Chapter two
Bianca's POV
I was restless, I hated that we had to wait and see what was going on. I was a wolf, pouncing into action was in my nature, but for now I had to be less impulsive, less reactive and more patient.
I say we just kill them all. Flair my wolf whispered to me.
I sighed.
I wish Flair, but we can't its reckless to go into this blind.
Flair growled.
I don't have a good feeling about this at all Bianca, at all, at all, at all.
Me too girl, me too.
"I'm going to start the patrol." Raysa notified me, her brown eyes filled with determination.
"Be careful."
She laughed.
"The only creature that should be worried about care are those damn vampires, Fenris and I, we are a force to be reckoned with."
"Vampires?" Connor's voice inquired in the distance, with the a childlike curiosity to it. He was always so curious about everything.
"Yes." I replied and they're dangerous.
He came down the stairs to meet me.
"Aren't you guys dangerous too? No offence."
"Not like them. We hunt to survive, they kill for sport, torture even."
He borrowed his eyebrows.
"How are you so sure?"
I was getting frustrated.
"Why else would there be countless dead carcases about the place, cows and humans... we don't kill humans, we coexist with them."
"Maybe it was a misunderstanding?"
I laughed.
"Babe, your innocence is sweet and at times admirable, but right now it's dangerous. Best believe, vampires are not our friends, they're our natural enemy."
"Your natural enemy, I'm not one of you yet."
I know he didn't mean to hurt me but his words stung, I couldn't understand why the love of my life was so against being one of us.
"Regardless, you need to be home by 6pm everyday until this is over."
"6pm? But I play dungeons and dragons with the boys from 6-10."
"Your stupid game can wait. This is more important right now."
Connor's face contorted.
"I'm going home, I don't want to be here anymore."
"Connor..." I began but he cut me off, he was crying.
"I've been nothing but supportive lately yet you fail to understand me, fail to take the time to. I'm human Bianca... and all this is so fucking scary... In the last month I've been beaten up, kidnaped, drugged, raped and exposed to all manner of horror and I've still stood by your side. All I ask is that I spend time with my friends... I'm going home today. I want my mother."
His words stung me right down to my core, he shouldn't need anyone or anything but me. I should be enough.
"Connor!"
Raysa put her hand on my shoulder.
"Give him some space B, he's been through a lot and maybe this is just too much for him to process. He'll come back to you, he always has and always will."
I sighed.
"Okay."
Connor's POV
Vampires, here, in Lakewood? Was that possible? I mean, I didn't think the existence of werewolves was possible, but vampires too? What else is real? What else is out there?
I packed my things and called an Uber. I hated leaving Bianca, but the truth is I needed space. I was so godamned overwhelmed and even though people were listening to me, I felt like no one heard me. I had no respect here, only Bianca did.I got my things and walked downstairs to await my Uber. Bianca looked at me, she looked sad. I loved her and I hated seeing her sad. The look in her eyes, the utter pity almost made me stay, but I had to go. This was all becoming bait too much.
"I love you." I told her as I excited the door.
I saw her eyes tear up, she didn't respond. My stomach hurled, I hated that.
My Uber arrived. I put my things in the car and entered into the backseat. It had a unique smell, it was like stale human blood but with sweet undertones to it.
"Connor Stone?" The driver, a female asked with the most angelic voice.
"Yes." I replied.
"A pleasure to meet you."
I looked at her, she was out of this world gorgeous. Her skin although pale had a smooth glistening glow to it, her eyes were blue and twinkling, her lips were pink and small but plump with a beauty mole resting right above it. Her hair was red and curly and long, so vibrant my eyes couldn't look way. I felt like I was locked in a trance, I was enchanted.
"Who are you?" the question slipped from my mouth.
The girl smirked.
"I'm your dream girl Connor, your one true love..."
I felt compelled to believe her, but I remembered Bianca. She was my one true love, she was my everything.
"Stop the car." I demanded, suddenly feeling overwhelmed and anxious and desperate to escape.
"The girl laughed.
"You humans always amaze me. Don't worry Connor dearest, we're on your street. I'll drop you off safe and sound. After all, I can't hurt you. You're too precious, far to sweet, far too important to the grand plan."
The grand plan?
"You're crazy." I told her as she pulled into my driveway.
She snickered.
"Soon, you'll realise that I am perfectly sane. Have a good night Connor and if you know what's best for you, listen to your girlfriend and stay inside after sunset."
She blew me a kiss. It sent shivers down my spine down to my soul. I felt as though I'd climaxed. Even Bianca couldn't make me feel this way. Whoever or whatever she was, I was going to stay far away from her.
