•Epilogue•

It had been five years since Mitch started playing for the Maple Leafs, I had gotten a job with the Leafs working as their promotion scheduler. So aside from spending time with Mitch durning the days I also got to spend time with him at the rink.

Waking up in the morning I looked beside me and saw Mitch had already gotten up. Sniffing a little I smelt pancakes and instantly knew it wasn't Mitch, no offence to him but his cooking skills are horrendous.

Getting out of bed I walked out of me and Mitch's room and down the stairs and into the kitchen. I had to do a double take because Connor was standing in front of the stove.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"good morning sleeping beauty!" Connor laughed.

Walking over to him I gave him a hug, I looked in the living room and saw Mitch, Nuge, Lexi, Lauren, Leon, Will, Auston, and my parents.

What the hell was going on. Going into the living room I looked at all of them.

"i'm sorry but did someone die?" I asked.

"no, why?" Leon said.

"then what are you all doing here?"

"we're not allowed to come visit anymore?" Lexi asked.

"well you are but all of you at the same time?"

"yeah we thought it would be more fun that way!" Lauren laughed.

I just shook my head and gave everyone a hug. Connor came in a few minutes later and told us breakfast was ready. Everyone got up and walked over to the kitchen table.

"Connor this looks great thank-you so much!" I said.

"no problem!" he smiled sitting with everyone.

We all ate breakfast and just talked about the crazy things that had happened to us over the last few years. I felt like everything was a little different, that long dark haired girl who walked out of Leon's room the day he should have taken us to the airport was now his girlfriend. Her name was Emma she was okayish. Nuge and Lexi had gotten engaged last year and were getting married this summer. Connor and Lauren had gotten married a few years ago already. And Auston and Will both had girlfriends now but they weren't ever really around so I didn't know them that well.

"We have to head to the rink in a few hours!" Mitch said.

"and then game time!" I smiled.

Everyone had helped clear the table up and then they went back to their rooms to lie down. Apparently breakfast takes a lot of energy.

"Ryan, come with me! I have something for you" Mitch said.

"alright!" following him upstairs he led me to our room.

"So I thought tonight after the game we could go out and celebrate!" he said.

"okay! i'd be down for that, what exactly are we celebrating?" I asked.

"mmmh just us!"

"alright!" I smiled.

Mitch grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to him. Closing the gap between us I pressed my lips to his, I could feel his fingers running through my hair sending shivers down my spine. Mitch broke the kiss and looked at me.

"So this is what I wanted to give you! It's for tonight" he smiled.

Pulling out a red dress he put it on the bed and smiled while pulling out a pair of heels.

"Mitch! This dress is stunning" I smiled.

"you like it?"

"I love it! Thank-you so much!" checking the sizes of the shoes and dress I looked at him.

"how did you know my sizes?" I asked.

"I had a little help from Lauren and Lexi" he smiled.

"awe!" I laughed.

"Well I have to head to the rink now but i'll see you tonight!"

"okay, have fun! Good luck i'll see you at the game" I kissed him.

"bye babe, I love you"

"I love you to!"

"oh and before I forget I got you a few tickets for the game tonight and you can bring whoever you want! They are on the fridge" he smiled.

"alright thanks!"

Watching him walk out of the room I waited a few minutes just admiring the dress and then left the room to find Lexi and Lauren.

Finding them in the living room with Connor and Ryan I went and grabbed them and dragged them to my room.

"What's going on!" they asked.

"Look at this!" I said picking up the dress.

I swear to god both of their jaws dropped to the floor.

"Your going to look stunning in that! Your going to wear it tonight correct?"

"Well i'm going to wear something different for the game and then change before we head out!" I smiled.

"Good idea!" Lauren said.

"yeah! also I saw all the tickets on the fridge who are you taking?" Lexi asked.

"well everyone if I have that many tickets!" I laughed.

"okay sweet!" Lexi said.

Eventually we went downstairs to make something for lunch and then we went to get ready for the game. Doors opened at 6 and it was already 3. Knowing Lexi, Lauren, and me we would all take the longest to get ready.

Hopping in the shower I washed my hair and then got out. Quickly putting on my house coat and wrapping my hair in my towel, I went to the kitchen to see how many tickets I had. Counting seven tickets I smiled I had exactly enough for everyone. Running back upstairs I went into the bathroom and started blow drying my hair, halfway through blow drying I turned on my hair straightener and finished drying.

Walking back into the bedroom I got changed into jeans and the hoodie Mitch gave me.

Going back into the bathroom I straightened my hair and put on some makeup. Leaving the room I went to knock on Lexi and Nuge's door to see if they were ready.

"Hey Ryan! You like nice"

"Thanks Lex! Are you guys ready? We should leave soon traffic is usually insane around the rink"

"yeah! We just have to finish with a few things well meet you downstairs."

"okay!" smiling I walked down the hall to the room Lauren and Connor were in.

Knocking lightly on the door I heard Lauren yell to come in.

"Hey!"

"Hey Ryan!" Connor said.

"Hey Con! are you guys almost ready?" I asked.

"yup! We're actually ready now" Lauren said poking her head out of the bathroom.

"okay! I'll meet you guys downstairs then"

Running back to my room I grabbed the bag with my dress and heels in it. Walking down the stairs I saw my parents and Leon waiting by the front door.

