Pushing the door open I was greeted by the familiar smell of sweat and perfume.

Walking in all the girls looked at me. One of them stood up.

"SHES HERE!!!" the girl screamed.

Running up to me she gave me a hug. I think I was going to like this team already.

"You can come sit by me! My names Madison but you can call me Mads or Maddie or whatever! Also if you hear coach calling someone wheels that's also me cause i'm speedy!" she said.

"Shut up Maddie! She's probably scared of you!" another girl yelled.

"Darby leave me alone!" she smirked.

All the girls started laughing and getting ready.

Once I had all my gear on I filled up my water bottle. Grabbing my sticks I walked out of the room, being one of the first on the ice I skated over to my new coach.

"Hello Ryan! We're so excited to have you on our team this season!"

"I'm excited to be here!"

I assumed that the lady I talked to at the front was another coach or maybe a manager.

"So Ryan, what position do you usually play?"

"I'm usually a right wing forward" I smiled.

"okay perfect! We actually need another one of those!"

"really! sweet!" I helped her with the net.

"Ryannnn!" I heard Maddie.

"yes?" I yelled back and turned around.

Looking at Maddie skate over to me she sprayed me with a ton of snow when she stopped. Glancing up into the stands I could see Connor laughing at me.

"Is that guy up there your boyfriend?" she asked.

"uh yeah, he's only here this one time! My brother couldn't drive me today" I smiled awkwardly.

"nice! What's his name?"

I was about to tell her but coach blew the whistle. We all skated over to her and went on one knee in a semi circle.

"okay girls! We have a new player in case you didn't notice. Her name is Ryan Draisaitl make her feel welcome please"

I heard everyone gasp when she mentioned my last name. Maddie leaned over to me and whispered into my ear.

"Your brother is on the Oilers! Can I meet Connor Mcdavid?" she laughed.

Somehow I knew she was joking. So I just quietly laughed with her.

Coach made us do a regular butterfly for warmup. Skating around the outsides of the rink then all meeting up in the middle and doing some stretches between the blue lines.

Practice went by fairly smooth. I was happy that no one noticed Connor up in the stands. Walking into the dressing room everyone was talking about my brother playing for the Oilers.

"Obviously this is super exciting! BUT! We're not going to suck up to Ryan just to meet the Oilers, right?" Darby said. 

"Yes Captain!" Maddie said while the rest of the team followed suit and said yes.

I was the first one undressed not wanting to make Connor wait for me. Saying goodbye to my new teammates I walked down the hallway until I met up with Connor. Hearing Maddie yelling after me down the hallway I turned and waited until she caught up.

"So this is your boyfriend eh?" she asked.

I looked at Connor and pleaded with my eyes for him to go along with it.

"Uh yeah! that's me! My names Connor" he stuck his hand out for her to shake.

"Your voice it sounds familiar." she looked deep in thought.

"WAIT!" she yelled.

"your not dating each other, your Connor Mcdavid and your trying to keep a low profile" Maddie whispered.

"wow..." me and Connor's jaws hung open.

"don't do that hun, your gonna catch flies" she said tapping me on the chin.

"It's nice to meet you Connor!" she smiled.

"yeah nice to meet you as well..."

"oh Madison!"

"nice to meet you Madison" Connor said.

"Well I have to get home! I'll see you at the game on Friday night!" she said while walking away.

"Bye Maddie" I waved.

Picking up my bag and sticks I followed Connor to the car again. He unlocked it and I put my bag in the back.

"You looked like you worked hard out there, do you wanna get ice cream or something?" he asked.

"sure! I don't care from where, where ever has the best ice cream!" I smiled.

"okay! Dairy Queen it is!"
(don't fight me on this okay😂)

Me and Connor talked almost all the way home and once we stopped at Dairy Queen he just went through the drive thru. We had to sit for a while though so I could look at the menu.

"I'll have a mini cookie dough blizzard please!" I said to Connor.

"alright!"

Once we got our ice cream we started on the journey back home. I pulled out my phone once to text Mitch wishing him good luck before his first game of the season. I did a little research on him last night and apparently he used to play for the London Knights and somehow got traded to Edmonton.

I was happy he did because now I had him and Lexi to hangout with at school. Texting Lexi I asked if she wanted to come over and work on our english homework together.

Putting my phone away just as we pulled up to the apartment building Connor parked and I got out and grabbed my things.

Connor followed me inside. Once we got to our apartment I knocked on the door and Ryan opened it.

"Little Ry! Your home" he said.

"yeah!" I smiled.

"Connor! Tell me one of the blizzards are for me" Ryan said.

"nope sorry bud"

Ryan looked defeated and went to go sulk on the couch. I dropped my bag in the hallway going to my room. Walking back out I sat on the couch and looked at the TV.

"What are we watching?" I asked.

"We're watching your little boyfriend play" Leon said. 

"shut up! He's just a friend"

"whatever you say Ry" he laughed.

The game came back on after commercial break. Looking around on the ice I spotted Mitch wearing number 93. I smiled it was a little weird seeing Mitch on TV but I guess it would be weird when my brother went to away games I would see him on TV.

The puck had ended up in their defensive zone. Mitch was up top waiting for his chance to get the puck and streak down the ice. His chance came when one of the guys on the other team lost the puck. There it sat alone in the middle Mitch got on his horse and booked it towards that loose puck. Picking it up his sights were set on the goal.

The two defenders were on his tail that didn't stop him. He pulled back faked and shot it watching as it hit the netting his team was now up 3-2 late in the third.

Once that final buzzer rang out I got up said goodnight to the boys and went to get ready for bed. Checking my phone I had a text from Mitch.

Putting my phone away I went to sleep for the night.
