Chapter 16

It has been the rest of Christmas break. You haven't seen Dipper at all, of course that helped because he and his family was gone for most of the break anyways. Ever since you decided to never see Dipper again and practically broke his heart to keep him away from you, you felt relived. He was finally gone. You'll have a normal teenage life. Everything will be the way they were.

Well almost.

You had to go back to school and Dipper would be there but you'll know that he would stay away from you. He better.

"Dude...what did you do to Dipper?" Hardy asked.

"What do you mean?" You asked.

"One thing is that he isn't moving as well as usual. Then he got away from doing gym. Dipper loves doing gym."

You took a bit out of your food, "I've done nothing to him. He probably did that himself being a stupid ass he is."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hang in there just a second and rewind. What the heck happened at the party?"

You put your fork down, "Look, things didn't work out with me and Dipper okay? He's now staying away from me and I'm staying away from him. There and done. I gave him a shot and it didn't work. So leave me alone about it."

Hardy looks at you, "Okay then."

Then Pacifica and Gideon came up to the lunch table and they sat down.

"Welcome back my friends!" Gideon smiled.

"Yay! Back to school!" You sarcastically replied.

Gideon chuckled, "I did miss you, (Y/N)."

"I miss you guys too."

Suddenly there was a commotion that grabbed all of your attention.

"Did you honestly think you can just waltz up here?"

You looked and you could see Dipper. He had Hank Housman in his grip by his shirt collar. Hank was on his knees, looking up at Dipper in fear. Hank was another bully in school but everyone knows that Dipper, his sister, and their friends were the top.

"I-I-I..." Hand stuttered.

Dipper growled and shook him a little, "Get it through you stupid skull! How many times do I have to tell you that Monday's chocolate smoothie aren't just yours?!"

"I-I'm sorry, Dipper! J-J-Just..."

"Just what? Oh that there were only enough for me, my sister and our friends?"

"I-I just...wanting one today..."

Dipper shoved Hank into a table. You could see Mabel, in front of her friends, with a pleasing dark smile on her face.

"You never learn no matter what, don't you?" Dipper rolled up his sleeves from his shirt.

"P-Please no..." Hank quiver.

It was the first time you seen Hank shaking in fear before. Then Dipper started to pound on him. Nobody made a sound as this was happening. You only tighten your fists. Then you looked around, there wasn't a teacher in sight. Only the lunch ladies and they all just looked away, like this wasn't happening.

Why would people let this happened?

Blackmail and fear. Dipper was a powerful boy...you knew that. You could have just go up there and stop all of this but that would mean get up with Dipper. You wanted to stay away from him the craziness and evil. Sooner or later this will come back and bit Dipper back. What comes around always goes around.

"This is Dipper's third fight today..." Pacifica muttered. Then she faced you, "What happened?"

"They aren't together and or dealing with each other." Hardy answered for you.

"What!?"

"Look I tried okay! It just didn't work out! Okay?" You growled.

Pacifica sighed, "We tried...I guess he's just back to his old ways."

"Oh yay." Gideon grumbled.

"Guys look I'm sorry. It just didn't work between us." You replied.

"We know, (Y/N). You tried and that is all we asked for." Pacifica replied.

Then you glanced back at Dipper. He was finally finishing up beating you Hank. He rubbed his bloody knuckles, "Boy you do have a thick skull but luckily I can break through any skull."

You looked at Hank. He had a broken nose, a bad one, a busted lip, a black eye forming, and his temple was bleeding. He was shaking as he lay on the ground.

"Maybe this time you'll learn." Dipper growled as he walked away.

You notice as Dipper walked away, his hand went to touch his side, the side where he was stabbed. It must still hurt him.

Mable gave a pleasing and bold smile as she and her friends followed Dipper.

"Man." Gideon grumbled, "This is going to be horrible."

"You guys are going to give me the guilt trip aren't you?" You growled.

"No, no. It was your and Dipper's decision. It just happens. I'm sure we can find someone else that could get Dipper soft again." Hardy replied. Then she look at Pacifica, "Pacifica?"

"What?! Me? Oh heck no!"

"That sounds interesting. Dipper and Pacifica...Dipcifica!" You added with a smirked.

Pacifica face palmed herself, "You guys..."

