Chapter 59~ The Big Reveal

Next morning, Sana was relieved to have the itchy Mehendi off her hands and now what was left was a beautiful dark design. It stood up against her white skin. She smiled admiring her hands, then she turned around and found Saba fast asleep. She was snoring, also drooling. Sana smiled and got down the bed.

After she showered she quickly dressed into a Halter neck white crop top, blueprinted kaftan shrug and denim. She neatly combed her hair and wore white flat slippers. Taking the spare keycard, she left a sticky note for Saba on the table beside the bed.

Happily, Sana entered the restaurant and walked towards the buffet. She got the plate and filled it with toast, butter, and croissants. She was standing in the queue to get orange juice when someone chirped near her ear.

'Hello.'

Sana turned her head and found Ramiz beaming at her. She noted he held a plate too. His was filled with croissants and scrambled egg. She looked back up at him and smiled widely at him.

'Hello!'

Ramiz joined the line and stood beside her. He complimented her Henna.

'It has become nice and dark. Beautiful.'

'Thanks.' Sana replied with a smile. Before she looked away he spoke again.

'And you are looking beautiful as well.'

Sana looked at him and found him blushing.

Aww - Sana thought.

'Thanks.' She said lowering her gaze.

After they had taken juice, the two walked towards an empty seat. A small round table with two chairs facing each other. As they ate, Ramiz tried cracking jokes. Some of them were lame, nevertheless, Sana laughed. At least, the poor fellow was genuinely trying. She found him and his attempts cute. Sana laughed hard when he narrated a story of one of the customers.

'Your job is so happening.' She said brightly.

Ramiz nodded. Sana's smile disappeared as she noticed a change in Ramiz's expressions.

'What happened?' She asked, concerned.

Ramiz sighed shaking his head and looked up at her. 'Sadly, no one takes my job or my passion seriously. Now,' - He shifted in his seat, Sana looked on intently, - 'Engineers and doctors are not the only professions, right?' - He paused, and Sana nodded, then he continued, - 'Then why no one takes the other professions seriously?' He ended his statement with bitterness. Sana nodded. He looked at her again.

'You must have faced the same problem, right?' He asked. Sana nodded again. She recollected how her mother had protested her choice of fashion designing. But she had fought with her and managed to pursue her love and passion for fashion. Ramiz extended his hand. Sana looked up when he held her hand.

'We have so much in common.' He smiled at her. Sana smiled little and nodded again.

The conversation got very uncomfortable and so Ramiz began cracking jokes again. Sana smiled and then began to laugh when the jokes were very good.

'And then- Oh, Bhai.'

Sana froze. She doesn't turn around when Ramiz called Daanish towards their table. Her heartbeat increased. Then, she felt someone stand beside her and looked up. Daanish looked at her.

'Come Bhai, join us.' Ramiz said happily.

Daanish smiled, for some reason, Sana found it a little sarcastic.

'I had been watching you, guys. Looked like you guys were having fun.' He looked at Sana as he ended the statement.

Was he spying on them? - Sana wondered. To her disappointed Daanish said he will sit somewhere else. Sana watched him walk towards Nanu, she was sitting alone. She continued to eye him as he sat with his grandmother and began talking. She sighed and looked down at her plate.

'You want a refill?' Ramiz asked pointing at her empty glass. Sana looked at him and shook her head. He nodded and began eating.

In the afternoon, Saba, Nadia, and other girls decided to head to the beach. But Sana wasn't interested. She didn't want to wear a bikini again especially with Nadia around. Very enviously she thought how gorgeous she must be looking. Sana burned with jealousy thinking of Daanish and her in the waters. To distract herself, she decided to venture into the garden. It must be looking beautiful in the afternoon.

Sana adjusted her shrug as she stepped out into the garden area. There were only a few gardeners working on the plants. She smiled watching them. After spending some time in the garden area, she felt fresh. Then, she decided to go back into the room and take some shut-eye. Tonight, was the Sangeet ceremony and she was nervous about her performance. Before she could step back inside the hotel she stopped in her tracks upon seeing Daanish standing at the entrance.

He had his hands inside his olive-green Bermuda shorts and he kept looking at her. His hazel eyes pierced her, and she gulped. A moment of staring, Sana lowered her head and hurriedly began walking. Before she crossed him, very swiftly he held her arm and she froze. He pulled her, making her stand in front of her.

'Ouch! Daanish.' Sana frowned at him.

'What the hell are you doing, Sana?' He glared at her. Sana blinked confusedly at him.

'Nanu was telling you are going to say yes to Ramiz.' Daanish said bitterly. Sana was stunned. Now, she was even more confused about Daanish's behavior.

Sana looked away, - 'Yes.' - She looked at him, into his stern eyes, - 'I am thinking seriously about him. He is a nice guy and he likes me-' She winced as Daanish's grip tightened.

'You are not going to say yes to him.' He said simply. Sana's mouth dropped open.

What? Why?

'Excuse me,' - She twisted her arm trying to move her hand from his grip, but he doesn't let go, - 'Who are you to say that?' She asked angrily.

Daanish paused for a second before he said, - 'I don't know all that. I just know that you can't commit to him.'

Sana was shocked, she took a moment to compose herself, - 'Daanish, what is your problem?' She hissed angrily.

Daanish pulled her closer and she stiffened, - 'My problem is-you-you are ignoring me for some reason and not giving me any explanations.' - Sana lowered her head feeling guilty again, - 'I thought we were good friends and then I am hearing you are planning to marry Ramiz.' He said.

Sana shook her head and looked at him. She pulled her hand from his grip but Daanish continued to hold her hand firmly.

'Daanish, how does it matter to you? It is my life, and it's my choice. Yes, we are friends but that doesn't mean you interfere in my life.' Sana wriggled her hand, but he doesn't let go. He took a step closer and Sana gulped taking a step back.

'It does because I can't see you with any other man.' He replied staring into her eyes.

'Huh?'- Sana looked perplexed for a second before fixing her expressions, - 'What does that suppose to mean?' - She stopped moving and looked straight into his eyes, - 'I told you before it is my life. What is your bloody problem.' She glared at him.

'I love you, you fool. Can't you see?' Daanish replied angrily.

His words blew Sana's mind. She froze and stared in disbelieve at him. Daanish looked stunned as well.
