~Tord's pov~

I sat in my office, waiting for Thomas to come back news regarding Riley. I was hoping, since they used to have a strong bond with each other, that she would listen to him and change forms. It would be so much easier and less costly. I admit, when I first saw Riley, I hadn't expected her to be as feral as she was. It was like she was a wild animal, driven purely on instinct and rage. She was a completely different person. 

But, I noticed that she still knew who I was and who Thomas was. I could see it after Thomas and I fought with each other. She stopped growling and cowered as if she was scared or ashamed. I assume she didn't want Thomas to see her. She did have many scars. I would have felt bad if I had any sympathy.

~Tom's pov~ 

I left Riley alone and walked away, She refused to change forms, even for me. Why won't she change? Is she afraid of something? Well whatever. I have to tell Tord that I was unsuccessful but, maybe I could request some extra time with her. 

I go to his office and knock on his door.

"Enter." I hear him say.

I enter his office and close the door behind me. Tord looked up from his papers and folded with hands on top of his desk. 

"What can I help you with, Thomas?"

I stiffened and sighed,

"Riley wont change out of her Wolf form."

Tord lifted and eyebrow in curiosity, I hated that look on his face. It always meant he was up to no good.

"But, I would like to request some extra time with her."

Tord looked at me as if he was contemplating something. He looked down for a moment.

"Fine. I'll give you three days. If you can't get her to change forms by then, I'll be forces to take more drastic actions."

He said the last part with a hint of venom in  his voice. What was ge planning on doing with her?

"Yes, Red Leader." I reply

I turn to leave and walk down the long wide halls that I'd grown accustom to for the past 3½ years. I walk past a few windows and look out for a moment. I looked to the left and I could she the the 10ft tall wolf, I knew as my girlfriend, still chained to the wall.

I saw a smaller soldier with a huge bowl of, what looked like Elk meat. The kitchen always had an abundance of Elk and unfortunately alot of the soldiers didnt care for the taste. I watched the smaller soldier nervously bring it over to Riley. Riley looked up and began to snarl. The soldier stopped dead in his tracks. I could tell that he was shaking. He looked and Riley and looked ar the ground for a second and saw where her paw prints and stratch marks were on the ground. He took a step, cautiously, closer and Riley's fur stood up on her back and her tail puffed up slightly.

The soldier knew that he would be in deep shit if he went and closer. He set the bowl down and slid in her chained circle. He turned around and began to walk away, but as soon as he turned his back to her, she charged. The solider saw this and began to sprint away. The chain around Riley's neck yank her back so hard that she flew up and landed on the ground with a big 'thud'. She whined a little and shakily got back up onto her feet.

I felt terrible seeing her like this. If I knew she was alive, I could have helped her. I could have kept her from turning into... this. But we can't fix the past.

~Three days later~

I was going down to where Ruley was being held. I wasnt making any progress with her. I dont want tord to do anything to--

A loud, pained, ghostly, howl snapped me out of my thoughts. I ran over to the nearest exit and saw what caused the howl. Red Leader, along with four other soldiers, was tazing Riley. She howled and cried in pain. I wanted to stop this, but as soon as she collapsed, and shifted to her human form.

"Take her to the Reserch and Testing ward." Tord ordered the soldiers that accompanied him. One of them picked her up and slung her ove his shoulder. Tord turned around, and when he saw me, his eyes went wide

"Oh, Tom! What are you doing here?..."
