So, I've noticed something. Let's say I wanna do a Roleplay about Royalty. If I were to do it with someone new, the Roleplay wouldn't last very long. However, if I were to get someone who I've previously had a long term Roleplay with and did the same idea, it lasts for at least a year. I think I know why.

When roleplaying with someone new, you don't know how they or their oc will react to this. You don't know what they're comfortable and uncomfortable with. If I were to present an idea I think would b interesting, it starts off as interesting and when gets boring because either mines or the others responses don't spark much of a reaction.

Roleplays last very long when you know what to respond with that'll spark this interesting reaction from the other, to keep it entertaining. I wanted to see if I was correct with this statement and tried it on different people.

For the royalty one, I did it with a random first. It only lasted about a week or two because it became more of a politician thing then actually fun, which wasn't what I had in mind. I didn't know what to put to indirectly tell the other, "Hey, instead of making this so political, let's make it fun. Make it more mythical maybe." But it didn't come across and eventually they stopped relying.

So, I went to a friend who've I had a 2 year long Roleplay with (nothuman21 ) and presented the same idea. To the day, we still are doing the Roleplay, because I've done it with them so long that I know what will spark an interesting reaction to them. Sure, I'm gonna make it confusing when a new idea is presented, but I think they know that if it comes off confusing, there's a very interesting reason why it seems this way. That what makes our roleplays last long, because we usually fill in the blanks as we go before the next idea is presented.

That's just my speculation on why this happens.
