Today we are going to talk about.....

CARLY! 

Carly is my OLDEST original character. I have been drawing her for 6 years. And during those years, she has gone through a few wardrobe changes. 

(My gosh this is a long chapter)

I'm not completely sure if this is the first drawing of her, but it's pretty close.

Omg first lets ignore those creepy hands XD. And focus on the outfit. 

She has orange shorts, long grey stockings, a tank top with a yellow bandana, some sweet orange kicks, And we can't forget her classic blue gem necklace.

This is going to be her main color scheme:. Blue, Orange,  yellow and grey.

Her first redesign~

I remember not being happy with the way this turned out, but still liked it enough to not have to redesign her all over again 😅.

(Oh yeah, and some of these are gonna be cut out, because I would make "paper dolls" for my sister. Apparently 8 year old me thought I could compete with my sister's love of Barbie dolls, Over pApEr.)

Still keeping that same  color scheme, I made a few design changes, that still made it look like the same character.

I thought it would be good for her to have a haircut. So I chopped some of it off lol.

 I changed the look of her white shirt and gave her blue shorts instead of orange(which is way better in my opinion.) 

I still kept the grey stocking but gave her brown shoes so her new orange jacket could stand out more. 

And I still kept her necklace UWU.

Second redesign~

I kept her short hair cuz it was easier to draw lol

Again still keeping those grey stocking, I went back to her orange shoes(because they're cute uwu) 

I kept the feel of her shirt, but changed it to a long sleeves which I think balanced out those shorts.

And for some reason I thought it would be cool to give her fingerless gloves..

Third redesign~

I guess for this one, I wanted to give her a Pokémon trainer look. And gave her some of her features back, that I left in her older drawings.

I ended up scaping this outfit idea, but kept the picture because I was proud of it.

Fourth  redesign~

Here you can see my style really changed. I went a while withought drawing anything because I lost interest, and felt nodoby liked it.

So after I got my anime drawing book, I thought I should get back into drawing again 😁

I replaced her white long sleeve shirt, with a long sleeve sweater(not that it matters)

Chopped off some hair from the previous drawing, giving her short hair once again. And put in a yellow clip to keep it from getting in her eyes.

This is actually the style I kept her in for a LONG time in. Probably because drawing it was a lot more simple, compared to the other drawings.

FINAL REDESIGN!(you know, until I get bored with it and change it again lol)

I pulled back her hair and tied it up with the yellow bandanna she had in the first Carly drawing.

I wanted to make her sleeveless again but it didn't look right, and didn't want to have her stay in long sleeves so just did short sleeves 😁.

While STILL keeping those grey stockings and her necklace.

And that's basically it. I feel like the more I redesigned her the more simpler she became.

I really do love this character with all my heart. And will continue to draw her with a smile on my face! Knowing how far she's come.

(If you liked me talking about my OC then I'll probably do it again. But not soon, because finding all that old art was hard.)

This won't be the final version on Carly, I'm probably going to change her up a bit every now and then 😅. One thing I noticed while looking through old Carly art was that I NEVER took her necklace off. I pretty sure it was supposed to grant her magical powers, but in the end. It just became an accessory.
