Alina had been sweeping the back streets near the East Side when she first caught wind of her. It wasn't really a true Reaper scent, but it wasn't that of a Celestial or human either. She made a mental note to reprimand Cassio, a breach in security like this could potentially be a disaster.

As she rounded the corner the scent grew stronger. She turned and turned, following that strange smell, right up until she reached a dead end.

There was...nothing. Other than a few rats that had scurried away when she approached, there wasn't a single other living being. Alina turned around to leave when she heard a quiet whimper from behind her.

A frail looking girl stood there, her eyes wild and scared. Her clothes were ragged and dark, her hair tangled and dirty. A metallic smell filled the air, and Alina knew there were Reapers nearby.
