chapter six
"Yes, yes you are." I snap my head up to at him, both astonished and confused at the same time. It's like he has the ability to read my mind, and he had done just that. "You questioned that out loud, idiot. I was simply answering." He puts no mind to my scoff to his name calling. He turns away from me and looks at Kandi, glaring with his arms crossed over his chest. It's not even a cute and playful glare.
I mean, sure, he's really attractive, but he's also really scary. The color of his eyes are gorgeous, but they're cold and terrifying. The loose wisps of chestnut brown colored hair aren't enough to hide his harsh stare. I want to walk over and move the strands, but he's hate me even more than he already does now. But, no, I can't think of this anymore. But how is it that him and his sister are related? They look nothing alike whatsoever. Maybe the same nose shape. . . ?
"Why are you telling a pure about our kinds? Especially my sister?" She backs up, slightly frightened by him. He inches closer to her face, knowing damn well that she's vulnerable at that moment. "Do you want to have to be punished for associating yourself with a pure?"
He lifts his fist up into the air, as if he was going to punch her, and she quickly lifts her hands up in defense. His arm begins to twitch to where it makes Kandi flinch, but I decide to be an idiot and grab onto his arm.
"Don't touch her. What the fuck is wrong with you? What are you, an idiot?" My outburst surprises me to the point where a small gasp slips from my lips and into the open air. Any chance of saving her from impact vanishes once I let my hand go of his arm and use it to help my other one in covering my mouth.
He freezes for a moment, complexed with how I stood up to him. He surely wasn't expecting it, and I certainly wasn't expecting it either. It's strange. . . What got into me?
His lips tug into a smile. It's not a genuine smile, or one that radiates pure happiness, and instead is oozes the mind of a creep.
His hand sneaks its way under my chin and lifts my face up for me to look him in the eye. I try not to show weakness by giving off body tells that I'm afraid.
"Awe, you're adorable. You stood up to me. Not even most darks stand up to me. I like you, and we'll keep this away from Aphmau. It'll be our little secret," he tells me, satisfied with the events happening. "I'll be waiting for the time you become corrupted, beautiful."
He lets go of my chin, and I visibly show my repulse to his acts with a wrinkle of my nose and scoff. He laughs at me, amused, and begins to walk away leaving Kandi and I on our own. After he makes a considerable distance away from us, Kandi eyes me one last times and ushers off in the opposite direction that Laurance is in.

Levi's POV
Being flirted with isn't the worst thing in the world. Actually, it's actually very enjoyable. Girls bat their eyes are you excessively and tell you that you're hot or whatever in he hopes that you'll get into their pants. Of course if I went through with this, I would come off to be a terrible boyfriend. I'm a great boyfriend. So great that I have flowers for my girlfriend. I can be pure when I want to be.
"I got you flowers," I smile, handing the flowers to the small blonde in front of me. She ends up taking them and smells them with a small closed mouth smile. "I hope you like them."
"Levi, that's so sweet of you. Thank you," Alex looks up at me and twiddles the stems of the flowers around in her fingertips, a sign showing that she may be embarrassed or anxious. I can be a great boyfriend. "Maybe I think too little to you. . . even if you're chasing after someone who is three years younger than you."
Katelyn walks over by us and moves Alex's locker door away to greet her. That's when her eyes look down at the flowers in her hands, and Katelyn's eyes narrow down at them. "How did you get those?" Alex points up at me, and I instantly become nervous, and I can feel the aura around us three instantly change. "So you're the one who took those from my front yard! My dad is going to kill you. It'll be easy too especially since he's a pro wrestler and all. . . but that's if I don't kill you first."
Alex sighs, handing the flowers back over to Katelyn. "Oh Katie, just take them back. Go easy on Levi. This is why I don't need a boyfriend right now. Guys do stupid things like this-well, most guys anyway. Bye."
After she walks away from me, Katelyn turns around to face me with a devious smile. I begin to panic when she begins to beat the flowers against me, and I whimper when the thorns I forgot to take off start cutting me. Why didn't I take the thorns off? After a few hits, I dash off once I see Laurance and hide beside him, yelling that his girlfriend has gone mentally insane. He tells me that that's what he likes most about her and pecks her lips. I nearly gag in my mouth, and Laurance continues to walk away from me. This time he's without Katelyn, but I don't trust that witch for a second.
I follow him into the bathroom before sneaking a glance at the new pure who Laurance had locked eyes with only moments before and was glared at. I smirk but keep the thoughts to myself. At least, not for long anyway.
"How do you get a girl to like you?" I question him, glancing into the mirror and quickly fixing my hair. My hair is one of my best features about me. . . after everything else of course. I mean look at me, I'm hot, a great guy, smart, hella good at sports, and I have an amazing personality. Besides, I could be good in bed if I let certain people-well, you know with me. What's not to like? Nothing! "I kinda wanna see if that Lavender girl wants to be the lucky girl to be called mine. Ya know?"
"Well first off you don't give girls flowers that still have thorns on them from someone's front yard," he comments, snickering at my stupidity and his words. "Second off, stop lying to me, I'm not stupid until you but congrats on actually saying a girl that's actually your age. You know, seventeen! And third off, you make sure it isn't my sister you stupid dumb fuck. Now leave! I have to take a piss, and I don't want you watching me like a creep."
He turns away from me and instead faces in the front of an urinal. I semi give up, but decide to continue to get under his skin. He loves me. I'm his best friend. Who else is supposed to be his best friend? Garroth Ro'meave? That's funny. They hate each other. Who's he's supposed to love other than Katelyn? Aphmau Phoenix? Boringgggg.
"What about that pure girl?" I say a random name that close to hers to make him frustrated. "It seems like there's something between you two. Care to explain what's been happening between you two? Are you breaking rules by, you know, hooking up and-"
"Shut up! You're stupid and annoying. You jump to conclusions too fast. No wonder why you can't get a single girlfriend," Laurance snaps at me, hurting my feelings. "And what I do with my social, love, and sex life is none of your business. Get over yourself. I'm with Katelyn." I tell him that what he said hurts, but he doesn't seem to care much when he walks past me, flipping his hair with a simple head movement, and begins to wash his hands in the sink nearby. "Good," Laurance concludes, leaving me afterwards in the bathroom alone.
"Good talk!" I yell back, faking enthusiasm. I can just hear the eye roll.
Mission completed.
