Chapter 23: Interrupted By Hamburger & Fries

Big, fat kisses to y'all for 2K reads! <3

I couldn't wait to get back to Kaitleen and Bridgeth after what I saw.  It was the most horrifying image I've ever seen.  I probably should have told Jaycon or Lucien about the murder but a part of me didn't want to tell them.  It was Lucien's hotel, by rights I should tell him but I felt like there was something more to that killing and that I needed to keep it to myself for now.

I took a long shower and let the steamy, hot water calm my nerves.  I rubbed my temples and groaned.  I don't understand why but ever since that meeting I've been getting these small shocks through my head.  They felt like minor bolts of electricity that strikes your brain now and again causing you to get migraines.

I sighed and turned off the shower, ceasing the soothing droplets of warm water.

I stepped out of the shower and wrapped myself up in a fluffy towel that the hotel provided.  I went over to the sink and switched on the hairdryer that lay beside it on the marble counter.
I quickly dried my hair and went out the bathroom to my suitcase.  We were leaving in a while and should be back at the house before midnight.  We would have dinner on Lucien's jet.  I hoped the food was good because I was starved.  My stomach kept grumbling and making weird noises like a really bad mixtape.

I snatched a white lace bra and panty, slipping them on.  Since I was travelling on a plane, I decided to go with wearing simple sweatpants and a beige sweater.  I kept my hair down and didn't bother with any makeup.

That's right.  No makeup equals, I look like shit, equals I don't give a flying Pegasus crap.

I zipped up my suitcase and pulled up its handle, dragging it out of the bedroom with me.

As I shut the door, I heard another door click shut.

I turned around and saw Jaycon hauling a big luggage bag.  If he was a normal person, it might've looked like he needed some help carrying it but since he was a werewolf, it probably weighed nothing to him since he showed no sign of struggle with the heavy load.

Damnnn, I needed some muscles like that!
Imagine all the asses I could've kicked by now!

"Hey, Iz.  You going to work out at the gym today?"  He snickered as he finished locking up the hotel door.

"No, actually.  Is it a crime to wear comfortable clothes?  Why is it you can wear whatever clothes you want but I can't?"  I glared at him.

He raised both his hands up in surrender.

"Hey just asking that's all.  No need to go into extreme defense mode, bumblebee,"  He said in a defensive tone.

"I'm not and don't call me bumblebee!"  I hissed at him and he only smirked.

"Fine, fine.  We should get going.  Let's go...bumblebee,"  He mocked and sped away before I could smash his head into the wall.

I huffed and began walking to down to the reception area, wheeling the suitcase behind me.

This time, I took the modern part of the building to make my way down to the reception area.  I didn't want to run into another murder scene.  The gruesome image was enough to last a lifetime and I considered myself lucky for managing to escape and not have my throat slit opened and have my blood collected into a bowl for cereal.  I shuddered at the thought and was glad to be alive and kicking.

I made my way into the reception area and saw that Jaycon, Lucien  and Dimitri was already there. Lucien was in a heated conversation on the phone and was pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Hey, what's up with Lucien.  Did his girlfriend break up with him or something?"  I asked as I approached Jaycon and Dimitri.

"No.  There's been a rogue attack on the a site of land that Lucien owns.  Three guards have been attacked,"  Jaycon replied and I glanced over at Lucien who looked so angry, I thought his head might blow off.

"Rogue attack?  What's so special about that land to make wolves come and attack it?"  I questioned.

I remember Lucien, Jaycon and Dimitri discussing a wood or land that Lucien was supposed to be selling in the kitchen the first time Dimitri came over.

"Well, the land is actually a wood.  A few trees that grow there are a distinct kind.  Their rarity is what makes the land expensive but it's not just that.  The trees have special properties that are useful.  I can't tell you what though,"  Jaycon answered while Lucien continued to blabber into his phone.

"Wow, sounds...boring,"  I muttered.

"Believe me, if you knew the properties of those trees, you would go to extreme lengths to try and get your hands on one,"  Jaycon told me.

"Fair enough,"  I said and crossed my arms.

"Don't let this happen again or there will be consequences,"  I heard Lucien say in a furious voice into the phone before he ended the call.

Suddenly there was a loud noise outside and we all looked to the doors.  Through the glass you could see the rain pouring down from above and the strong winds
whistled through the entire reception area.

"Looks like there's a storm approaching,"  A man sighed.

"That means we can't go back to the house.  We'll have to wait until the storm's over.  It's too dangerous to be flying in this weather,"  Jaycon announced and I was really disappointed.

I groaned inwardly.

"We will stay here for the night and if the weather improves by tomorrow then we can go back to the house,"  Lucien said and started walking back towards the direction of where our rooms were.

He looked pissed but also stressed and tired.  I could see how dull his eyes were in the light.  That wood he owns must be really special to make him this tired.

"Well, looks like you'll have to go to the gym another time, Iz,"  Jaycon sighed and hauled up his luggage bag once again.

