Alfred gets kidnapped while serving in the military and the other nations save him

_____________________________________________________

America has always been known as the nation for the people. He was extremely good at making friends, negotiating trades, and had a very likable personality. He was known to always be there for anyone who needed him, whether friend or foe. He was just the type of guy who was always so fun to be around. He had an awesome laugh that turned the grayest skies blue. He threw the most fun parties out of all the nations and invited everybody, no matter their current political situation. He was an amazing and compassionate man who loved every soul on the planet.

This meant he, being a people person, would lead him to do things no other nation would dare to imagine. One thing that made all the nations hurt was when he would go off to war with his average citizen. It didn't have to be any major conflict, just regular war applied as well. Many nations stopped getting involved in wars after World War II, so one could only think of the nations' faces when Alfred said he was going back into battle during the times of Korea and Vietnam. When Vietnam ended and Alfred came home he said he would not be going back into a war zone anytime soon, to which Liên gave him in a tight hug and both of them apologized. Many nations were relieved at the declaration, but it was shorted lived.

After 9/11 Alfred began to go on a deployment every few years. It would only last a couple of months due to his national duties, but it scared the nations none-the-less. Anytime America's coming home letter was sent to Canada, the nations would throw a huge party to celebrate his return. Canada always opened the letter at emergency meetings so everybody would already be together to start planning. This one occasion was no exception as Canada had received a letter from the US military and scheduled an important meeting. Only this letter was not what they normally got, nor what they desired to hear.

NEW YORK CITY
CONFERENCE CENTER

The nations all gathered in the room, happily jumping in their seats. Even the ever stoic Sweden and serious Germany wore smiles on their faces. Many nations began to talk about the party details: what kind of cake would Austria and Switzerland bake, who would pick Alfred up from the airport, what kind of decorations would they have? The conference hall seemed livelier than ever before. Canada finally entered the room with the letter in hand. He walked up to the podium and tried fruitlessly to get everyone's attention.

"Excuse me...I have the letter aboot Alfred...Excuse me?"

"EVERYBODY SHUT UP!" Germany yelled as the crowd of nations immediately silenced, "Let Matthew speak!" Germany looked to the podium.

"Thanks, Ludwig," Matthew then held up the envelope, "let's see when Alfie's coming home!" Canada began to open the letter and disposed of its envelope. He skimmed the letter quickly, trying to find the date of his brother's returning flight.

His breath hitched in his throat as he double-checked what he had just read. His world began to quickly crumble around him and the nations' voices echoed into nothing. Matthew had begun to tear up, which made France and England spring up and run to him. France was able to catch his wavering son as Matthew fell to his knees. He still clutched the letter, crinkling the pristine paper. England gently untwined it from Canada's death grip and straightened out the wrinkles.

"Ve~ What does it say?" Italy asked nervously. He held onto Germany's hand tightly, for emotional support. England read the letter and felt frozen, but he composed himself quickly and swallowed the lump in his throat.

"Canada,

I am sorry to report that your brother, the United States of America, has been captured as of January 20th, 2020. Due to a lack of information, we have failed to locate him. Please accept our sympathies. I will write more to you upon receiving further information in regards to his status.

My Best Regards,

CSM Brian Barker"

The entire room was silent for a moment. Nobody knew what they could say upon hearing the news from England. The quietness was suffocating the group, so Germany decided to break it.

"Ve vill rescue him," he ordered.

"Ve~ Yea! We will save America!"

"I wish to help as werr," Japan stood up with a stern fire in his eyes.

"Count me in, aru," China nodded in affirmation. Russia's aura boomed from his body as he rose from his seat.

"I will bash their heads in with my pipe for taking him, da?" Russia's claim sent a chill through the room. The nations began to plan their rescue mission: Operation Saving Freedom.

WITH AMERICA

America had been electrocuted for what felt like the billionth time by the soldiers. His voice grew raspy from screaming in pain and his eyes drooped to his cheeks. They were about to electrocute again and he prepared for the shock, but it didn't come. The group looked and saw their makeshift electric chair was out of power. One of the larger soldiers unhooked the car battery and said something in his own tongue. America was too out of it to even try to decipher their words, but if he had to guess they were going to get a new car battery to continue his torture. The group left him alone in the room, tied to his chair with the rope burn rubbing his skin raw. A woman in a black burka walked in with a small metal bucket and a ladle. She knelt beside him and used a slightly used rag to wipe the dirt and blood from his face. Their eyes met with Alfred's glittering blue orbs gazing into her shimmering green ones. After she finished cleaning him she held up the ladle filled with a clear liquid.

"It is water, I do not wish to harm you. That job is left to my husband," she explained as she held the ladle closer to Alfred's mouth. Alfred knew she wasn't a threat just by seeing the honesty in her eyes, so he gratefully took the water he was given. It was hotter than hell's flames, but hot water was better than no water. She gave him a few gulps before wiping the ladle and putting it back into the bucket. She stood up and wiped the dirt from the soft fabric. She was about to leave but stopped when he heard Alfred speak.

