Part 25

Rahul took out his cell phone to send instructions to Miso and security chief Stanley. He would type one word and glance up to make sure, Ana was still there.

He was afraid to close his eyes, even for a second. Now that he found her, he wanted to make sure, she stays within his eyesight. He gave specific instructions to Miso and Stanley and asked them to come over, as soon as possible. Till then, he decided to sit and watch her.

Ana glanced at him a few times, but with the newspaper close to his face, unshaven beard, baseball cap and the shades, she didn't recognize him.

Miso drove in a big RV bus and parked it on the other side of the street, facing the coffee shop. He let Rahul know, of his arrival.

Rahul moved his base from the coffee shop to the RV bus. He asked Miso and his assistant to cover all exits and keep an eye on Ana, making sure she doesn't see Miso. Just then the dark clouds in the sky opened up, pouring in heavy rain.

Rahul started preparing a list of things he needed Stanley to find out, before they can figure out a plan. Just as Rahul was done preparing the list, couple of big SUV's rolled in, with Stanley and his troops.

Rahul handed Stanley the list, the moment he stepped in.

"Stan I need complete details regarding all the points, I mentioned in the list. Do whatever you need to do, but I need those details in the next sixty minutes. If you have to buy that damn coffee shop, do it, money is not a problem." Rahul told Stanley, as he scanned the list.

"Its doable." I will be on it right away.

As Stanley stepped out with the list and with Miso guarding Ana, Rahul pushed back his chair, closed his eyes and went back in time by one week, remembering the conversation, he had with Maya, his friend and expert psychiatrist.

One week back in Maya's office ..

Rahul explained the entire story, about him and Ana, in detail to Maya.

"I am going to find her Maya, but I don't know how to approach her. I need your expert opinion and help, in this regard." Rahul asked Maya, relaxing on the sofa, in her office.

Maya studied him for few minutes, adjusting her glass frame few times. Then she got up and paced around in the room. Then she came close to him and stood in front of him, parking her behind, against the table.

She covered his hand with her hand, "Rahul, I can understand your pain and I am sure you will find her soon." She paused for a few seconds, "Ana's case is complicated. I cannot imagine what is going through her head, without talking to her. Since, she is an orphan, it is very difficult to imagine her point of view, as it would depend on the struggles, she went through as an orphan."

"Common Maya, this is your area, you are the expert in this area. You need to help me. I have only one shot here and I want to convince her to be with me."

"Rahul, you have zero trust balance, when it comes to the amount of faith, she has in you. You threw her out two times. She is not going to believe you, no matter what you say. This is not something you can fix overnight. You have to fix a few things, before you pop out the big question. She has to believe in you, she needs to have faith in you. She is very insecure and does not believe in depending on others. You can't buy her with money. You can only bind her with love, faith and feeling of security, which you need to build over time."

"So you are saying, if I find her tomorrow, I shouldn't tell her the truth, but bring her home and gain her trust and then pop the big question." Rahul asked Maya.

"I don't think, she will even come home with you. There is a chance, she will resist or vanish again. You need to be very careful. Keep her where she is and then try to win her confidence."

"I cannot leave her out there. She and prince are in danger. Prince is the future heir and has billions riding on him. I need to keep them close and protect them. I cannot keep them secret for long."

" Ok, I get it. Then you need to find a way to bring, her and prince, in and then work on earning her trust. Be careful, too much pressure, she may break and vanish."

"Thanks Maya, I now have better understanding of the situation. I will find a way to bring her home. Meanwhile please keep this only to yourself." Rahul got up and hugged her.

"Hey, lover boy, never saw you like this. Take care and call me anytime, day or night, if you need my help." She rubbed his beard with her hand.

Maya looked at Rahul and wondered how lucky Ana was to have someone love her so dearly.

Present ...

Rahul opened his eyes as Stan knocked and entered the room with the list in his hand and gave it to Rahul.

"We got lucky. She is working alone today from 4 PM to 12 AM tonight. I talked to one of her colleagues at home. Rest everything you want is on the list."

"You sure, she won't spill the beans to Ana?" Rahul asked Stan, looking at his face.

"Nope" Stan replied confidently and Rahul knew, looking at the way, he moved his chin, that he was right. Stan worked for the Feds, previously, and he knew his trade very well.

After going through the list, Rahul let Stan know what he wanted and then, he and Stan, sat down and started making plans. After an hour of back and forth, Rahul was confident, their plan would work.

"We got lucky with the weather too. I hate rainy weather, but for our plan it is the perfect weather." Stan said, then left to make arrangements for carrying out the plan.

It took another two hours to put their plan into action. Everything was in place, before Ana's shift ended midnight. Stan had to take help of the local police department and some heavy equipment to put the plan in place.

It was raining heavily and there were no customers around, but Ana stayed till midnight, clearing and cleaning up the place, for the next business day. She opted for this shift, as there were few takers and it allowed her to stay home with prince during day. By the time her shift started , Sally was home and she took care of prince. Also it allowed her to use Sally's old Ford car to drive to work. She didn't have a driving license, as she never renewed her old license, after moving to the city. She was planning to go to the DMV on Saturday and apply for a fresh license.

