Rara was sitting alone at the fountain in the campus.

Her mood was down these days,after the confrontation with both Jay and Jaeyun,she decided to keep to herself to have some peace of mind.

Someone tapped on her shoulders. She looked up and saw the icy features of a tall guy staring back down at her under the sun.

"Hoon?"

"Mhmm...I am back!" He sits down next to her and hands over the ice cream bar he got for her.

She smiles a little and takes it, "You are back. How was your tournament?" She asked as she bit into her bar.

"I won." He says coolly as he pulls out the gold medal from his bag.

"Ooh..."she gives him a thumbs up as he chuckles.

"I heard about what happened...." He gingerly adds,as she sighs.

He pats her shoulder comfortingly.

"Jerks.They both don't deserve you." He mutters.

"Yeah, I hate all men now..."she says before she find Sunghoon pouting at her.

She chuckles and slaps his back, "Except you of course."

He grins and looks at her.

"I should have accepted your proposal when we were 12...aah I regret it now too!" She pouts.

"Jaeyun almost beat me up that day,you saved my life by saying no." Sunghoon recollects and laughs.

When they were younger and Hoon just joined their school,Rara helped him around,and he thought she was really pretty and asked her out on a playdate. Jaeyun was ready to pick a fight with him until Rara had to interfere and seperate them.

"It's never too late you know? Forget both of them,how about you and I just run away together?" He smirks.

She pretends to give it a thought.

"No.Never." She laughs as he pretends to have his heart broken.

"On a serious note though,don't keep your thoughts to yourself. You have me,remember that. And no,I am not scared of that Jaeyun guy now,if he does anything weird just tell me,I will beat some sense into him.Same goes for the Jay guy."Sunghoon tells her warmly.

"Thanks Hoonie..." She smiles.

Sunghoon would be someone she could always trust.

Jay was in a very angsty mood. He was frustrated. The break up with Rara affected him so much. He loved her so much and wanted to give her everything,but she kept choosing that Jake over him. He felt like the third wheel. And seeing Jaeyun being his roommate made it even worse.

But neither of them could help it. The rental agreement was already made,and breaking it would cause inconvenience to both of them. So they ignored each other and tried not to get into a fight.

He wasn't very keen on running into Rara either,so he attended his classes silently and was about to leave school just as calmly,but someone held his collar all of a sudden.

It was the guy,he despised the most right now- Sim Jaeyun.

"How dare you!" Jaeyun clenched his teeth as he spoke.

"How dare you say those words to Rara..." His fist tightened,but Jay was also strong,so he pulled away from the grip.

"Excuse me?" Jay groaned.

"A gold digger?! I ought to dig your grave this instant!" The boys were involved in a fist fight as the other students watched them,getting entertained.

This was not a kdrama,so it was rare to see the two most popular boys fighting over a girl.

"How about you? Didn't you always hurt her too? By making her feel less important and always standing her up? You think you have a right to speak here?!" Jay yelled too. He had a point too. Jake pulled back,and huffed. The memories hurt him too.

"But still...she kept choosing you,even when she was with me... Do you know how hurt I was?! I wanted to give her all the happiness but-"

"Choosing me?! I wish she did. Do you know what was the first thing that came to her mind that day?!" Jake yelled and suddenly Jay's heart started beating. He had a bad vibe about this.

Jaeyun lowered his voice,knowing others were listening. He pulled Jay and lead him away to talk in private. Once they were alone,he started speaking.

"If Rara was cheating on you...why would she run to tell you the truth about everything that happened after the day I took her to the club...even the kiss,which she accidentally gave me?? It's because she sincerely liked you and wanted to be honest."

Jay's brain stopped functioning as he heard Jake out.

"Why? Do you know what was the first thing she did after waking up? Thinking about you,and running to you...because that damn girl liked you so much!" Jaeyun yelled in frustration.

Jay closed his eyes and clutched at his hair.

He knew he made a huge mistake.

Jake grabbed his collar.

"How dare you downgrade her sincerity in such a filthy manner? How dare you make her cry?" He asked aggressively and Jay had no answer.

Jay pushed him away.

"Rara...I have to find her..." He ran away to find her before Jaeyun could speak further.

Rara's spirits were lifted after that talk with Hoon and some ice cream.

"That's right,I have so many more things to do. It's their loss,not mine." She told herself.

She was strong,no one would be able to play with her feelings from now on. Now,she was in charge.

She walked down the hallways and heard her name being called out.

She turned around to find Jay looking in her direction desparately.

"Ra..." He slowly walks up to her.

She rolls her eyes and starts walking away,but she feels herself being enveloped in a back hug.

"I am sorry...I am really sorry...I have said horrible things to you...I don't deserve to be forgived..I-" she interrupts as she breaks free from his hug.

"Yeah you don't." She calmly says,looking at him coldly.

Jay knew that moment that she became icy from that moment.

He tried taking her hands again ,but she resisted.

"Ra...you can scold me,hit me or whatever you like...but please...don't leave me..."he sheds a tear.

"Jay yah...I am not angry on you..."she says and he suddenly looks up at her hopefully.

"I appreciate your apology...Jay yah...I liked you,I really sincerely liked you...but now..."

Jay knows this is going to bad.

"My feelings have died for you. "

Jay feels a piercing pain in his heart.

Rara was slowly walking back home. Her head filled with thoughts of Jay.

His tears as he asked for another chance.But she also knew she was right.

Her feelings would never be the same for Jay again.

The butterflies were gone.

Suddenly someone grabs hold of her hand and drags her into the dark alley.

She is about to scream,but another hand covers her mouth as she is put against the wall.

All kinds of scenarios enter her mind as she has her eyes shut in fear. But a voice softly calls out to her.

"Rara yah...it's me..." It's Jake. He has her trapped between his arms.

She sighs in relief.

With one hand still on the wall by her side,he moves closer to her and tucks a stray strand of hair behind her ear. His fingers softly brush against her cheeks and linger there.

"I always stood you up,didn't see your value,always hurt you,was a jerk...."he softly says as he leans in further.

"But you were always there for me,standing by my side..."

"And now,it's my turn...I will be next to you always...my eyes will always be searching for you...my shoulder will always be there to dry your tears...and my heart...."their faces are now only inches apart and Rara can feel  his warm breath near her lips.

"My heart is going to be there to give you all the love you deserve....I love you Rara...I always have and always will."

He stared into her almond eyes as she gets hypnotised by his deep brown ones.

He leaned into kiss her.

But that's when she pushes him away.

"I don't need anyone to protect me."she coldly says and walks away.

It was not going to be very easy to melt her ice cold heart ,but Jaeyun was not going to give up.

Jaeyun went back home,to find Jay on the couch,waiting for him.

"Did you apologise to Rara?"he asks.

"It's not about you,don't butt in."Jay replies harshly.

Jake walks to him.

"Yes it is. I love her,and won't let anyone to hurt her. "

Jay glares at him too.

"I won't give up on Rara,I will win her back at any cost."

Jaeyun chuckles, "What makes you think she will ever like you again? After all you have done."

Jay chuckles too, "What makes you think,she will like you again? After what all YOU have done?"

They glare at each other.

She hated both of them now.

The playing field was even again.

Two wannabe ice breakers.

Who would melt the ice queen's heart?
