Just a Little thing to get my creative/artistic mojo going

Tom had just returned from an assassination mission. He was given the assignment of eliminating Edd Gould.

He returned with a tattered green hoodie with a bullet hole where the heart would be including a bit of a blood splatter and out the hole, signifying that Edd was shot and he bled.

He returned to the base as a hero for killing the Green Resistance leader. A party was thrown in his honor. But Tom felt nothing. No honor, no shame. Nothing.

All the personnel enjoyed the celebration. Knowing that the threat of the resistance would soon come to an end. Tom was over at the bar, even though he was nothing more than a will-less soldier now, he still enjoyed somethings from his past, such as alcohol. he was about to request a shot of vodka when a child went up to him and tugged on his vest

"Hey mister?" the young child said. He looked down and his visor focus on the child. she was small and had little hooves and goat-like ears. most likely one of the hybrid soldier's children.

"What is it." Tom said. 

"I just wanted to know, how do you manage to do what you do?" the child asked.

"I dodge the blast and apologize for collateral damage." he said nonchalantly. The child nodded and noticed a silver wedding band on his finger.

"Are you married?" She asked

"No."

"Then why are you wearing a wedding ring?"

Tom looked down at the ring for a moment. He I was trying to remember why he was even wearing it or who gave it to him

"I... dont know." He said.

"oh, that's okay. My mommy was married once. She used to call my daddy Tommy. She said that she was very Lucky to have met him. But now he's gone..." she explained somewhat sadly.

Wait. "Tommy"? "Lucky"? Why did these names sound familiar. Tom look down the small hybrid girl again.

"who did you say your mother was?" He asked, needing answers.

"my mommy is named Riley."
