Chapter three
Sorry for the late update.
For some reason my Watt pad was not opening my book.
I hope that won't be happening again in the near future.
Enjoy this chapter.

It took like forever to get out of that place. It was like a maze of similar trees and grass. If I was in my human form I would be pulling my hair out of frustration.
When I was close to my pack's bounders I could see my warriors. They had been on strict patrol since their alpha went missing. It gave me comfort that at least Xander was still on their minds.
I shifted back and wore my clothes then rushed to the pack house.
Outside our house were three cars. Two of which were black Mercedes and the other was a white Harrier ( I don't know if those are the latest but I love Harriers).
They were definitely expensive and fancy. On their side there was a star. I would know that star from anywhere. That star brought both good and bad memories. Beginning and end of my curse. Plus it wasn't just any star. We all feared that star.
A silver star.
'Oh shoot' I face palmed myself for forgetting this day. It was the annual visit for Xander's family. They started that stuff after we got together with Xander. They would come and visit us more frequently, but ever since he went missing they only came once. His mother said that it was only a kind gesture to show they cared. If they even cared about anyone especially her.
I hated how they only came to ask about about his whereabouts and say how incompetent my troops were. Never even once had they contributed to looking. They said that it was my fault that Xander had gone missing.
I mean I also blame myself for that, does she always have to rub it in my face.
At least now you know how the strongest pack is symbolised. The Knights pack. Even though silver affects wolves they live on land that has much silver. They usually manipulate the silver and find a way to make weapons. They trained the members into mindless killing machines.
Whenever they see a rogue they wouldn't even think twice to strike. Enough about them let me stop stalling and go face my demons.
I walked into the house and to my surprise I was tacked by some small girl. No doubt that was Xander's sister, Anna. She was the sweetest among them all. Plus that girl was intelligent.
"My word is tyrant," she said amidst her laughter.
"Mine is memorial," I answered her.
She got me to reading my dictionary from the beginning to the end. Saying that it would be fun to see who would complete first. At least it gave her motivation to improve her language grades.
"No fair, I told that word last time. Plus you are a slow reader. How did you reach that far?" She asked with an adorable pouting face.
"Maybe I decided to up my game. I can't just let you will that easily. Plus repeating words is not bad."
"Okay but by next week I will have found a new word," she said with such a determined tone.
Next week! What does she mean by that? Are they staying for that long?
As if she noticed my anxiety she said, " don't worry mom said that we will be staying to lend a helping hand."
Ha, now. Better late than never.
"Where are your parents?"
"In the garden. I left them talking with your parents. They said you went for a run so I decided to wait for you. I hope the surprise was worth it."
"You might have broken my back but the surprise was worth it."
"I can never hurt you. Actually I could never hurt a fly."
"Well you do feel a bit heavy....."
I didn't get to finish because she made herself comfortable by sitting on my stomach. Letting all her weight on me.
"Ooh okay I was just kidding you are an angel. You could never harm even an ant."
"See you were just teasing me. I have to go and tend to my royal duties I don't want to keep my subjects waiting ," she said with a bit of amusing arrogance in her tone. I always wondered how her castle looks like, all glitter and pink definitely.
I headed to the garden after Anna left.
"I heard you will be staying for a while to help in the search, how thoughtful of you."
I didn't even bother greeting them because Xander's mother would just look at me as if I was some alien from Lilo and Stitch.
"Yes dear, seeing that you are incapable of finding your own mate. I think you could need more hands and brains of course," Xander's mom, Alex said as a matter of fact.
Alexandria Knight was a lot of things but compassionate wasn't one of them. She was straight to the point, without thinking about the consequences of her actions. Reminds me that Xander left home cause of her. She was ruthless.
"Darling, no need to be harsh on her. She is also suffering from losing her mate," her husband, Patrick defended me.
"It's alright father, she doesn't understand that pain."
"You know, I didn't get a hug from my favourite daughter in law."
I went to him and let him embrace me.
"I'm your only daughter in law if you forgot," I told him.
He just chuckled and held me tighter.
"I know."
Of course Alex would not let me have a moment so she cleared her throat, louder than necessary.
"I think we can leave the love for now and start laying down strategies on how to find my son."
"You just had to spoil my moment," I whispered more to myself. I think she heard it and honestly I didn't care. Werewolf ears were a pain at times.
"Well you have been here for a while what have you been discussing? Don't tell me you have been waiting for my arrival."
"Please you flatter yourself too much, we could survive a life time without you."
Ouch! that hurt. What did I ever do to her? I just got a mate who happened to be her son. Maybe she wanted the other girl. Definitely the other girl. She always tried to act nice to me for Xander.
"Alex I think you need to be more considerate about my daughter's feelings," my mother said with bitterness in her words, " you think you lost a son, she lost half her soul. And I'm so tired of having to hear your silly arguments. If you came to help then do that not start another war. We are still trying to recover from the last one."
She said openly without fearing that her outburst might hurt anyone. She just spoke her mind and I was grateful for that.
Alex looked taken aback by her speech. My mother was mostly quiet and only talked when she saw that one party was harsh.
"I don't think you know the true meaning of family. People who are willing to leave the past and help in times of trouble. To lend a shoulder to lean on and to cry on. Not shifting blame as if you are the only one who feels that pain. We all do, but despite that we let that bitterness go and are willing to help."
She was almost in tears after she said that I felt so bad for been closed off for that long time.
I walked towards my mom before she became a weeping mess.
"It's okay now, she heard you," I hugged her as if my life depended on it and surely at that moment it did.
At least now I know that a had people to stand by me all though the way.
Family.

How that chapter?
I was trying to make the words a bit more encouraging and tough. I hope you got the idea.
The relationship between those two is a bit rocky so I'll try bringing out the aggressive nature of both, but I think it has to end well.
Don't all fairy tales have a happy ending?