"Thank you, it's nice to know there is humanity in such a cold way of life. You are a gift to your people," Alfred stated with a small smile. She looked at his face and was about to speak when her husband came into the room. She bowed to him and quickly dismissed herself, leaving the group to their dirty business.

WITH THE NATIONS

They all were grouped into small squads, each nation having a job.

Squad 1- Germany, Sweden, Russia, Canada, and Belarus
-infiltrate the base and retrieve America

Squad 2- Italy, Romano, Spain, Prussia, and Denmark
-keep a lookout on all parameters

Squad 3- Japan, China, Finland, Estonia (via the internet)
-tech support

Squad 4- Iceland, Ukraine, and France
-medical team

Squad 5- Norway and England
-getaway drivers

Now that they were in their places, "Operation Saving Freedom" was now on. Italy and Romano held snipers and locked their eyes on the front guards. Prussia and Spain were ready to snag the bodies as Spain kept a visual from higher ground. Italy and Romano attached their silencers and shot the two guards right between their eyes. Prussia and Denmark quickly snatched their bodies and dragged them off to an unknown location. Spain held up his new watch, an untraceable communication line.

"Squad One, you are in the clear. Good luck mis amigos," Spain still kept watch and noticed the others get in their spots to do the same. Armed with different weapons, the group approached the door. Germany swiftly kicked it down with a mighty force, making the enemy soldiers scurry for their weapons. The stoic blonde used his machine gun to clear a few dozen of them while Sweden did the same.

"Ve vill cover jou! Hurry!" Germany yelled as he and Sweden began added another belt of ammo to their guns. Canada, Belarus, and Russia rushed forward. Belarus had a multitude of knives hidden on her person. Canada wielded a sharpened hockey stick already covered in blood. Lastly was Russia, who brandished none other than his magic metal pipe of pain. The trio went room to room, finding some morbid sights. They eventually busted into a room filled with women in black burkas. Not bothering to care, Belarus grabbed the closest one to her and held a knife to her throat. It was a young girl with green eyes.

"All you she-devils listen up! I am looking for my baby brother! Blonde hair, blue eyes, and a soft smile! Now I'm giving you all to the count of three or this woman dies! One...Two..."

"I know where he is! Please stop! I will take you to him!" it was the same woman as before. Canada roughly grabbed her sleeve and pulled her into the hallway. Belarus still held the other girl in a headlock with her hunting knife by her jugular vein.

"I will kill her if you are messing with us, so no playing games," Belarus threatened. The woman nodded rapidly and quickly walked down the hallway, the group not far behind her. The woman looked to her small child in Belarus' arms, giving her caring eyes. Canada and Russia noticed the warming gesture. The two looked at each other with curious faces. Suddenly, the woman stopped in front of a wooden door.

"He is in here, now please let my innocent daughter go," she begged. Belarus was about to when Russia held his hand up.

"Not until we know for sure," Ivan commanded as Matthew shattered the door to splinters with his hockey stick. When the dust cleared, they saw Alfred tied to the chair with the car battery attached to it. Russia ran forward and quickly began to unbind America, Belarus releasing the crying girl and Canada catching Alfred. Alfred stirred when he felt movement and looked up with tired eyes.

"M-Mattie?" Alfred's voice was so weak it broke their hearts. Canada gently hoisted his brother into his arms.

"Shh, Alfie. It's going to be ok," Matthew comforted as he stood up. Alfred's head turned to the woman and her child. He knew it was the same woman just by her emerald eyes.

"Mattie, take her and the child with us. They are good people who do not deserve this life," Alfred commanded with all the strength he could muster. Russia was about to speak in protest, but Alfred continued, "every other woman who would come to see me spat insults and dumped water on me. But she didn't. She wiped my face clean and gave me water to drink. She is a compassionate, caring person. Don't leave her here so they can abuse her kindness any further," Alfred smiled softly and finally succumbed to sleep. Russia looked at the other two, who nodded. Ivan swiftly strode up to the two girls and picked them up so they each sat in one of his muscular arms. The group began their retreat and Belarus held up a watch similar to Spain's.

"This is Ribbon One with Squad One, we have the target and are escaping now. Squad Five, receive your drop spot from Squad Three, over," Belarus waited, then.

"Copy, Ribbon One. Katana One sending rocation to Squad Five. Scone One do you copy, over," Japan came over the watch.

"Copy Katana One, Squad Five in on its way, over," England finished. The group began to dash to the exit, finding themselves in front of a group of black burkas and weapons. Canada growled and held his brother closer as Belarus swung her knives swiftly. With their path now cleared, they continued to run. They met up with Germany, Italy, Romano, Spain, Prussia, Denmark, and Sweden by the door.

