"You stupid bitch! How dare you do that to me?! I should kill you right now!" Diamonde screamed and her eyes flashed red.
Her tight green dress was drenched in tomato soup and her makeup was dripping off her face.
She looked like a goblin that belonged in a mental hospital. She was slightly shaking from her anger and her face started to turn red like the soup that was stuck to her.
Why didn't anybody tell me she was a chameleon?
Everybody just sat there watching the action take place between Diamonde and I.
"I can't predict when I'm going to trip, can I?" I defended myself.
I was straight up lying but I didn't care. Diamonde deserved it for everything she's said to me.
"I know you're lying you whore!" She spat.
"If you knew I was lying then why did you ask? Me, a whore? That's hypocritical, don't you think?" I raised my eyebrows at her and she fumed.
"That's enough, both of you," Lucien said in a low and stern voice.
He got up from his chair and he looked seriously pissed off.
"This dinner is dismissed and I think we know who we owe our thanks to," He turned his head towards Diamonde and I and gave us a cold look.
"Lucien! Don't tell me you're letting that piece of filth get away with this!" Diamonde eyed me distastefully.
"You are not to speak about my property like that!" Lucien shouted.
I was sort of gobsmacked. Did Lucien just defend me?
"But Lucien, she's b-"
"ENOUGH," Lucien thundered and Diamonde flinched at his tone.
"Leave now, Diamonde or I'll have someone escort you out!" he said.
She quickly grabbed her clutch off the table and hobbled away, not before she shoulder bumped me, nearly dislodging my arm.
The room was silent and all you could hear was Diamonde's heels clicking on the floor and finally the door slamming shut.
I looked at everyone around the table. Erynn sat wide eyed in her seat, Jaycon looked slightly bored like he'd seen Diamonde's tantrums a million times and Dimitri's face played no emotions but amusement was evident in his eyes.
Kaitleen and Bridgeth seemed like they were in a trance.
"You may all leave. I will have Kaitleen and Bridgeth prepare some meals to take to your rooms," Lucien announced.
They all got up and started to leave. Bridgeth and Kaitleen began to clear away the mess and I felt bad about that.
"Nice going, Iz. I've never known someone who could piss off Diamonde that much," Jaycon whispered in my ear on the way out of the dining room.
"It's one of my many talents, Jay," I whispered back, creating my own nickname for him.
"I'm guessing you have a lot," He smirked and walked off.
"Isadora! You could've gotten yourself killed!" Erynn came up to me.
"But I'm still alive," I shrugged.
She sighed and rolled her eyes.
"That's not the point! The point is that Diamonde would've had your head and stuck it on a pole if you two were alone!" She scolded.
"Welcome to the 21st century, Erynn. This isn't the Middle Ages," I declared and swung my arms out for emphasis.
"Be glad it isn't. I'm going to my room to do some painting," She mumbled.
She turned and walked away.
"Well, that was quite a show," I heard Dimitri's voice say behind me.
"I've gotten a lot of compliments about that now," I said.
He crossed his arms and looked down at me. I felt so tiny and microscopic compared to his tall frame.
"That's because it's unique," He smiled.
"Then I deserve an Oscar for that", I said and began to walk to my room.
As I was walking down, I just about managed to hear him say, "It's unique but it won't save your life."
I wonder what he meant...
I opened the bedroom door and walked in, sighing in relief.
Peace at last.
I kicked off my shoes and placed them back on the shoe rack. I grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a camisole top before heading into the bathroom. I slipped out of the dress and tugged on the clothes, happy to finally be in comfy clothes and not ones that squeezed the air out of you. I turned on the cold tap and splashed my face with the cool water. I felt calmer and more relaxed. I did this a few more times before I wiped my face with the fluffy towel.
I walked out of the bathroom before crashing down on top of the downy duvet of the bed.
Ugh.
I'm so tired.
I closed my eyes and started to drift off to sleep before I heard a door opening.
