Synopsis
A teenage boy, Light Yagami, finds a notebook where if you write someone's name in it, they die. Not only does he gain the power to kill anyone and everyone, he gains a companion, who is a Japanese demon called Ryuk. Quickly, the police and investigators try to find out who is killing all these people.

Review
To be honest, as it's a mainstream anime I had low expectations for this anime. However, it exceeded them greatly, I loved the weird yet amusing characters such as L and Light. I loved the storyline, but I didn't like the ending. I'm thankful for the original concept. I recommend this anime.
