I got up bright and early this morning.

Well, I sure as hell wasn't very bright since I hated getting up early.

It was 7am and I was still too comfortable in the fluffy duvet. Lucien was nowhere to be seen and I was fine with that. I wasn't expecting to wake up and see Lucien beside me anyway. It would've been way to awkward.
Does he even get any sleep?

He's a vampire. So far all the myths about vampires aren't true.

I've seen Lucien in daylight, he doesn't have a coffin in his room and, as far as I know, he doesn't have an allergic reaction to garlic.

I snuggled deeper into the duvet and sighed happily. Lucien's bed was a lot more comfortable than the one in my room.

Just as I was about to drift back to sleep, I heard a light knock on the door.

"Honey, are you awake?" I recognised the voice as Kaitleen's.

I quietly groaned. I propped myself up into a sitting position and released a big yawn, stretching my arms out. I seriously didn't want to get up. It was still dark outside.

"Yeah, I'm up," I said, my voice slightly husky.

"That's good. I have your bags packed and ready. Lucien is leaving in about 20 minutes, honey," She said.

Oh, shit!

I sprang up from the bed like somebody had put a grenade under my ass and through the door that connected Lucien's room with mine.

I went straight to the bathroom and brushed my teeth like I wanted to beat a world record.
Once I had finished, I went over to the wardrobe.

I didn't have much time to decide what to wear so I grabbed anything that was hanging on the rack which happened to be a short, white dress with thin black stripes and a plunging neckline. Something that I normally wouldn't choose or give a second glance at but I was so rushed I didn't even notice.

I pulled it on and went to find some shoes. The shoe rack looked nearly bare. There was only a few pairs of shoes on there.

Dammit! Kaitleen and Bridgeth must have already started moving some of my stuff into Lucien's room.

I grabbed the pair of brown strappy sandals on the rack, not being bothered to check for the other shoes in Lucien's room.

I quickly brushed my hair and applied a red lip gloss.
I sighed and looked at myself in the dressing table mirror. This will have to do. I really wanted to find a shirt or something to cover myself because the dress exposed a lot but I didn't have time.

I walked into the kitchen to find Kaitleen and Bridgeth chatting with eachother like usual and didn't notice I was here. They reminded me of my mom and aunt gossiping about silly rumours.

I really missed my mom and dad. And Clayre and Hanna. I missed them all so much but everything's so different now. I wished I could go back to them but I can't. I wondered do they ever think about me anymore. Have they forgotten? Did they put up posters with my picture and name on it? I felt so homesick and missed my mom's homemade peanut butter brownies and the way dad always gobbled half of them before anyone else could eat any. I missed how Clayre and Hanna would fight over the last pancake when we had sleepovers.

Miss.

You don't know that feeling until you were taken away from what you loved.

A small tear trickled down the corner of my eye but I quickly wiped it away.

"Morning," I said as cheerfully as I could, trying to disguise the shakiness in my voice.

"Oh, morning! You look so beautiful, dearie!" Bridgeth cried and they both gave me bright smiles.

"Uh...thank you. I wasn't too sure about this dress. It's a bit much I think," I admitted.

"Yes it is but somehow you pull it off wonderfully," Kaitleen complimented.

"Thank you."

I wasn't used to getting complimented that much.

"Oh right, breakfast!" Bridgeth jumped up from her chair and went over to the kitchen's small island.

"I made you some oatmeal porridge with berries and honey," She smiled, "I think you'll be needing all the energy you can get for today."

"Sounds delicious!" I said and sat down at the table.

She placed the bowl in front of me and I dug into it. I've never been a fan of healthy food because I was more of a junk food addict but Bridgeth's porridge was scrumptious and I had cleaned the bowl of its contents within 5 minutes.

"That was the best porridge I've ever had," I cried and she beamed at me.

"Well, thank you, dearie!" She chuckled.

Then we heard a car horn honk outside.

"Oh! That would be your ride to the airport," Kaitleen said as we got up.

