MB #3

The sun had just peeked out of the horizon, slowly awakening every little bird in its rise. The dark sky littered with glimmering tiny balls of fire was slowly starting to fade into hues of purple then to a pleasant baby blue.

Transient fluffy white clouds had replaced the twinkling heavenly bodies. Birds had just woken up in their little intricately made nests and had begun their songs as some melodious alarm for the other sleepyheads.

But it had been morning at the Kim household since way before it was morning. Taehyung was cheerfully humming his favourite tunes as he busily moved around the kitchen fixing up his parents' favourite for breakfast.

Pancakes with whipped cream and chocolate may not scream special but hey, it depends on how one makes it. Taehyung made sure to give his all after a whole lot of failed YouTube cooking videos and cook books. He either failed to catch up with them or he fell asleep.

He carefully set the two plates with the sweet breakfast on it. A stack of four pancakes on each plate with some whipped cream neatly fluffed near it and maple syrup heartily drizzled over the delicacy.

Catching a glimpse of the time, he quickly set the plates on a tray along with two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice- with a lot of pulp just how his parents liked it. Once the blond felt it was satisfying enough, he carried it to the master bedroom.

Skillfully balancing the tray on one hand, he knocked on the door before pushing open the door- cause you don't wanna see your parents do the good good, yuck! Taehyung set down the tray on the nightstand before opening the blinds of the room and let the streaks of light in.

This awoke the couple as they began stirring and sighing. "C'mon you potatoes, it's your anniversary! Show some spirit!" he hollered and this had the two sitting up. "Jeez, honey! Even the alarm's letting us sleep, why!" Yoona groaned and her son chuckled at this.

"It's your anniversary!"

"What anniversary?" Jeonghan woke up sitting against the headboard as his wife. Taehyung rolled his eyes rather dramatically and sighed, "Well, seeing you guys are still alive, it's obviously death anniversary."

Taehyung pulled away their blankets before setting up the tray on the bed for his parents. Yoona was very much taken back by the thoughtful gesture and her eyes glistened, "Oh baby, this looks wonderful!"

The blond smiles shyly, "Well, I thought I'd make you guys feel special today." She ushered him to her side to hug him and pecked his temple, "You didn't have to, honey. You make us feel loved and special everyday without even trying and that's more than enough."

Taehyung knew this but he always felt grateful. The way they put their all to raise him up so well into the person he is always made him feel he'd always be in debt to them. So he never felt it tiring to do something, anything for his parents. The lovely people who loved him so much.

When he first came out to his parents, they were nothing but supportive and only encouraged him saying: "Love is love, honey. Find yours and know we'll always love you, no matter what 'cause you're our world, our beautiful galaxy, baby."

The teenager wished his parents a happy anniversary once again before he walked away to his room to get ready for his day. Anniversary or not, he still had the fucking school to go to. Why can't there be some pandemic so the government would tell us not to get out and let me sleep like a cat, he sighed, only in your dreams, honey.

Once he was all done getting ready for school, the blond rushed down to the living room where their parents were settled. He had an apple in his hand and a glass of milk which he quickly gulped down before setting on the coffee table.

"Mom, Dad," he got the attention of the two adults who looked his way, "clear your schedules for the evening. I made you guys a reservation and this is my anniversary gift for you two." Taehyung smiled and Yoona cooed at that, her palm on her with a pout playing on her lips, "I have the sweetest baby; and the worst husband."

Jeonghan cocked his brow, pointing to himself, "Me?" The lady glared at him, "Where's your anniversary present?" she asked, her hands on her hip. Her husband gave a nervous chuckle, "I didn't know what you'd like honey and I thought we could maybe book a hote---"

"God, Dad! I'm literally right in front of you guys!"

Yoona rolled her eyes at the man, "How many more times should I bring you to Cartier and show you the ring I thought was cute, you old man?" Taehyung laughed. His mom had been dragging his dad to the jewellery to specifically show that one ring every time they went there.

Even the workers there knew what she wanted but his dad was oblivious. She was a little too obvious to go unnoticed. The man gulped; women are too complicated for men.

Jeonghan sneaked his arms around his wife's waist and kissed her shoulder, something she was weak for, "A ring can't be a price tag for my love, my honeysuckle."

