"Hawks you've fuckin lost it, if we leave they're going to arrest him on the spot."

"No they aren't, look."
He held up his phone and the footage of me saving Kai was playing on it.

Though it did cut off once I had thrown Shirgaraki off the road which was good since my dad would've killed me if he saw the rest of what happened.

"And what about it? I defended him but that doesn't make him less wanted."

He let out a frustrated huff while I stood up along with Kai who didn't seem like he wanted to say anything.

"You my friend, are coming with me on the undercover mission. And I managed to bargain with the government to make sure if you're watching him, he can stay free."

Both of our eyes widened at Hawks proposition.

"Excuse me what?"
I was trying to prevent myself from looking speechless but it clearly wasn't working.

"Look, they saw your fight with Shirgaraki and think if you work with me and infiltrate the league that he'll believe it more."

Hawks explained while I gave a small scoff of disbelief.

"I legit schwered the guy, you actually think he'd believe that I would join them?"

"Yes, he's terrified of you. Fear makes people submit to things like this and your little love bird is going to help us."

I glanced back at Kai who was just giving us both a confused look.
He had his eyebrow raised but he didn't look offended or anything by the claim.

"How so?"
I questioned while Hawks smacked me on the head in an attempt to probably make me understand.

"You know you're one smart kid but sometimes I swear you're so dense."
"Speak for yourself."
"Your Little friend is a very prominente Dealer on the black market, with a lil push here and there from the government he'll become the biggest threat to Shirgaraki. With you by his side as well, he'll look unstoppable. That's what we need."

My head tilted in confusion now while trying to understand Hawks backwards logic.

"Come again? The government wants him to be a king pin of the underworld?"
This earned me another smack and a glare from Hawks.

"If you both become a threat to Shirgaraki he will see you both as valuable assets, I'm not quite sure he would trust Overhaul with being his alley but he would trust you and in another words me. We infaltrate and then get information and done."

"And you tell me I say things too casually."
I rolled my eyes flying into the air and sitting down while he let out a huff and turned his attention to Kai.

"Whatcha say love bird?  You fine with being my little demons watch dog for a while?"
Hawks chuckled and ruffled my hair while I turned to see Kai who was staring with a deadpan expression.

"I don't believe I have an option here in the first place."
He said sounding like his original self which was comforting.

"Nope not really, but I'm sure you don't mind it. After all this kid seems to like you quite a bit, she did almost kill 3 super villains for you."

Hawks cheered while I smacked him upside the head now in slight protest.

"You fuckin suck."
"Like I said Babybird, save that for him-"

I covered his mouth before he could finish that statement but it didn't stop him and Kai from chuckling at my reaction.

"I maybe a few years younger than you, but I'm more mature than both of you combined."
I rolled my eyes at the two, Hawks was laughing at lot more than Kai but a few laughs did escape his lips.

Hawks tried to protest while he pulled my hand off his mouth and smirked at me.

"Still you have both the best and worst taste in men, I hope you realize that."

"First of all, I could say the same to you about you constantly sleeping with fans."

"Fuck off kid."

Hawks chuckled while I just flew back to Kai who was hopefully calming down more.
Hawks was always better at the whole 'make em laugh' type thing.

"So you're okay with working with hero's now?"
I questioned pursing my lips together as I dropped down to stand in front of him.
I was pretty small in comparison which was mildly intimidating.

"As I said I don't exactly have an option."
Kai said while I rolled my eyes up at him.

"Like you don't want to work with me."

"Hey you sound like me kid!"
Hawks interrupted while I glared back at him.

"As I was saying, I'm sure you'd love working with me. At least you'll get him off my back."
I gestured to Hawks while he gave a small scoff, Kai just raised a brow at me.

"Remind me again why they're allowing you to do this, you're still in school."
He had a good point so I looked back at a sheepishly laughing Hawks.

"So I may or may not have did this behind your dads back-"

"YOU DID WHAT??!!"
I yelled now flying up and smacking him multiple times in the head while he held his arms above his head in defense.

"RELAX KID ITLL BE FINE!!"
"HES GOING TO KILL ME!"
"MAYBE BUT AT LEAST YOU WONT DIE ALONE NOW!"
"NOT THE TIME BIRDBRAIN! HES STILL GOING TO KILL ME!"

I kept smacking him while I watched Kai smile watching us bicker with each other.
It brought a smile to my face but I kept smacking Hawks because it was fun at this point.

"GET OFF ME KID!!"
"NO YOURE GOING TO GET ME KILLED! NOT EVEN BY A VILLAIN BUT MY DAD!!"
"GO HAVE FUN WITH YOUR NEW BOYFRIEND IM SURE THATLL KILL YOU FIRST!"

Hawks threw me off his head and into Kai, he did catch me.
Glaring at Hawks he just kept a smug smirk now plastered on his face.

"I still hate you."
"You love me kid, but get to banging him-"
"NOPE GO AWAY!"
"Whatever you say Babybird, like I said use a con-"
"LEAVE ALREADY!!"

He chuckled while giving a carefree wave and closing the door behind himself.
I was more red than a damn tomato at this point, Kai was just staring at me while I couldn't even look him in the eyes.

"I actually hate him."
I grumbled while Kai held me a bit tighter in his grasp, he was holding me bridal style and gazing down at me with a smile now.

"You have an interesting relationship with him."
He remarked while I sighed and nodded.

"To say the least indeed, but I'm still sorry if he made you uncomfortable. You did almost die quite a bit today."

"I'm fine."
He said simply while I just relaxed in his arms.

"I hope so, otherwise my death from my dad is going to be completely pointless."

I giggled with him for a few moments before he put me down and pulled me into a proper hug.

"Someone's touchy today."
"Shut up."
"Make me."