I looked over to my bedroom door and saw it was still closed.
Hmmm.
"I see you're still awake."
I shrieked in surprise and jumped off the bed. A hand clamped down on my mouth before I could make another sound.
"Do you need to be any more louder?" The voice said. I knew who it was, and I always will. Lucien.
He took his hand away from my face and I stepped back.
"How did you get in?" I asked.
"I used the other door," He said simply.
What door?
I looked to the door beside the wardrobe.
That's the bathroom door.
Then I looked towards the door on the right hand side of my bed.
That's the do-
Oh my God! How could I forget?
"And for the door beside your bed, that leads into Lucien's bedroom."
I remembered what Bridgeth had told me.
"Maybe a little warning next time," I snapped at him.
My heart seemed to be pulsing at top speed. Lucien stood there in only pyjama pants and his top half was bare, showing off his muscle defined body and tanned skin that any male model would be jealous of and a tattoo of a...pug?
The tattoo was over his left shoulder and it looked sort of like an ugly dog with its face smashed by a frying pan.
It was really scary, to be honest.
"So you're thinking of a 'next time'?" He cocked an eyebrow at me.
A small blush appeared on my face.
"T-t-that's not what I meant! I just - never mind!" I yelled and planted my face into the pillow.
My face was warm from embarrassment.
God!
Why did he have to be so intimidating?
I felt the bed dip beside me and turned my head to see Lucien sitting next to me.
"You know, I'm not going to let you off with what you did this evening," He said.
"I'm not in the mood for a lecture or maybe you're going to beat me again?" I gritted out.
His whole body tensed.
"You got what you deserved," He said in a tight voice.
"That's what you always say," I muttered and felt my eyes begin to get wet.
"It's all there is to say," He stated.
"Then leave me alone!" I screamed into the pillow.
I was acting like a spoiled brat but I wasn't exactly in a happy mood.
"Stop acting like a child!" He growled.
"Stop acting like a dick!" I shot back.
He got up from the bed and stood over me. I looked up from the pillow at him.
He was frightening to look at when he was angry. Hands fisted, muscles tense and eyes that could kill you in an instant.
"You're coming to stay in my room," He demanded.
"What?! No!" I was wide eyed.
"You're not capable of staying on your own if you keep behaving like a immature child. When you're with me, I can at least discipline you," He said, staring at me with his emotionless eyes.
"I'm not two years old!" I yelled.
"But you behave like one."
"I wonder who makes me," I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Come to my room, now," He commanded.
"Let me think about it...NO!" I pretended to think really hard.
"Then I have no other choice."
He came up to me and before I could make out what was happening, he had me slung over his shoulder so I was looking down at his behind.
Well this was an awkward position...
The world seemed to rush past and in the blink of an eye - literally - I was thrown down on his bed.
I looked around his bedroom.
It was simple but stylish. He had great taste I must admit.
It was all black, white and chrome. It was also huge, probably twice the size of the bedroom I was staying in.
"From now on you will be staying here with me. I will have Bridgeth and Kaitleen bring all your belongings to my room," Lucien
Said and walked over to me.
I was lying on the bed propped up on my elbows.
In different circumstances it would've looked like I was modelling for a photoshoot.
He stared down at me. Running his eyes up from my legs to my face.
I felt uncomfortable under his gaze so I quickly sat up in a more normal position.
"Get some sleep, I'm taking you somewhere tomorrow," He said.
"You're taking me out of this house?" I gasped.
"Don't feel so special, it's only for a few hours. I need you to acquaint me on a business trip."
I was so happy I had to restrain myself from jumping up and down on the bed.
Finally, I could get out of this house. It's only for a while but it was better than nothing.
"We will be meeting my parents and uncle there so be on your best behaviour or you'll regret it," He warned.
"Fine," I scoffed.
I feel like I'm an eight year old going to Disneyland.
I'm coming Mickey!
