Eugene hummed the tune of the song as they walked down the sidewalk. He would have that stuck in his head for the rest of the day now. "Well, heartbreak for you, actually." He teased.

"All right, you've made your point. Get on your plane and go, and I will call you at the turn of the century when I've forgiven you." She smirked as she pulled his ring off of her finger. She held it up, ready for him to take it. He was goofball. She should have known he would turn this into a musical.

"Oh, Blondie," he started as he took the ring back from her. "It would never have worked out, you know." He finished as he twisted his ring back on his finger.

"Yeah, because it was dishonest." She quickly answered. He stared at her, having a different reason.

"Different temperaments," he corrected. She realized he was right and looked back down at the ground. They were acting like total opposites all day. "Look, tell him you love him. Bite the bullet."

She stared at him, wishing it was that easy. After a couple of seconds of silence, he gave her a gentle slap on the shoulder and walked off. She was left standing there, thinking about what he said. "Eugene." She called.

He stopped and turned around to face her. "What will he do?" She asked. Eugene walked slowly back to her. He didn't want to be the one to answer that question. He wanted her to figure it out for herself.

Rapunzel stared up at him, wanting to know that answer so badly. Eugene was always right. After a long period of silence, he finally spoke. "He'll choose Elsa." He answered. He had been with them all day and knew what Jackson would do.

Rapunzel looked downcast, not wanting that answer. Eugene noticed her sadness and brushed her gorgeous locks out of her green eyes. "You'll stand beside her at the wedding, kiss him goodbye, and go home," He stated. He gently placed his lips onto her. "That's what you came here to do."

He stared into her green eyes for a long time. She was too beautiful to be sad. He just wished she could see that Jackson didn't love her anymore so she wouldn't get her heart broken. "So do it." He commanded. He slowly walked backwards, not wanting to leave her. He turned around, heading into the airport.

She was left alone on the sidewalk. Was Eugene really right? Would Jackson pick Elsa over her? Rapunzel turned around and walked away, headed back towards Jackson. He was her ride back to Elsa.

Jackson stared at her. He couldn't believe what she was saying. "Eugene isn't my fiancé, Jackson. It's been over for... For ages, but he can't accept it. I'd built you up so much. I couldn't let him lose face in front of you. He could never stack up to the one man I measure everyone against." She explained. Wow. This was awkward.

"Uh... I don't know. This is strange. Um... I gotta tell you, when you... When you told me you were marrying Eugene, I, uh... I got this really strange, um..." Jackson slowly trailed. He wasn't sure how to explain this to Rapunzel. He gave a soft chuckle, finding this embarrassing. He looked out the window.

"You were jealous?" Rapunzel asked. Jackson snapped his head back to face her. She hit it right on. How did she know what he was feeing in that moment?

He slowly nodded his head while his jaw was slightly opened. "Crazy jealous," he replied. Rapunzel stared at him in shock. She couldn't believe it. "I'm sorry." Jackson added. She didn't know what to say.

They spent a long time in silence, both unsure what to do. Maybe she still had a chance. Maybe she could still win him back. "Can we maybe spend some time alone this afternoon?" Jackson suddenly asked. He looked at her and gave her a soft smile. "Would that be all right?"

They slowly rode on the ferry together. Jackson had offered to take her on a tour around Chicago. This was nice. They stared off the edge of the boat, ignoring the tour guide explaining everything. "I've been thinking a lot the last couple of days. About us, I mean." Jackson stated.

"Have you?" Rapunzel asked, hopefulness slightly present. Jackson softly nodded his head as silence passed between them. "Well, there are a lot of memories to choose from, I guess." She added as she turned around.

"It's more than that," Jackson quickly replied. He shrugged his shoulders, realizing how he sounded. "I mean, it's... It's kind of embarrassing to say it this way, but you've sort of been, you know, the woman in my life."

She stared at him, almost forgetting how to breathe. She couldn't believe she heard that tumble out of his mouth. "You've been the man in mine." She responded, looking over his face. He was just too adorable.

"And I was thinking this could be our last time alone together, you know?" He shrugged, leaning back against the railing on the boat. Oh god, this was getting too serious for Rapunzel. She had to make it a little playful again.

"Except for that hot affair we'll have twice a year." She joked as she tossed her blonde hair over her shoulder.

"Except for that," He smiled, going along with her joke. They stood in silence, smiling at each other. After a while, Jackson looked down at the ground, thinking about what to say next. "I mean, you commit to this wedding, and then... And then it seems like this momentum, and... And then you forget you chose it."

He stopped, thinking about what to say next. He didn't want to ramble. "You and I, didn't... I mean, in our relationships with our people, we didn't use the word 'love' a lot, did we?" He asked. Rapunzel softly shook her head no. "Elsie says if you love someone, you say it." He declared. He knew that was the right thing to do, he could feel it in his heart.

Rapunzel looked up at him. Eugene was right again. "You say it right then, out loud. Otherwise, the moment just..."Jackson trailed, trying to think of the right word.

"Passes you by." Rapunzel finished.

"Passes you by." Jackson softly repeated. They stared into each other's eyes. Rapunzel got lost in his bright blue eyes and felt herself leaning toward him, but he looked away. Tears began to fill in her eyes as she realized she missed her moment years ago.

They stood in silence, both not knowing what to say. Rapunzel took a shaky breath, trying to calm herself down. Damn. Why did she have to be such a fool years ago? "We don't even have a song," Jackson stated. "Elsie and I, we don't have a song. You think that's a bad sign?" He asked. Rapunzel softly giggled, knowing he was kidding.

Jackson noticed her laugh and remembered their song. "Someday," Jackson began singing, making Rapunzel hum in delight. "When I'm awfully low. And the world is cold. I will feel a glow. Just thinking of you. And the way you look. Tonight." He sang.

She smiled at him, loving how he remembered their song. She loved his sweet, angelic voice. "Is your dancing card filled?" He suddenly questioned.

"Oh, well, I'd have to check. You know, I keep it on MacBook Pro these days." She teased.

"Is that right?" He grinned. He took her hand and pulled her close. They began dancing, just like they would have years ago. Jackson began singing again. "With each word. Your tenderness grows. Tearing my fears apart. With each laugh that wrinkles your nose. Touches my foolish heart."

Rapunzel leaned her chin into his shoulder, listening to his soothing voice sing into her ear. She closed her eyes, feeling his heart beat against hers. God, couldn't it be like this forever? She began to silently cry. Why? Why was he so perfect? She wiped away her tears, hoping he would never see her cry.

Two little girls giggled in the distance. They whispered to each other about how they wished to find true love like that. They watched Jackson sing to her and twirl her around on the boat. Rapunzel's head never left his shoulder.