"Now you know how I felt."

Pacifica sigh, "But I don't like Dipper, you do."

"I don't like Dipper. That is why that never worked out."

"Alright, alright, nobody likes Dipper okay? Dipper is just going to die alone. Okay?" Gideon replied.

"Wow Gideon." Hardy added.

"What? It's true and you know it."

You sigh, "I guess you're right. So since Dipper isn't going to be with anyone, we just have to deal with the cold hearted jerk."

"Well I don't. I'm going to be gone for the rest of the week."

"Why's that?" You asked.

"A funeral in Texas."

"Aw, I'm sorry."

Hardy shrugged, "I really didn't know my uncle but he is my mom's brother so we are going."

"Well me and Gideon are going to be gone this week also. I didn't get to go home to my parents for Christmas so we are going this week." Pacifica replied.

"You guys are leaving me alone for a week! How dare you!?"

"Sorry, (Y/N)."

You sigh, "It's fine...just I'll be bored and miss you guys."

"We'll miss you too, (Y/N)"

"Huh uh."

"No really! (Y/N)!"

You chuckled, "Just kidding."

You all shared a laugh.

The rest of the school day happened and you went home. The house seemed quieter than normal. You figure that Mom and Dad went out or still at worked. You just finish your homework and (Played Your Favorite game)/(Bench Watched Your Favorite Show) until you fell asleep doing it.

You woke up to the sound of shouting. You couldn't really hear what they were saying but they were shouting. You heard the sound of glass breaking and a sound of a slap. Then seconds later, the sound of a door slamming. You got up and headed down stairs to see what was going on. Seeing your mother in the kitchen crying.

"Mom?" You rubbed your eyes.

Mom sniffled, "Yes honey?"

She wouldn't look at you.

"Is everything alright, Mom?"

"Yes, Yes. Everything is fine...just had a small argument with your father. It's what parents do at times."

You notice that there was some broken glass on the ground, "I'll help clean up..."

"No." Mom snapped.

You were startled a little by her sudden snapped. Then Mom cleared her throat, "No thank you...I'll clean it up. It's late. Just go back to bed, okay honey?"

"Are you sure, Mom?"

"Yes, I'm sure."

"Well...Okay then..."

You hesitantly went back to your room. you had a harder time falling asleep, stuck on the thought on your parents fighting like that. But people fight all the time, so this will just blow over...right?

In the morning, your mother had a happy face on but things just seemed to get worse each day. There were more fights, later at night. Mom would always put on a happy face in the morning and would have more make up on, you noticed. You even caught her, when you went home for lunch to just to see if everything was truly alright and they were, with bruises, cuts, and swells.

You didn't know what to think or do. You didn't want to think that someone was abusing your mother but deep down you knew. You didn't know who to talk to someone about it. All of your friends were gone this week, and you wanted to talk to someone before you talk to your parents.

School wasn't helping as much either. The worry and stress of your mother just got in the way. There was even a thought about talking to Dipper...that was a really deep thought that came up at the near end of the week. You just pushed it away because you are NOT going to talk to him. It wasn't worth it.

So finally on Thursday night, you got home and were going to talk to Mom about the abusing.

"Mom? Mom, I'm home." You called at in the dark house.

There was no answer.

"Mom? Dad?"

You started to walk through the house and the only light was the kitchen. The place was a mess. There was glass, blood, and water, you think, was all over the place. The fridge was even opened with spilled milk that oozed out of the fridge.

"Mom?" You asked with fear in your voice.

"You're home early." A voice came behind you.

You yelped as you turn around and saw your dad. You started to breathe easily, "Dad, you scared me."

Then you notice your Dad's condition. His clothes were all wrinkling, his faced seemed paled and lifeless, and his eyes were blood shot red. "Dad?" You questioned.

He came up a little closer to you, his breathe smelt like alcohol.

"Dad? Have you been drinking?" You questioned, taking a step back.

"What kind of question is that?! Are you stupid?!" Dad snapped, he stumbled a little as he started to walk towards you.

"Dad...what's going on? What happened to you? Where's Mom?" You demanded.

"You ask too much questions!"

Dad shoved you to the ground. You cried out in pain as glass dug into you elbow.

"Your mother is gone...now it is just me and you."
