Seoyeon thought about it for a moment and then placed a call. “Hello, Maison Blanche, how may I help you?” Donghyun answered.

“Donghyun? Do you have a moment?”

“Of course, Seoyeon! What’s going on?”

“Do you think I could take some time off?”

“Why? What happened? Are you sick?”

“No, nothing like that.”

“Then what?”

“I’ve got another job” she took a deep breath and then continued. “And one of our girls broke her ankle. They need me to fill her spot for the time being.”

“How long?”

“At least a month.”

“A month!” Donghyun was shocked. “You want me to give you a month off, so you can work somewhere else?” he started to get angry. “And when exactly do you expect to take this leave?”

“I know it is sudden, but…they need me tomorrow”

“Tomorrow? This is more than just sudden! I can understand that you have another job, but I would think you, of all people, would give the courtesy of telling me something like this sooner.”

“Donghyun, I’m really sorry.”

“Me too. I’m sorry, but I can’t afford to give you the time off.”

Seoyeon’s chest tightened. She took a deep breath and then said “If that’s the case, then I’m sorry, but I have to quit.”

“What?” Donghyun screamed. “You’re going to quit a job you’ve had for five years over this?”

“I’m sorry, but this job is very important to me.”

“There’s nothing I can do to make you stay?”

“No” she replied immediately.

“Okay, I guess this is goodbye then. Take care.”

“Thank you Donghyun” she said as a tear escaped her eyes. “Goodbye.”

Myungsoo walked over to her and wrapped her in his embrace. She held onto him and began to sob. When she finally regained her composure, she called Minhyuk back and told him that she would take Hyejin’s place.

“Great! I’ll call their manager and let them know right now.”

“That must have been really tough” Sunggyu said.

Seoyeon shook her head. “If I had to choose between working there and dancing, I would always choose dancing.”

The month passed by quickly and before she knew it, the last day of promotions was upon them.

“Thank God we get a break after today!” L.Joe said as he collapsed onto the dressing room couch.

“Thank you Seoyeon for stepping in and performing with us” C.A.P said appreciatively.

Seoyeon smiled “It’s not a problem. I’m just glad that I could help.”

“To celebrate a successful promotion, I’ve made reservations at a great restaurant. You’re going to join us right?” C.A.P asked.

“Of course!”

“You’re boyfriend won’t mind?” L.Joe teased.

“If you’re so worried about it, why don’t you go and ask him for permission?” she stuck her tongue out at him and they all laughed.

“That’s not a problem” C.A.P intervened “I’ve invited Infinite to join us.”

“Seoyeon, you’re riding with us!” both Ricky and Chunji said in unison.

Seoyeon giggled and said “Okay.”

They all left the studio and climbed into the van. They laughed and joked the whole ride to their destination. As they got out of the van, Seoyeon was surprised; they were at Maison Blanche.
