I have never felt so down in my life.

It has only been 12 hours since the 'incident' I had with Lucien.

A ghostly feeling of the pain racks through my body each time I think about it and tears of pure sadness and hopelessness falls from my eyes.

How could he have done something terrible like that to me?

Did he feel any shame or regret about it?

I'm guessing no.

Why would he?

I mean, he has probably beaten lots of girls before. He's a billionaire and a busy man so he wouldn't have any time to regret anything he's ever done.
Just sitting at his big desk expecting everyone to bow down and kiss his feet.

He certainly knows how to make you feel worthless, unwanted and unloved.

As far as I see it, that's what he does best.

I sat on the bedroom's balcony, thinking about all of this.

Just staring at the beautiful gardens that surrounded this place. It blossomed with different flowers ranging from; irises, hydrangeas, roses and tulips to primroses, fuschia and honeysuckle. The smell of freshly cut grass filled the humid air. Large oak trees shaded some areas from the burning, hot sun. A large rock pool with bonsai growing around it was inhabited by bright tangerine-coloured goldfish.

A beauty hiding an ugly truth.

I sighed and decided to go for a walk around in the gardens to help clear my mind.
I got up and went to grab a cardigan to cover my wounds.

Yes. The beatings had left marks.

They were completely horrifying.

It hadn't healed properly yet. I had found a first aid kit in the bathroom and tried to clean it up as best as I could without causing myself to bleed even more. Deep, red, ugly gashes ran across my back. The tissue all pulled away, skin all ripped and shredded like someone had attempted to murder me with a chainsaw. I was lucky that he didn't damage or break my spine. I could have been paralysed for the rest of my life. I touched the scars with my fingertips and felt the uneven raised flesh. They were so frightening that every time I looked at them, tears filled my eyes.

I could never ever be perfect now.

I will always have this as a reminder of...him.

I pulled on the cardigan and walked out of the door.

The corridor was empty and I looked at Lucien's bedroom door right beside mine. It was strange to think that room was the place where I had endured my torture.

I shook my head not wanting to think about it anymore. I made my way down the corridor and the flight of stairs. I strolled into the kitchen to find Bridgeth and Kaitleen preparing lunch.

"Oh, hello, dearie! I was just going to go up to you and ask you if you wanted some lunch!" She gave me a bright smile.

"Thanks, Bridgeth but I'm okay for now," I forced a smile on my face.

"Oh, what a pity! We just made a delicious chicken salad and some grilled cheese sandwiches."

"I'm not feeling very hungry right now. I'm very sorry for your trouble of preparing it all," I apologised. It sounded amazing but my stomach wouldn't digest anything right now.

"No need to apologise, dearie! At least there'll be plenty left for Jaycon when he comes back from training," She said happily while she covered the dishes of food with clingfilm and brought it over to the fridge.

"Jaycon is still training?" I asked, leaning against the counter.

"Yes he is. He starts training at 6am every morning," She said.

"Wow! Looks like he has enough stamina to run 5 marathons," I joked.

Bridgeth and Kaitleen both laughed.

"Well, I'm just going to go for a walk in the gardens for a while," I said and walked over to the patio doors.

"Okay, honey. It's a beautiful day so make sure you enjoy it!" Kaitleen called to me.

"Will do," I called back.

I walked out of the patio doors and the rays of the sun hit my skin giving me a comforting feeling. It was a hot day and I loved the warm, fuzzy feeling I got every time it was sunny. I never liked the stormy or wet days. Even as a little girl I hated snow, while other kids were thrilled to be out building snowmen.

I slowly inhaled the air that had a small amount of pollen floating in it making my nose tickle.

I looked to my left and saw a small rose garden.

Huh. Maybe I'll walk check that out first.

I strolled down to the maze of rose bushes. It was literally a maze. The bushes were about 6ft in height and was littered with bright, crimson rose heads.
I reached out to touch it's soft petals. They felt smooth and delicate underneath my fingertips.

I continued to walk further into the maze and gazed at the roses.

I stiffened suddenly when I heard footsteps behind me.

"Well, well, well. And once again she is lost." I turned to see Jaycon with his arms crossed over his muscular chest and a playful smirk on his face.

"I wasn't lost. I was only...sightseeing," I stated and imitated his posture.

"If 'sightseeing' means walking around in circles for 45 minutes then I guess I haven't got the right definition," He raised an eyebrow at me.

"And if stalking a young lady for 45 minutes isn't strange then I guess I haven't got the right definition," I teased back and he laughed.

"I don't stalk, I observe," He simply said.

"Wow, checking me out already are we, Mr. Wolf?" I smirked.

"I thought you'd be the one checking me out instead," He smirked back and pretended to flex his muscles.

They were some damn impressive ones too. I wonder what they would feel like under my bo-

Why the hell are you thinking about that, Isadora Pallas?!

I chided myself for thinking those dirty thoughts.

"Well, unlike you, I don't act like a perv around people," I scowled at him.

"Ouch, I never knew you'd think that lowly of me," He said sarcastically and I just rolled my eyes.

"Hey I want to show you something," He said suddenly and grinned.