The lady turned in his hold, "You and your stupid cheesy lines, I can't even stay mad at you, old man." Taehyung rolled his eyes at his parents who were about to kiss, "Still here, guys." The couple pulled away with a chuckle.

"So which restaurant are we going to, Taebear?"

"The one you guys used to be regulars at when you were in college."

The two parents grinned at their thoughtful child before pulling him for a family hug. "Make sure to be there on time, whilst I run my ass off to catch the bus, as in right now!" The parents chuckled.

Taehyung kissed his mother's cheek and hugged his dad before waving them goodbye and running for his life.

"Did the crane drop the sweetest child in the entire world in our lives or what?"

_______

As always, Taehyung had his head hanging low as he walked through the corridors. He sighed in relief as he found himself in front of his locker. He turned the combination before opening it only for it to be slammed by a veiny strong arm.

He mentally sighed. He did not have to turn to look at the face knowing very well who it was. Jackson Wang. His first-ever bully. The first asshole in his life. "Hey, tiger," the male purred in his ears, Taehyung could also distinctly hear his minions' chuckles from behind.

"Won't my Taehyungie look at me even? That's sad" Taehyung balled his fists. He knew he stood no chance against him 'cause the man was built, like really built, while he was like a little twig the wind could just blow away.

"What do you want, Jackson?" the blond asked, voice feeble, eyes focused on his shoes. "I wanna talk, darling," he smirked and waited for no answer from the other before dragging him to the restroom and pushing him into a cubicle.

Jackson's friends stood guard at the door leaving poor Taehyung alone inside with Jackson.

The blond flinched when the buff male gripped his jaw just a little too hard, "I went away for the weekend and you know what I missed?" Taehyung sucked in a deep breath when he felt the other's fingers dig into his waist rather harshly.

"I missed playing with my 'lil Taetae, didn't you miss me too?" he hummed with a smug look and Taehyung flinched as the other forced his chin up to look at him, "Look at me when I speak, you get that in that pretty 'lil head of yours or you gon' be in some deep shit with me, yeah?"

The short male's eyes widened when he saw him take off his shirt. Taehyung took all the courage in him and pushed away his bully and made a run for the door only to be pulled back by his collar.

Jackson punched his face making his lip bleed, "Didn't I tell you to stay put?" Taehyung was not having it anymore. It was meant to be a happy day and he was not ready to let someone like that asshole ruin it for him.

"What the hell do you want with me? Are you gay as well? Do you wanna date me? Fuck me? Fuck off, Jackson Wang! Fuck you! You're so pathetic, you know that? I feel rather sad for you and your parents, they have to live with the likes of you."

Taehyung wiped his bleeding lip before walking out of the bathroom leaving behind Jackson with his mouth agape. Seeing he was out the door, the blond took a deep breath before taking off running to his next class.

_____

The rest of the day was spent with Taehyung trying to avoid Jackson at all costs. He had skipped lunch and took shelter in the library where he knew would be impossible for Jackson to do anything at all since the librarian, Mr. Kang had a soft spot for the sweet student.

He plopped his bag on the carpet and himself on the couch before heaving a long sigh. No one was home and his lips curved into a smile thinking how his parents must be having a great day. Comparatively, a better day than him.

It was past dinner time and a little late. Taehyung contemplated calling his parents about where they were and if he'd have to sleep alone that night but decided against not wanting to interrupt their day.

He let out a loud yawn scrolling through the channels. It was a weekend the next day and he had no reason to go to bed so early or wake up early. As he did, his ringtone blared loudly disturbing any traces of sleep in him.

"Hello?"

"I'm calling from Seoul National Hospital."

A feeling of dread settled in the bottom of his stomach, so heavy and suffocating. Muting the TV, he sat up straight and gulped, "What is it?"

"Are you the son of Mr. Kim Jeonghan and Mrs. Kim Yoona?" he whispered a hesitant yes.

"Your parents met with an accident about an hour ago. Sorry, it took us a while to check their relatives. We need you to ....

Nothing reached his ears anymore; he could only hear the ringing as the world stopped spinning around him. Time had frozen.

He was all alone, now...
