Rapunzel walked into the Delle Companies. She wondered around the building, trying to find Elsa's dad. Everything was busy since Elsa's wedding was nearby and her father wanted everything done in time. She spotted him in a meeting and waved in the open door. "Oh, excuse me. Excuse me," Walter stated as he walked towards Rapunzel. "Hi."
"Hi." Rapunzel nervously chuckled. God, this was so strange.
"I thought Jackson was picking me up." He smiled as he held out his hand. He was surprised to Rapunzel into the office, but things could have gotten busy. He learned to just roll with the flow this weekend.
"Well, I said I'd drop you at the stag. He's got a million things to do. Sort of unofficial best man." She replied as she shook his hand. He hummed, understanding what she was getting at. Wedding were always hectic, especially when you were in it.
"Yes, of course," He softly chuckled. "Well, Els said, um, when Jackson turned the job down that, um, there was no friction." He stated, trying not to get into an awkward silence.
"Friction? No." Rapunzel responded. What a lying little brat. There were tears and shouting. There was even the threat of calling off the marriage! No friction, huh?
"Good. I haven't, uh, caused a problem, have I?" Walter asked. He wanted to make sure everything was good with Jackson and Elsa. He knew his little girl loved him and he wanted what was best for them.
"No, you haven't. Well, n-nobody has." She stuttered. Great. Way to sound sooo convincing, Raps. Gold star for you!
"Listen, you're just a little bit early." He started. He didn't want to sound rude and make her wait, but he had a few things he still had to do before the wedding.
"Actually, I needed to make some phone calls. Would it be possible to use your office?" Rapunzel asked in her sweetest voice.
"Of course! Right at the end of the hall on your left," Walter explained. She thanked him and walked towards her destination. "Take you time!" He called. She took a few shaky breaths, trying to calm herself before she entered the room.
She sat down at his desk. "Okay." She sighed as she tossed her purse to the side. She rolled her chair forward towards the computer as she took a few deep breaths. Man, this was nerve wracking.
"E-mail," She panted as she clicked on the screen. "New letter." She stated. She decided to repeat herself as she went through the steps so she wouldn't get lost. The computer opened a new email as she pulled out a sheet of paper. She unwrinkled it, trying to lay it flat.
She cleared her throat and began typing. Her fingers were trembling as she tapped them against the keys. "'To Eric Isaacson, Senior Editor, Sportmagazine. From Walter Delle.'" She began.
God she was so nervous. She took another shaky breath, trying to calm her heart rate. She thought she might pass out and faint. "See, you can do this. It's easy. You just do it fast. Get it over with," She declared, giving herself a pep talk. She took a deep inhale. "It's like it never happened."
Eric,
I need a favor. My daughter's every happiness is in your hands. I have offered Jackson Frost, my new son-in-law, a great opportunity in my company. To his own detriment, Jackson will not accept our offer while he works for you.
Suddenly, Rapunzel heard whistling down the hall. She rolled her chair to the side, peeking her eyes out of the little crack she left open. She leaned backwards, trying to see them, but went too far. She smashed to the ground with a loud bang, definitely causing people to worry about her.
She scrambled to her feet, trying to act natural. She threw the chair back up, trying to make the place seem as normal as possible. She panted as she realized it was just the janitor. She placed her hands on her hips then sat back down on the chair.
She quickly tossed her hair over her shoulders and rolled back to the computer. She let out a sigh as she looked over the paper again and started typing. She had to get this done.
My daughter joins me in this plea for your cooperation and discretion. With gratitude for your understanding.
Walter
She finished. Suddenly, she was asked if she wanted to send the email. Oh god, was she really going to send this? This would make Jackson lose his favorite job. This would make him soo upset. "Why would I send this?" She whispered. "He'd get fired."
Why did she ever think this was a good idea? She clicked no, but another screen came up, asking her if she wanted to save it for later. She let out another big sigh and hovered her mouse over "Save for later."
She stared at it, wondering what to do. Maybe she should delete it. She scratched her head and softly laughed. "It's not like I'm sending it. I'm just saving it for a few hours. Till we come back here, and Jackson can see it. Perfectly harmless."
She chuckled, thinking about it. She knew she should click that delete button. This would cause shit to hit the fan. She looked down at the paper and spotted the ring. How did that get out there? She picked up the box and opened it. She gently took out the ring and stared at it.
This should have been her's. Jackson should have been her's. Slowly, she slipped the ring onto her finger. She tapped the button, sending the screen back to its homepage. What she did was now done. At least she didn't send it.

Rapunzel stood out in the hallway, waiting for Walter. She had left the ring on and was admiring the way it glimmered on her hand. Suddenly, she heard the chattering growing closer so she decided to take the ring off. When she pulled on it, it wouldn't budge.
She saw Walter taking to someone and the ring still wasn't off! Panic began to course through her veins. She tugged and tugged, but the stupid ring was stuck! She turned around, trying to find a way to get it off.
"Uh, send out this, this, not this, this. That's it," Walter smiled as he pulled his coat on. He could finally leave the office and keep Rapunzel from waiting. His secretary smiled and nodded her head, understanding his instructions. "Oh, and by the way, I'm holding four or five e-mails that I wrote over lunch. Send those out, too." He added.
"Yes, sir."
"Bye!" He waved. He approached Rapunzel and they headed on their way.

"I can't believe this! Did you try every key?" She shouted as Jackson pulled out the key out of the lock. None of them seemed to be working. She had to get back into that office.
"It's no big deal. She just gave us the wrong set of keys." He calmly replied. He didn't understand what was so important about getting back into Walter's office. Everyone had left the building hours ago.
"No. No, there's got to be a janitor or a... Or a guard, or, you know, a cleaning woman," She panted as she began to pace around the building, trying to find someone to let them in. Guilt was beginning to take over and she felt awful for writing that e-mail. She pounded against the glass doors. "or, you know, some kind of... I mean, somebody has to be in this building!" She exclaimed.
She wandered around in circles, thinking of another plan. "I need a brick," She sighed. "I just need a brick." She repeated. Jackson watched in horror as she freaked out. He couldn't understand what was wrong.
"What is the big deal about getting this file tonight?" He questioned, grabbing her shoulders. Shit. Rapunzel had to think of a way out of this. She stuttered, trying to find an excuse.
"I'm up against a deadline." She lied. Jackson smiled and slightly laughed.
"Me, too. I'm getting married tomorrow."
"That's my point!" She shouted as she shook her hands in his face. "Everybody's gonna be so busy with more important things, and... And, um... And so this is really my last chance. If I could just get up there to Walter's office. They're right by the computer, " She pleaded. She thought she was going to cry. If she didn't delete that e-mail, Jackson would get fired. "If, um... Then I could just e-mail those figures right out, right now." She panted.
Jackson watched the terror pass over her eyes and realized how important this was to her, but there was really nothing he could do. "Tomorrow's Sunday. Nobody's doing business. Monday morning, crack of dawn, Walter'll walk you right up there." He assured.
"No." She refused. No. Monday would be too late.
Jackson gave a slight chuckled. "Give it up, kid. You can't win 'em all." He replied. He began to walk back to his car, leaving her there. Her bottom lip trembled as she looked at her reflection in the glass doors. God, she was a monster bitch. What kind of best friend was she?