"Well, thank you for the lovely breakfast and I'll see you two later," I smiled and they gave me a small hug each.

I was just walking towards the Mercedes when a hand grabbed my wrist.

I spun around and saw it was Bridgeth.

"I just wanted to tell you, dearie, that Jaycon, Lucien and Dimitri will be meeting you at your destination so you'll be travelling alone on the jet," She said.

I didn't really care as long as I wasn't travelling alone with Lucien.

"Thank you for letting me know, Bridgeth," I said and she smiled at me but then her face turned serious.

"One more thing, dearie. Beware of Dimitri Augustian. He is not what he seems, do not be fooled. It takes words to say the truth but only takes a look to deceive ."

With that she turned at left me. I frowned. What did she mean?

It takes words to say the truth but only takes a look to decieve.

* * * * *

I arrived at Lucien's private airport and yes. Lucien has his own little airport and private jets.

Typical rich vampires.

It was a humid day and I was trying not to sweat but the heat was really getting to me.

I was sort of glad for the skimpy dress. If I had worn a t-shirt, I would've been dead in a pool of sweat, as disgusting as that sounds.

The chauffeur, Reynold, opened the car door and I nearly fainted from the heat.

Gah! Stupid weather!

"Thank you, Reynold," I smiled at him.

"It's my job, Miss," He smiled back.

I walked up the steps of the jet glad that there was air conditioning. Inside the jet was amazing.

The seats were a cream coloured leather and it had an interior design which made it stylish and classy.

Hmmm. Not bad.

"Please take a seat, ma'am," A friendly looking air hostess was standing behind me with a smile.

"Thank you...," I looked at her name tag, "Alexa. And please, call me Isadora."

She smiled brightly.

"No problem, Isadora. Please make yourself comfortable and fasten your seat belt. We are about to take off."

The flight was boring and it seemed like millenia had passed and I was so fidgety from my ADHD but Alexa was nice, she brought me drinks and snacks to keep me occupied.

I mostly slept for nearly all the flight since I'll be needing my energy and I didn't exactly get my full sleep when I woke at seven.

Like who would?

I was lightly shook awake by Alexa after 2 hours of sleep.

"Isadora, we're about to land," She said.

I nodded and thanked her.

I looked out of the tiny circular window and saw the tops of all the buildings through the wispy clouds.

The jet began to slowly descend and I felt my ears pop.

Ugh. I loved flying but I hated this part.

I finally felt us hit the ground and sighed.

Huzzah!

After 3 minutes the jet came to a stop and I unfastened the belt. I saw Lucien, Jaycon and Dimitri outside a black SUV in conversation.
I still haven't forgotten what Bridgeth had told me about Dimitri.

The jet door opened and I walked down the steps.

It was a gorgeous day outside and the sun was shining full on. The air was hot but wasn't as humid which I was thankful for.

"Damn, you looking fine, Iz," Jaycon eyed me up and down and let out a small wolf whistle, how ironic. "Miss me much?"

"Nah, but you missed all the snacks on the jet," I joked and he laughed.

He gave me a hug which I gladly returned.

I missed him. He was like an annoying brother I never had.

There was a low growl that made us break apart and I looked towards Lucien.

He was dressed in a simple white dress shirt and black slacks. His shirt had a few buttons undone which showed off his defined chest carved to perfection.

"Nice to see you too," I shot him an unimpressed look.

"We will go back to the hotel first so Dimitri and I can have our fill of blood before we attend this meeting," He said and gave me one last look before disappearing into the SUV.

I really hoped he was joking.

"Shall we?" I turned to see Dimitri.

Jaycon had got in already.

"Yes, thank you," I said.

I was still wary of him.

He placed a hand on the small of my back and I felt a spark from his touch. I quickly got into the SUV to avoid him touching me any longer.

He got in next to me and shut the door.

Oh, crap.

Our knees were so close that it was nearly touching.

Breathe, Isadora, breathe.

Was this guy Zeus?

Who else had lightning powers?
