked my lips nervously.
What was he going to do to me?
Dean nodded his head and sped off in a flash.
I kind of didn't want him to go since I was scared of Blondie here.
"You were stupid to have tried to escape," Blondie scowled, "People have tried and failed. There
are exits here but they're all hidden from sight."
"No wonder," I muttered.
I looked up at him and narrowed my eyes.
"Who are you and what do you want?" I gritted out.
He continued to stare at me. He looked busy in thought like he was trying to make up some puny excuses.
A few moments passed before he answered my questions.
"My name is Vance and it's not my place to tell you your purpose here."
Was that all he could come up with after all the time he took?
"Well, who's is it?" I asked getting really annoyed.
"Mine," A voice I recognised answered from behind Vance and I nearly choked.
Vance took a step back and I could finally see him for sure.
"Dimitri," I whispered.
No, no, no, and hell to the no!
This couldn't be!
Fuck.
Bridgeth did warn me about him but I never would've guessed that he would do this to me.
Everything was so screwed up right now.
I was only just beginning to trust him but I guess it's hard to trust somebody in this messed up world.
Trust was a hard quality to find in people.
"Why?" Was the only thing I could say.
He looked at me with fake sympathy.
"I know you must be so confused right now, Isadora, all will be explained in a while," He said in a soothing voice.
That misleading, cunning son of a bastard!
"I want fucking answers now!" I screamed and lifted myself off the floor.
I clenched my fists and stared into his eyes. He was wearing a black suit and looked straight back at me, showing no trace of any emotion in his empty eyes.
"I do too. My question is how did you escape from this prison in the first place? I'm pretty sure you were supposed to be chained," He asked and began to pace back and forth like a wolf patiently waiting to attack while Vance looked on.
"With my bare hands," I lied.
Well, I wasn't technically lying. I did escape with my bare hands with the help of weird smoke.
"Really now? Last time I checked, you weren't a werewolf or vampire so..." He trailed off.
"Last time I checked you weren't a filthy lying bastard!" I yelled.
"Is she cooperating well?" A feminine voice said behind him.
A stunning brunette with sapphire eyes came up to stand beside Dimitri. She smiled at him and turned her head back to me and gave me a hostile look.
"Is she being a lot of trouble, baby?" She asked Dimitri and laid a hand on his shoulder.
"Who the fuck are you?" I asked her.
"Do not talk to me in that tone, human," She sneered.
"Alright ladies, let's all calm down now," Dimitri said.
"You must be Isadora," She glared at me.
"Yes I am. And who might you be?" I crossed my arms.
She raised her chin up in the air.
"I don't need to tell you any of that, bitch," She said.
"Who you calling bitch, ho?" I shot back.
She sneered at me and began to advance towards me.
"Let me teach you a lesson about manners, human," She growled and lunged for me.
"Enough," Dimitri raised his voice and stuck his arm in front of Queen Bitch before she could attack me.
"We still need her, Rosanna."