"Wh' 's Russ'a carry'ng ch'ldren?" Sweden asked, pointing to the mother and little girl.

"Vhat does it matter! Ve have Alfred so let's go!" Prussia yelled as the sound of rioting could be heard coming near them. Romano looked at his watch and saw a bleeping dot.

"Come this way, bastards!" Romano led the group to the location, which happened to be a pigpen. Just as they arrived they heard two helicopters coming towards them. One ladder dropped from each. Squad One went onto England's and Squad Two climbed onto Norway's. Russia did have a slight problem but managed to hang onto the foreign girls.

"This is Scone One, do you copy, over?"

"This is Panda One, we hear you, over,"

"We are on our way to base camp. Rose One, prepare a bed. Puffin One, get bandages. Crybaby One, retrieve ointment as well as water. Do you copy, over?"

"This is Puffin One, we copy, over," Iceland replied.

"This is Troll One, we will also need to spare cots and spare food, over,"

"Copy that, Puffin One out," the rest of the ride was silent until they arrived at basecamp. France was the first at the scene and carefully put Alfred on a gurney. He was taken into the medic tent to have his rope burns healed and wounds covered. Japan and China came to the group with two bowls of stew. Russia sat the girls on their cots and they began to eat. Ukraine, Iceland, and France came out of the tent.

"How is he, eh?" Canada asked nervously.

"Well, 'e iz currently resting. 'e should be back to our normal, 'appy Alfred in no time," France explained.

"He had some severe electrocution burns on his back. They might take a little more time to heal," Iceland finished as he sat next to Norway. Hours passed and the groups were laying down in their cots. The woman was star gazing outside of the tent, not realizing Alfred was right behind her.

"They're beautiful right?" Alfred asked softly. He was shirtless, showing her his godly eight-pack abs, strong arms, and sculpted pecs. He sat next to her and looked at the stars with her.

"There have been so many nights where I counted them all," she whispered. Alfred chuckled and nodded.

"I've done it too. It's how I fell asleep as a kid. When my mom died, I was on my own for a while before my big brothers took care of me. She always told me that when she died that she would turn into a star. So every night I would count them, trying to find her," Alfred then pointed to a constellation, "see that one? That is called Ursa Major and a few stars over is Ursa Minor. They are called circumpolar constellations, which means you can see them every night in the Northern Hemisphere,"

"Wow, they're amazing. How do you know so much about the stars?"

"I love space and studied it for a while. Ivan, the big guy with ashy blonde hair and purple eyes, he and I love space and often bond over it. Why do you like them?"

"I don't know, they're just so pretty. When I look up at them, all I can see is twinkling lights that are free to fly wherever they wish. They're free to go wherever they please whenever they please. They do not need to serve an ungrateful husband, obey the orders of an insane man, nor do they have to listen to the harsh words that are slung from the tongues of other horrible people. Stars are the one thing I yearn to be, free," the woman finished. Alfred noticed she was still garbed in her burka.

"You can take off the burka, you know. I wish to see your eyes,"

"You can see those ugly things?"

"Ugly? Your green eyes are beautiful. I kinda wish you wore a niqab or a hijab so I could see them better. They look like rare emeralds that were hidden treasures from Earth," Alfred complimented. The woman chuckled.

"You have quite a silver tongue, Mr. Alfred," Alfred's jaw dropped and she chuckled more, "I overheard your friends say your name,"

"Well then, may I ask your name? I mean, it's only fair since you know mine," she looked at him with a smile as she unwrapped the burka from her face. Brown, curly hair trickled down her back and she put the wrappings to her side.

"My name is Nadira. But you and your friends may call me Nadia. When my wealthy father hired tutors for me, I decided I wished for the 'r' in my name to be removed. When I told him such information, he got angry and said I should be grateful to have been given a name with a noble meaning,"

"Nadira, it has an Arabic origin and means rare or precious. Nadia is one of Russian descent and means hope. I think Nadia fits you a lot better," Alfred smiled at her and she smiled back.

"Your kindness is much appreciated, thank you," Nadia looked to the twinkling stars with Alfred.

"Your daughter and you can start over in the US. I'll help you any way I possibly can. I will take your kindness and pay it back to you," Alfred stretched and got up, "the night is getting colder, we should head to bed. Care to relax?" Alfred held out his hand. Nadia laughed as Alfred helped her up.

The next morning Alfred was greeted with hugs and kisses from the nations. The young blonde giggled his way through and the large group eventually made their way back to America. They all helped America home and Alfred offered to pay for the apartment next to his until Nadia got a stable job. He would often babysit Nadia's daughter, Sari, while she was job hunting. He also sent Sari to school once she was old enough. Nadia was grateful for Alfred helping her rebuild her life.

Because of Alfred's selfless heart she became free and a human ally to all of the nations.