"Hey guys!" I smiled while putting my runners on.

"Hello Ryan! You look nice, please tell me you brought an extra pair of clothes for dinner?" my mom asked.

I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"yeah mom I did"

"thanks sweetie!" she smiled.

"Im going to get the car ready not everyone is going to fit so we have to take two cars" I said.

Walking into the garage I got into Mitch's black range rover and backed it out. Handing Leon the keys to my jeep patriot I went inside to gather Lexi, Lauren, Nuge, and Connor.

Once everyone was in a vehicle we headed towards the arena. As usual the roads were so busy near the arena, lucky for me I had Mitch's parking pass in his car and mine was left in my car with Leon.

Checking my mirrors to make sure Leon was still following me I turned to go into the back parking lot for the players and staff. Parking I waited because Leon parked right beside me. We all got out of the car and I gave everyone their tickets. Walking towards the arena we went around to the front to get in like everyone else. Once we finally made it inside we found our seats and waited for the game to start. Of course Connor, Leon, and Nuge had to check the place out. Lauren, Lexi, and me stayed behind because we didn't want to be there when the boys got mobbed.

"Ryan! are you excited for dinner!" Lexi asked.

"yeah i'm a little confused though! Am I missing a anniversary or something?" I asked.

They both shook their heads.

"Mitch told me that he just wants to go out with everyone because he wants to celebrate you!" Lauren said.

"well that's random but i'll take it!" I laughed.

Soon after the boys had gotten back from exploring the game was starting they were singing the Canadian anthem since the leafs were playing the sens.

At the end of the third period Mitch's team had pulled out a 4-3 win. My parents had left already with Leon to go wait at the restaurant and the rest of us had stayed here. While everyone was waiting for Mitch, Auston, and Will I ran to get changed. Coming back out from the bathroom I walked over to Lexi, Lauren, Connor, and Nuge.

"What the hell. You look like a goddess!" Lexi freaked.

"yeah you look effortlessly beautiful Ryan!" Lauren smiled.

A few minutes later Mitch walked out with Will and Auston. Coming over to me Mitch made me do a twirl.

"You look stunning! I'm glad your my date!" he smiled.

"Thanks babes! You look great to! and you smell really nice" I said hugging him.

"Well I showered I didn't think that you'd want me to be gross and smelly during dinner!"

"that's true! also we should probably get going my parents and Leon already left"

"alright! My parents are going to meet us there if that's okay!"

"yeah for sure!" I smiled.

He grabbed my hand and we walked out of the arena with the others following.

"Um how are we all going to fit?" Connor asked.

"easy. You, Nuge, and Auston sit in the trunk!" Mitch said.

He got into the drivers side and popped the trunk.

"excuse me. Why does Will get seat privileges and I have to sit in the trunk?" Auston said.

"because he passed to me more tonight than you did" Mitch laughed.

"whatever" Auston grumbled while climbing into the trunk.

Lauren and Lexi were stuck in the back seat with Will in between them and I was in the passengers seat.

"so what restaurant are we going to?" Nuge asked.

"please don't say olive garden" I heard Will whisper.

"GOING TO ALL OF GARDEN!" Auston screamed.

"god damn it. We're not going to Olive Garden you morons! We're going to the keg!" Mitch laughed.

Once we got to the keg we went inside and saw Mitch and my parents sitting with Leon at a table. We all walked over and sat down, just talking until the waiter came to take our drink orders. Lexi said she'd be DD but Mitch insisted she should have a few drinks tonight so he was DD.

The waiter came back with our drinks and then we ordered our food. Somehow our section of the restaurant was closed off which was nice it wasn't as loud. Once we got our food I watched Lexi and Mitch look at each other from across the table. All of a sudden Lexi stood up and announced she was going to the bathroom.

"Ryan I need you to come with me. It's a red alert" she said.

Rolling my eyes at her stupid name I followed her to the bathroom.

Mitch's P.O.V

Watching Lexi and Ryan walk away I looked at Leon and he tossed me the ring box. My hands were starting to sweat a little bit, I was nervous. This was a big moment and it took a while to put it all together.

After what felt like a life time I watched Lexi and Ryan walk towards us. Ryan tried to sit back down in her seat but Lexi took her and positioned her in front of where I was standing. It was now or never. Dropping on one knee this was the moment.

"Ryan Draisaitl, I don't want to make this to long and sappy because i'll save that for later! But I couldn't picture my life without you and i'm glad we ended up in the same class five years ago. I'm not really sure the type of person i'd be without you, I love the person I am with you. So, will you do me the honour of spending the rest of your life with me?" I asked.

Watching her hands fly up towards her mouth just like the day I asked her to be my girlfriend. She shook her head yes and hugged me so tight. This was the greatest day of my life. Once we pulled apart I took the ring out of the box and put it on her finger. We both sat back down and everyone was freaking out. Ryan and me couldn't stop smiling and honestly I didn't ever want to again.

Ryan's P.O.V

I had no words for what just happened. What the hell just happened.

I was going to spend the rest of my life with the love of my life and I couldn't have been happier. Taking out my phone quickly I snapped a photo of me and Mitch's hands.
