(Look up the Lyrical Music Video)

Short story by Lashagore: If any of you know what AGT (americas got talent) is, here is a lil story I wrote about it. It's supposed to be super emotional...idk.

(Song: Take Me Home, by Jess Glynne- BBC Children In Need Single 2016)

She stepped onto the large stage, walking swiftly to the prominently marked 'X', taped to the wooden floor. She stopped as soon as she was upon it, facing the crowded and vast audience. She took a deep breath, taking it all in before looking to the four judges.

They were arranged in a neat line, sitting towards the stage Amanda was standing on. Two girls and two guys. The one farthest to the left leaned toward the microphone arranged on her desk and spoke softly, but with authority.

"Hello. My name is Georgia Finn, who might you be?" She asked, raising an eyebrow slightly and smiling.

Amanda smiled back, straightening her posture. "I'm Amanda Alison, and I'm from Seattle, Washington."

The judge nodded. "And what would your act be for us tonight?"

"I will be singing."

"How long have you been singing?"

"Since I was five." Amanda stood taller.

"How old are you now?"

"Eighteen."

Georgia nodded again. "What song will you be preforming?"

Amanda's lips tightened. "My best friend wrote me a song, it's called 'Take Me Home.'" Her eye twitched. "It is what I'll be singing tonight."

"Impressive, is your friend here with you?" The judge asked.

Amanda gulped, this is exactly what she had been hoping to avoid. She didn't want to get all emotional on stage, in front of hundreds of people. She took a deep breath, determined to keep it together.

"My friend, Viola, passed away recently." She said, staring straight into the judges' eyes.

"My condolences." Georgia said. The other female judge piped up.

"How did it happen?" She asked, a sad frown spread across her fair expression. She seemed to be around her twenties.

Amanda swallowed. "Viola had a rare condition of cancer, when it was discovered, she was promised at least four more months left to live."

One of the male judges, Jeffery, spoke up. "How long ago was this?" He kept a steady look on his face, but you could see the curiosity in his eyes.

Amanda said. "This was two months ago."

All four judges looked at Amanda questionably, seeing the problem in her logic. The whole audience was silent, bent with anticipation of Amanda's next answer.

"Viola was a brave spirt, and wanted nothing of this 'expiration date' as she called it. She was determined to live life to the fullest and not live in the worry of a near death."

Amanda breathed out a breath she didn't realize she was holding, then continued.

"Viola did so many amazing things these past two months, you'd be amazed. She bungee jumped off the fourth highest bridge in America, visited the Grand Canyon, swam with the sharks... and then, she skydived a two hundred and fifty foot drop- without a parachute."

Realization washed over the crowd, mourning faces stared at Amanda.

"The night before she went sky diving and evidently committed suicide- she sang me the song I'm preforming today. It was a letter to me, her family, everyone she knew- and most importantly: you."

Amanda looked back at the judges, waiting for their response. The two female judges were crying silently, wiping the tears away so their makeup wouldn't be ruined.

"That's so sad!" One said, looking solemnly towards Amanda. "When did she pass?"

"Three days ago."

"Were you planning on singing her song today, or had you practiced another?" She asked.

"I had planned to sing one I wrote myself- with Amanda, but I felt the need to share her message." Amanda concluded.

The judges nodded.

"We'll let you begin then." The first one, Georgia, said.

Amanda smiled, waiting for the music to begin. It started slow and sad, erupting across the crowd.

The lights dimmed as she started to sing.

...

Wrapped up, so consumed by

All this hurt

If you ask me, don't

Know where to start

Anger, love, confusion

Rolls the gold nowhere

I know that somewhere better

'Cause you always take me there

Came to you with a broken faith

Gave me more than a hand to hold

Caught before I hit the ground

Tell me I'm safe, you've got me now

Would you take the wheel

If I lose control?

...

Amanda sung looking towards the ceiling, as if she was delivering this message to God himself, as if pleading to him to take her home.

Tears were streaming down the judges eyes, as they stood up- clapping. Sad smiles spread across everyone's faces.

...

If I'm lying here

Will you take me home?

Could you take care

Of a broken soul?

Will you hold me now?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Hold the gun to my head

Count one, two, three

And if it helps me walk away then it's

What I need

And every minute gets easier

The more you talk to me

You rationalize my darkest thoughts

Yeah you, set them free

Came to you with a broken faith

Gave me more than a hand to hold

Caught before I hit the ground

Tell me I'm safe, you've got me now

Would you take the wheel

If I lose control?

If I'm lying here

Will you take me home?

Could you take care

Of a broken soul?

Oh, will you hold me now?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

You say space will make it better

And time will make it heal

I won't be lost forever

And soon I wouldn't feel

Like I'm haunted, oh falling

You say space will make it better

And time will make it heal

I won't be lost forever

And soon I wouldn't feel

Like I'm haunted, oh falling

You say space will make it better

And time will make it heal

I won't be lost forever

And soon I wouldn't feel

Like I'm haunted, oh falling

Would you take the wheel

If I lose control?

If I'm lying here

Will you take me home?

Could you take care

Of a broken soul?

Oh, will you hold me now?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

Home

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

...

The crowd erupted in applause as Amanda finished her song. The lights brightened again, spotlighting Amanda's tearful face. Everyone quieted as the judges sat down and looked to Amanda.

"That was phenomenal." Georgia said. "I vote yes."

The next judge said. "I agree with Georgia, you did a wonderful job- it's a yes from me."

The third judge nodded, saying. "No doubt about it- you are a amazing singer with an amazing talent and purpose, it's a yes."

"I couldn't say it better, you have an amazing voice." The last one, Jeffery, said. "Yes from me."

Amanda covered her mouth, this was too good to be true.

The second female judge stood up, the audience hushed, already knowing what was about to happen. Suspense was in the air, as Amanda watched her. The golden buzzer let out a thrilling noise, as it was slammed on by the judge.

Amanda fell to her knees in excitement, raising her hands to the sky in thanks.

The judge who'd hit the golden buzzer, ran up the stage and gave Amanda a hug, holding her. Lily Mykklies held Amanda's face in her hands, wiping away the tears. "Thank you." Lily said to her. Amanda needing say anythingg, for her loving expression said it all.
