This is my entry for ArielKat's egg contest. Thought I would enter. I'm actually quite proud of the drawing, although its way better in real life.

In the tribe of the sea, an egg rests in calm waters. Coral reefs will bloom, and jungles will grow under the dragonet's wings.

And then my story.

"Typhoon! Let's go on an adventure. I'm bored." Shore called to her friend.

"Ya, one sec. I have to ask my mom."

"I'll come with you."

The two friends dived down to the bottom of the sea where Typhoon's home was.

"Mom, can I go out exploring with Shore?" Typhoon flashed at his mom.

"Ok, sure, just don't get lost, the Queen would be furious."

"Of course, thanks."

Shore and Typhoon then raced to one of their favorite spots to explore,the coral reef. There was tons of brightly colored fish and plants, and always new places to find. It was also a place where many other dragonets liked to go to hang out. There was all types of coral, ones that looked like trees, ones that looked like brains, and so many other ones.

Shore looked behind her to see if Typhoon was still coming, or if he had stopped. And then, CRASH!

Shore had bumped into one of the coral trees. It had little blue flowers on it, with weird, veiny things on the 'trunk'.

She tried to pull away, but soon found out that one of her pearl strings had gotten wrapped around one of the branchs.

"Typhoon!" She tried desperately to get his aattentiout.

Suddenly, she noticed a weird object stuck on a coral branch. It was oval, and mostly pink, with two dolphins on the darker top part, and pretty blue/green designs on the lighter bottom part.

"Oh my gosh, its an EGG!" Shore thought to herself.

Shore flashed up all of her stripes and finally, Typhoon came to her rescue.

Shore showed the egg to Typhoon.

"What are we gonna do? We should probably tell your mother." Typhoon asked.

"No. We can't tell her, shell freak! Maybe I could hide it, raise it on my own."

"Bad idea, Shore. Your mother will find out, she's a mom. They have ways. And she's the Queen. We have to tell her."

"OK." Shore agreed reluctantly. After all, he had a good argument. They had to show her mom the egg.