"Thanks for letting me know,"  I rolled my eyes at him while he shot me a grin.

I turned around to Dimitri but he was already gone.  I frowned slightly.

"Hey, Jaycon?"  I called.

He turned around.

"Yeah?"

"Where's Dimitri gone?  He didn't go with Lucien because we would've seen him,"  I said, my suspicion beginning to rise.

"Maybe he took the old hallway back to his room,"  Jaycon shrugged and continued to walk on.

Hm.  Maybe.

I brushed it off and followed Jaycon to where our rooms were.

I opened the door of the bedroom once again switched on the light.

"Sorry, we couldn't have dinner.  You could order room service if you want,"  Jaycon suggested as he stepped into his room.

"That's probably a good idea because I could eat a gorilla right now,"  I sighed.

He laughed as he switched on the light in his own room.

"See you in the morning, Iz,"  He said before closing the door.

"Night,"  I said and pushed my door shut.

I sighed as I jumped on the bed and stared at the ceiling.  I picked up the vintage telephone that lay beside my bed and called room service.

"Good evening, this is room service, how may I help you?"  A female voice said at the other end of the line.

"Hello, I'd like to order a hamburger and fries for room 247,"  I said.

"Of course, ma'am.  Would you like anything else?"

"No thanks, that would be all,"  I replied.

"Alright, it will be sent to your room shortly, ma'am."

I placed the phone back into its holder and closed my eyes.

A loud noise of thunder sounded outside and I shrieked and jumped off the bed.

Yes, I may be 18 but I'm still scared of thunder and lightning.
Oh my God, no!  I absolutely hated nights like these.  Usually I'd have my mom and dad for comfort but I didn't have anyone here.

Thunder sounded again and a golden streak of lightning lit up the dark sky.

I screamed and brought my knees up to my chest, wrapping my arms around my legs.

Suddenly my door opened and a shirtless Lucien stood in the doorway.  My fear of thunderstorms subsided for a moment as I stared at his hard, chiseled body and godly self.

Now this is what I needed...

That also told me that I forgot to lock my door.  Idiot!

"What's going on here?"  He asked as he stepped into my room, closing the door behind him.

"Nothing,"  I said quickly and cleared my throat.

He raised an eyebrow, unconvinced.

"Then why did I hear screaming from in here?"

"You're just hearing things,"  I muttered, a little embarrassed.

"You're scared of thunderstorms,"  He said.  It was more like a statement than a question.

"No...It's not...I don't,"  I tried to think of what to say as he stood there looking at me.

I mean, come on.  Who wouldn't feel intimidated by this beautiful creature in front of me?

I still didn't understand why he got a tattoo of a pug.

"You think my tattoo is of a pug?"  He frowned at me.

"Did I really just say that out loud?"  I grumbled and hid my face in my hands.  I was blushing profusely.

"Yes and my tattoo is not of a pug,"  He said.

I looked up at him.  He looked so tempting right now.  Shirtless with a toned stomach, strong arms and pants that hung low on his hips.  Oh my dear Lord, this was every girl's fantasy.

Wait, what?  Isadora you creep!  Stop with those thoughts!

I got up off the bed and walked closer to him.

"I want to get some sleep so you need to get out of my room,"  I said, jabbing a finger at his chest and may I just say that it was the hardest chest I've ever touched.  Though I've never actually touched any.

"Did you just poke me?"  He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No I didn't, it was a-"

Another loud eruption of thunder boomed outside and I shrieked and jumped onto Lucien, clinging onto him for dear life.

Wowww,  I have just become an orangutan.

I buried my face into the crook of his neck and squeezed my eyes tightly shut.  My legs wrapped around his torso and my arms circled his neck.  I didn't even realise what I was doing.

Lucien's whole body became rigid and he stood there, unmoving, while I continued to cling onto him.  He suddenly relaxed after a few seconds and surprisingly he wrapped his strong arms around my small body, holding me tightly against his warm chest.

My eyes sprung open in realisation and pushed my face away from his neck.

"Lucien, I'm sorry I didn't me-"

He cut me off mid sentence when he roughly pushed his soft lips against mine and hungrily kissed me.

What was happening?  Was Lucien kissing me?!

Oh my God.  I shouldn't be doing this.  I need to stop!  But I didn't want to...  I wanted it to last forever.

His lips were so addicting and I found it hard to resist.

I was shocked and didn't move but after a while, I responded and kissed him right back.  Our lips moved together in sync.  He gently sucked on my lip and he ran his tongue along the bottom lip, asking for entrance.  I refused and he let out a quiet growl and brought his large hands to my butt and gave it a small squeeze.  I gasped in surprise and he took that opportunity to shove his tongue into my mouth.  I let out a moan which seemed to encourage him to be even rougher.

"Um, am I interrupting something?"  A voice squeaked at the door way.

Lucien and I quickly broke apart I got off of him and straightened my clothes, a deep blush taking over my face.

"I'm sorry to disturb you, sir and madam, but your hamburger and fries are here,"  The embarrassed waiter squeaked.