She closed the shop after midnight and sprinted to her car in the rain. By the time she reached her car, she was drenched. She got into the car, started it and took few minutes to adjust her vision because of low visibility. Her car was parked behind the shopping complex. It had one way entry and one way exit.

She drove towards the exit side, but it was blocked, with signs to use the other side, to exit the complex. She turned around carefully and went towards the entry side. It was raining heavily. She was half way through, when from nowhere, a car appeared in front of her and rammed into her old Ford.

She froze for a second, then realized, she was driving very slowly, so there shouldn't be too much damage. She got out of the car as the other person also got out of his car. She was surprised to see heavy damage to both the cars. Stan rigged both the cars earlier, to maximize the damage.

The other person was way older than her and started screaming at her for driving in the wrong direction. She tried to explain him, that the road was blocked on the other side. He didn't listen, so she took him to the other side to look at the exit and to her surprise, there were no red cones and signs. The blockage was gone now. She stood there in the rain confused.

The other person pulled her into a sheltered area and asked for her license and insurance.

"Miss, can you take out your insurance and drivers license, I am calling 911 to report the accident. You totalled my car completely. It's an antique car."

It was then Ana realized the trouble she was in. She didn't understand how the road block disappeared and now the guy wants to call cops on her. They are going to arrest her for driving without a license and put her in jail. She can't go to jail. "Can we talk about this? I work in the coffee shop over there, let's go there and discuss. Please?" She requested the gentleman.

She opened the shop and asked him to take a seat. She explained her situation to him and requested to not call the cops.

"Do you have the money to pay for the damages? It's an antique car and if I don't report to the cops, the insurance won't pay the damages." He asked.

"How much would it cost?" Ana asked knowing very well, she had no money.

"More than hundred grand. Do you have that kind of money?"

"No sir"

"Then there is no point in wasting time. I am calling the cops now." He took his phone out.

"Sir, please don't do that. They will put me in jail." She begged him.

"I understand your position, but I can't loose hundred grand over it." He started punching numbers.

"Please give me few minutes. I have a baby at home." She requested him, stopping him from dialing 911.

"Do you have anyone who can help you?" He asked after few minutes. "If someone can give me, some guarantee on your behalf, I can wait." He offered slowly.

Ana knew, there was only one person who can help her - Mandy. Sally does not have that kind of money. She didn't talk to Mandy, after she left the mansion, because she didn't know what to say and didn't want to create trouble between Mandy and Ria, her new daughter-in-law.

After pacing up and down the shop, she called Mandy. Mandy's phone was ringing on the other side.

"Hello!"

"Mandy, I am Ana. I am in big trouble. Can you help me?" Ana narrated the entire event and started crying.

"Ana ... Ana .."

"Rahul! OMG! Sorry, I dialed the wrong number."

"No Ana, you dialed the right number, I am carrying her phone. Tell me what happened. Mandy is not available." Rahul knew, she would call Mandy, hence requested Mandy to forward her number to his phone, without telling her the reason.

Ana hesitated for few seconds. He was the last person on Earth, she would go to for help. But the cat was already out, he knows she is in trouble. She told him again what happened.

Rahul waited for few minutes and then spoke, "Ana I can help you, but I have few conditions."

"Mr Shah, I will repay the money in installments." She offered.

"No Ana, I don't want the money back. I want you to work for me, for six months and pay it off. Also Mandy is giving me hard time, since you left the mansion. So starting now, you and prince, will have to move back to the mansion. You would have to sign a contract agreeing to these conditions."

Ana got confused with his conditions. She tried to think his reasons behind the conditions.

"Miss, I am calling the cops. I can't waste anymore time on this." The guy spoke, after looking at a message from Rahul, to put pressure on her.

"Ana, if you agree verbally now, I will take care of everything. I am recording this conversation." Rahul spoke, putting more pressure on Ana.

Seeing the guy, trying to call the cops, Ana stopped him, holding his hand. 'Mr Shah, I agree to all your conditions."

"Great ! tomorrow you and prince should be here by 9:00 AM. You will sign the paperwork tomorrow. Give the phone to that guy." Rahul spoke, trying to sound very calm, even though, he wanted to scream and jump in joy, as Ana agreed to his conditions.

Ana didn't understand what Rahul told the other guy on phone, but his demeanor changed completely.

"Miss, you don't have to worry about anything. Mr Shah, promised to take care of everything. Your car is also badly damaged, so I will call a taxi for you and also arrange another car for you tomorrow, through my insurance." He told her and went back on his phone to call for taxi.

Ten minutes later, Miso's assistant came in with a car and drove Ana home to Sally's place. Unknown to Ana, the entire security apparatus, moved to Sally's place, to make sure she and prince were safe.

Rahul parked his car on the street and himself sat there, keeping watch on her apartment. There was no way, he was going to leave her alone.

Ana went home and described the entire story to Sally. Sally told Ana, not to worry about her car and go to sleep.

Rahul looked at the apartment above and realized, how eagerly he was looking forward to meet Ana at 9 in the morning, at the mansion.