"Okay, so what is it?" I asked slowly.

"Follow me," He said and I followed him out of the rose 'maze'.

I was glad that I could finally get out of here. It was sort of true that I was lost but I didn't mind either. I was happy that we didn't stay there any longer because it reminded me of that scene in Beauty And The Beast where Belle and the beast were in a rose garden together.
I was the damsel and Jaycon was the beast...like literally because he was a werewolf. We could've shot a remake of Beauty And The Beast right here and wouldn't need any special effects since this was all real.

We walked for a while through the garden and came to a small clearing. There in the middle was a small infinity pool. Small marble Cupid babies surrounded it and the sunlight was reflecting off the pool, giving a magical sparkle to the water.

"Here's your surprise." Jaycon turned around and smiled at me.

"Wow, Jaycon. It's really beautiful," I said in a daze. I was mesmerised by this place. There were so many different types of gardens here that made it more interesting than Buckingham Palace or the Palace of Versailles.

This pool was surrounded by tropical palm trees, orchids and banana trees. It was definitely spectacular. I must remember to come back here and try out the pool, it looked so tempting right now.

"Come on. Let's get closer so you can see it better." He took my hand and my stomach fluttered. No guy has ever held my hand before and this was a new sensation for me. His hands were so big compared to mine and they were soft and warm.

We approached the edge of the pool and I looked down. The floor of the pool was a mosaic of a big, old dude with a beard and there was a big circle beside him.

"It's a mosaic of Vazol the Father of the Night and our creator," Jaycon explained to me as the water rippled across the image.

"It's amazing," I said sincerely.

Jaycon grinned.

"And now you get to know how good the pool feels," He said and stepped towards me.

"Jaycon, what are you do-" Before I could finish the sentence, I let out a squeal as Jaycon pushed me into the pool.

I tumbled and fell into the pool, the cool water engulfing my body.
The pool was deeper than I thought it was and I swam up and broke the surface of the water, taking in a large gulp of air.  The wounds on my back stung terribly and the pain was so strong it nearly made it impossible for me to swim to the surface.  The movement of my arms was causing the wounds to break and tear open.  I had to put my pain aside and try to get out the pool fast before I start to bleed.   Jaycon didn't need to know.

Jaycon was there clutching his sides and laughed his butt off at me.

"You're such such a dick!" I huffed, trying to stay afloat.

"I'm...I'm...oh God your face." He continued to laugh like an immature kid and I glared at him. I was soaked and grumpy.

"Jaycon! You better help me out of the pool or else I'm going to cut off your fucking dick and feed it to the other wolves!" I threatened and he stopped laughing immediately. He paled and gulped.

"You're more frightening than my mother," He said and stuck out a hand to help me.

"You're lucky that I'm not your mother then," I said and took his hand. An evil idea sneaked into my head.

In a flash I tugged on his arm and he tumbled into the water with a huge splash.

Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't have been able to move Jaycon at all but since he was only balancing on the balls of his feet and was unfocused I easily pulled him in.

I was now the one laughing at Jaycon. He just pouted at me and I found that super adorable like I was looking at a wet puppy.

I heaved myself onto the edge and Jaycon did the same.

We both got onto our feet and I took off my cardigan and scrunched it up. I threw it at Jaycon's face and it stuck onto him. I laughed again and he just growled playfully.

I was only wearing a tank top underneath and it was now soaked and was plastered onto me.

Jaycon looked at me his eyes sparkled and full of lust and he bit his lip.

Oh my Lord. He looked so hot right now. Water droplets drizzling down his muscular chest, wet and disheveled hair and biting his lip. This was every girl's fantasy.

"We should get back to the house," I said and tried to hide my blush.

I turned my back to him and started walking.

"You coming Jaycon?" I asked and turned back to around to face him.

"Yeah I wa-" His eyes widened and suddenly turned dark and demonic.

"Isadora, turn around," He ordered.

I turned around slowly so my back was facing him.

"Why do you want to look at my ba-" Oh my God! My wounds!

Shit! I forgot all about them and now he just saw them.
Crap! I didn't want him to know.

I quickly threw on my wet cardigan and zipped it up.

"Did Lucien do that?" He stepped closer to me and placed his hand on my cheek. A look of sadness, worry and anger crossed his eyes.

I nodded hesitantly.

He clenched his jaw tightly and let out a deep and frightening growl. His canines elongated and the nails on the hand, resting on my face, began to grow longer and sharper. And his eyes. Oh God, his eyes!
They had turned completely black and his grip tightened on my chin. I have never seen this side of Jaycon before and and I was completely terrified.

"I'm going to kill that bastard," His voice was low and raspy.

He suddenly shifted into a large grey wolf and towered over me.
I let out a shriek and stepped away from him, my heart hammered against my ribcage.

He turned his heads towards me and I looked into his black eyes. I could only see hatred and fury in them and that made me start to shake.

He snapped his head away from me and ran at an abnormal rate towards the house.

Oh, fuck! What do I do now?

Well, easy.

I did the stupidest thing any person could do. I ran after him.

Fuck my life.
