chapter one
Walking into the school, a new aura surrounds me. It appears to be mixed of both positivity and negativity. The smile on my faces fights to remain when I realize how I have to little nothing of knowledge to do with this school. I'm a single fish who is on their own in the big blue ocean.
I spot somebody and begin to walk over to them, mustering up my courage along the way. Their wings are out and white, and she smiles when she turns around.
"Hello!" Her voice is high but cheery, and I become calmer at the sound of it. 'Maybe it won't be so bad here,' I think to myself. "You're new here, aren't you? I'm Aphmau."
"I'm Y/N. I just moved from Bright Port to here, so, yeah."
Glancing down at the piece of paper in my hand, Aphmau reaches for it. She skims over the printed words and smiles once more. She looks up and grabs onto my hand, pulling me in the direction of what I can only presume as my locker.
The lockers are mixed with the different types of angels, but the pure angels still manage to separate themselves from those who are different. 'I suppose even in such a large school everybody knows what each other is,' the thought bounces around in my head as I glance back at my white wings.
Aphmau stays by me but talks to a blonde haired male with blue eyes. He sees me staring and smiles. I stifle a quick smile and go back to opening my locker. Aphmau turns around to face me.
"Y/N, this is Garroth. Garroth, this is Y/N. She's new here."
I close my locker door, and the same closed mouth smile still present in my face. He leans hard against the a locker, and his elbow is pressed against the cold metal. His eyes are flirty, and it's hard to admit that he isn't attractive.
"What class do you have first?" he asks me, taking my schedule from Aphmau's hand. "Oh, you're in that class. It's filled with some of the most well known corrupts and darks. Just stay on our side, and you'll be fine. C'mon, I'll walk you there. See you later Aphmau."
Walking into the classroom, everything is separated for the most part. A few pairs of black and grey wings appear to be a sore eye amongst the cloud of pure white. Except, a limited amount of people have hidden their wings.
Angels are seen without their wings but most show off their wings to prove what kind of angel they are. It is normally pure Angels that do so to show their innocence.
I walk into someone and their wings are hidden. They turn around irritated at my sudden and unexpected action.
"Oh my Irene!" I shriek. "I'm so sorry!"
"You're new here," she says, flicking a piece of her hair behind her shoulder. "Stay away from me if you know what's best for you."
"Why?"
She walks away from me to her desk surrounded by corrupted and dark Angels. My heart stops when I realize that I just had my first encounter with someone who isn't a pure angel. This is one story that I will never tell to my mother. A shiver runs down my spine, and I run to the only empty desk on the other side of the room. Sitting down, I feel someone tap my shoulder.
I turn around to see a green eyed male. He smiles kindly at me, and his smile eases me slightly. Without looking at his wings, his smile tells me that he is a pure angel.
"Don't mind her," he tells me. "She really isn't that bad."
"How do you that know that?"
He chuckles, "If you look into her eyes, you'll know why. Looking into her eyes, you can tell it's all just an act to keep you safe."
"How do you know that?" I repeat my question, sounding stupid like I don't know any other words, and he visibly stiffens. I begin to panic. "Never mind, don't answer that. I'm Y/N by the way."
"Vylad."
He teacher walks in, and class begins after that.

Lunch time comes around, and I have met quiet a few people who I now think of as my friends. They had found out about my little encounter with the young angel. What confuses me though is some act depressed at the angel's mention while others appear to be disgusted by her. How strange.
I sit next to both Vylad and Liv and steal a glance towards the table containing some of the most well known dark and corrupted angels here.
"She's corrupted," Vylad says, pointing over to the angel I had a run into with to show her discolored, and what must only be slightly tattered, angel wings out on display. She sits next to both corrupted and dark angels, laughing at the dark winged, attractive, darker haired male next to her while the corrupted blue haired female next to her rolls her eyes at him and goes back to talking to the blue eyed male sitting close by to her. "The male next to her is Levi Collins. She's known as his little sweetheart even with their three year age gap. Sometimes they shelter her from us. It's a shame, really."
Liv sighs at his words, gaining attention from Aphmau, who sits next to Garroth and Taryn. Aphmau's voice is full of distaste as both her and Garroth stare at Vylad, annoyed. Taryn remains silent.
"Stop with these fantasies of yours," she says, coldly. "You know that if any of them came by us, you could change. You need to get over it and be rid of them."
When he mentions his brother, he's shot down. 'Isn't Garroth his brother though?' I question myself, confused. 'Why wouldn't he be aloud to talk about Garroth?'
That's when it happens. He room goes silent as the blue eyed male walks to us, smirking.
"Why hello there," he says, looking down at us, focusing on me after he glances around at our table. My mind says to look away and to avoid eye contact, but I can't. 'He's attractive too...' I scold myself for my thoughts.
"Go away Laurance," Aphmau rolls her eyes at him, poison spilling from her mouth. Her reaction only fuels him as his smirk increases.
Vylad grabs my now clammy hand from under the table and traces circles on the back of my knuckles. The now known Laurance catches his actions and points it out.
"Oh, did you move on already, V? And so fast too?" Laurance laughs, watching Vylad flinch at the simple letter. Did something happen between the two of them?
Aphmau repeats herself, but more angels join the dark angel. Laurance smiles at the blue haired female and dark haired haired male who is trying to cover the corrupted angel next to him with his body, but fails. He holds onto her hand, bothering many people at the table with the simple action.
He leaves after stealing the uneaten brownie from in front of me. Kawaii~Chan sighs and gives me a few of her cookies. However, the current events have made me lose my appetite.
But there's one thing, I can't help but wonder what I have gotten myself into.
