*Bang*
"Oh hey kid! Think you could break it up for like 5 minutes and help your favorite hero?"
Hawks chuckled being thrown against the window by what I assumed was a few lower tier villains that could fly and I guess keep up with him.
"Sometimes I swear you are literally in my life just to make everything embarrassing."
I sighed letting go of Kai and sliding my shoes off while my darkness flowed through me.
"I'll be back in a moment, I won't keep you waiting too long I promise."
I purred back to Kai who was just grinning now while Hawks opened the window and I flew out to help him.
"I see you were having fun."
Hawks chimed in while I upper cut one of the thugs that he was fighting, there was a total of 4 of them.
It was pretty interesting since I knew the whole restaurant, including Kai was watching us.
"Yea before you interrupted."
I said throwing one of the thugs into the other one, though that wouldn't keep them down forever.
He was dealing with what I figured was the leader of the group but he wasn't taking it very seriously.
"Sorry kid not my fault, blame these idiots."
He said knocking the leader out while I sighed to myself and knocked two of the thugs heads together while they tried to hit me.
They both went falling to the ground while I just crossed my arms waiting for Hawks to finish off the last one.
We both flew at the guy and I kicked him in the stomach while Hawks knocked him out cold.
"Okay can go back now?"
I was more than a little annoyed but I couldn't help but smile while he shoo'd me off.
"Have fun, and wear a condom."
"You suck."
"Save that for that guy later-"
"Okay fuck off already."
Flying back to the restaurant I went back through the window and they were all cheering.
Including Kai who was giving me a slow clap with a grin plastered on his face.
"My apologies that took so long."
I said simply sitting beside Kai again and noticing he had his gloves off now.
"It's no problem, you really as as intriguing as I expected."
He said back while I ate a small chocolate dessert I ordered, I definitely wasn't in the mood for actual dinner.
"I could say the same to you. Though I would say if you're aiming to kill me, I would suggest at a more private location."
I said running my finger over his hand under the table.
I could feel the slight goosebumps he had along his hand while I did this.
"I wouldn't say kill. More or less, I want to make you loyal to me."
He chuckled lowly grabbing my hand fully and pulling me closer.
"I'm sure that will be one hell of a goal."
"I get what I want, you know that very well Angel."
I shivered lightly at the nickname but it didn't stop me from leaning in to kiss him.
"I'm not a want, I'll make sure you fucking need me."
I purred pulling away from him and feeling his hand twitch in mine.
This all while I could practically feel the anticipation of the people around us.
They all definitely knew who I was now whether I liked it or not.
"I hate the idea that you aren't effected by my quirk."
Kai admitted with a hoarse tone while I took a sip from my drink now trying to act as casual as possible.
"Very honest now aren't we? I'm sure a man of your caliber can deal with little old me, not being effected by your quirk."
I teased him while he gave me a small glare.
I felt his fingers fidget with mine under the table while I said this, honestly it seemed like he was finally losing that cool he had previously.
"Truly, it is startling though. Honestly I find it hard to believe a quirk like yours actually exists."
He said dragging his thumb over my hand while I took another spoon full of the chocolate dessert.
"Should I be flattered or insulted?"
I giggled while he again narrowed his eyes on me but I watched his lips twitch into a small smile.
"Flattered."
Was all he said while I let out a small sigh since I could still hear the people praising me inside the restaurant.
"You're quite popular already."
He commented taking a few small bites of his food while I just nodded.
"That's due to Hawks, he drags me around so much that I began getting press attention almost all the time."
I said simply relaxing back in the booth and gazing at Kai.
"It's well deserved clearly."
I assumed he was referring to me being able to see through his little act, and well being able to throw around thugs like dog toys.
"Save me the praise, I'm sure if you weren't considered a villain I'd assume that you would be an incredibly strong hero."
I said finishing the dessert and having my lips still linger with the taste of the chocolate.
"I wouldn't want to do that regardless."
He was cold when I brought up the idea of hero's but that was probably to be expected.
"I figure you're not exactly the type I'd assume to like media attention."
Twirling around his tie again I was honestly surprised he had let me mess with him so much tonight.
"I would prefer not."
This topic was clearly making him uncomfortable which was amusing to say the least.
"I can see that, I do have to admit that if you get into anything that has to deal with my father I won't be able to stop him."
My words seemed to shock him for a few moments but to me it was no surprise.
"Who is your father exactly?"
"Eraser, I believe you've probably heard about him."
He let out a small hum in response.
"As I said, I maybe strong and I know you are as well. But I can only assume that one of these days you'll end up doing something and getting caught for it."
Now he seemed a tiny bit offended but it didn't phase him much after a few moments.
"I believe any plans I have are full proof, you don't need to concern yourself with my safety."
What he said was probably true, I knew that but I couldn't shake the feeling that he would mess up at some point.
"If I can worry you with simply not being able to use your quirk on me, I'm sure as much as you hate to admit it you have fears."
My words seemed to ring through his ears while I tilted his head towards me again.
"I know men like you, you have everything to lose. And that's dangerous when it comes to certain things like whatever business you're in, that can be fatal."
It was simple deduction really, knowing that he was clearly involved with some crime was basic.
But understanding that he was the leader was probably the worst part.
His lips were parted like he wanted to say something but nothing came out.
Ding
I smirked at Kai before looking down at my phone and my eyes widened slightly at the message I saw.
Dad
School is canceled tomorrow,
I'll be out on a mission. Stay
home and do not come out
no matter what anyone says.
Me
Should I be concerned?
I don't think you've ever told me
to stay home even though
I have Hawks and myself.
Dad
Please just stay home.
I sighed putting my phone down and turning my attention back to Kai.
He gave me a questioning look but he still seemed incredibly calm.
"School is canceled tomorrow, it looks like I'm on house arrest since my dad has some business to handle."
I said simply while he just stared at me with a somewhat smug look.
"I would offer for you to come and stay with me for the night, but I assume you couldn't avoid that."
He gestured down to my phone while I nodded.
"My dad would have my head, in speaking of I need to head home. As I told you, be careful. I don't trust that you could keep yourself safe."
I seared slightly getting up and watching his eyes trail me.
"Angel, I can assure you that I will be fine."
He said standing beside me and lifting my head this time to look at him.
His eyes honestly felt like they were staring into my soul now with how annoyingly calm his half lidded gaze was.
"If you keep calling me that I don't think I'll suit my usual name."
I giggled softly with him running his finger over my bottom lip.
"Demon doesn't suit you, you may have the fighting power of one, but you are the farthest thing from a demon I have ever seen."
He was talking just quietly enough for me to hear him but my breath did hitch in my throat at his words.
"How does Guardian Angel sound for you then?"
I purred while he let of a breathless laugh and let go of me.
"Perfect."
