"Are you fucking serious right now?" I shout heading towards Hades. "Having your pack surround and possibly attack us while you are the reason I'm here. What is wrong with you?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about. I'll have you know that all my members are accounted for, so don't accuse me. Just so you know some rogue don't live in my territory."

I'm sure everyone knew of the situation, cause I could see they were in high alert. Alphas and betas were talking most likely making a strategy to run or protect.

"Rogues can never be trusted, I wish I knew you were planning this. I should have never come here with you."

"Tell all the pack warriors and members to be vigilant. The ball was a ploy, we are surrounded here. Make sure that the border to Hade's pack  has more people."  I mind linked Zoey.

"Okay right on it, please stay safe. Take care."

"I will."

"Believe it or not, I have nothing to do with this. I'll have them take rounds and see whose not there," Hades turned from definitely making a call.

"Everyone silence. I'm sure you've all heard of the situation at hand. Please remain calm, I have warriors around my territory. It's bound by magic and will hold for a while. Kindly follow all protocols."

"Your granddaughter did this. If she hadn't come with Hades all would be well." Some person shouted," she's the traitor to her own people."

"Shut the fuck up, I don't have to explain myself to you," I shouted at her. I'm done dealing with these people.

"Look at that, you don't even take responsibility for your actions. You're not fit to be alpha." I can tell she's from River wave. This pack just loved to rile me up.

I looked at her and wished to break her bones. As if by some force, she started screaming and fell down. I heard a bone break, as if my wish was been granted.

"Stop," someone whispered next to my ear. Next thing I know, I'm been dragged away.

"What was that?" I hadn't even noticed that Hades was the one who dragged me. "You can do magic?"

"I can't talk to you right now," I went to leave but he grabbed my arm. "Let me go."

"No, you have to believe me," I was getting tired to people not listening to me.

He let go of my hand when I wished it burned. "The fuck, what is wrong with you?" He winced them took of his gloves. His hands started healing and the burnt marks went away.

"I told you to let go."

"Fuck, can you just listen to me. I'm not the only one who has rogues. For a while now, I've been hearing that Demitris has been recruiting lone wolves and rogues. That's all I know." He kept inspecting his hands.

"I wasn't really trying to hurt, I just hate how everyone at this ball is getting on my nerves."

"So you do magic?"

"Somehow, I just wish things and they happen. I didn't know but after Xander went missing, weird things started happening to me."

"Ooh, Xander." I looked at him and noticed the uncomfortable expression on his face. I shouldn't be talking about my mate to Hades.

"Let's go back, don't want them thinking we are conspiring something."

Together with Hades we went to leave grandpa's  office, when we heard screaming from the other room and I was ready to exit.

"Are you stupid, do you want to die that fast?" Hades stopped me, holding me in an arm's iron grip. In that moment I felt a spark, a beautiful sensation went through my body. He realised what happend and withdrew his hand as if I was fire.

Why wasn't he surprised?

"How long have you known?" I asked him. He definitely knew, he wasn't even phased.

"I don't know what you're talking about. We need a plan to get our packs out of there."

"No, you're not avoiding this subject," I took his hand again and held it, oh my goddess.

"No. This can't be real. I already have a mate," I exclaimed moving away from Hades. I couldn't believe it, I love Xander not some killer. 

That explains the feelings, the pain I feel when I look at him. When I hurt him, I felt bad. Whenever we argue or I say something bad to him, I feel ruined. The urge to stay close to him.

Oh no.

"Tough, now that you know the effects will be felt by both of us. I never wanted to tell you cause I had already predicted the outcome. I'm sorry your paired with a monster like me but I can't help it. You can reject me if you want. I'm not going to chase away the first miracle I've had in a long while."

"A miracle," I scoff, " I'm mated to you, a  monster and killer. I already have a mate, one that I'm looking for. I don't want you ever." That hurt my wolf, she let out a whimper upon seeing that Hades was hurt. Fuck, not again.

"Let's just get out of here, I'm sure you have better things to do than stay locked up with a monster like me."

"Fuck, I'm sorry okay, it's just that it's a shock to me. I never wanted another mate and now I have to choose."

"You think I wanted this huh," he growled at me, "you think I want to be tied to someone when I lead an army of lunatics. They could kill you or exploit you as my weakness. Stacey I have enemies around, you think I have a choice in this. To endanger someone I might love, no I never wanted this. I never wanted this life but guess what, we can't always have what we want. And some of us have to do dirty work inorder  to survive."

I'm blaming it on the mate bond cause as soon as he spoke those words, I wanted to reach out and comfort him, "I'm sorry I have no right to judge you. I'm just confused and I know it's no excuse to be rude to you. Let's get out of here and then we'll see how this goes. Okay?"

"It's okay I'm used to people treating me like a mutt, I just thought that my mate would be different."

"You can't say that when you have also treated me ungratefully." He scoffed them looked away from me.

That hurt, hearing him say that. He shouldn't get used to people treating him awfully and I wasn't an exception.

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay, mate."

My breathe hitched at that.

He looked at me panicking," I'm sorry I said that. It just felt right. You know......"

"I understand Hades."

"Gabriel."

"What?"

"Call me Gabriel. I prefer that one."

"Okay Gabriel. There's a door that leads outside of the palace. We can use that and see how many they are and we might get help. I'm sure our packs can handle a couple of rogues. Let's go."

We left the office using a passage that my grandfather showed me. Hades followed me. I used to hide from them when I was young and needed space. He showed me more places so that the servants had a hard time finding me. Hilarious at that time,  now it was very helpful.

We reached the end and saw that the place was indeed surrounded. These wolves even had guns, no doubt with silver and wolfsbane bullets. I looked at Hades," we have to find a way to tell grandpa. This is definitely planned, why are they so many?"

Just then I get a hint of a scent, I look towards it and imagine my surprise when I see Xander and Demitris. They were with some other people and I'm sure there is a witch with them. They couldn't have broken the magical barrier without help.

"No, this isn't real." I try to move from there, just for Hades to hold me down.

"What is wrong with you? Are you that ready to die?"

"Let go of me! He's my mate and he's standing with our enemy. How is he here? I need to know." I tried fighting against him but it wasn't helping.

"I'm also your mate and I'm telling you to leave it."

"Yeah a second chance, he's my first. He'll always be my first."

"Fuck, you are have a way with your words. I'm not going to stop you, I'm sure Everest has already sensed them so do whatever is it you want. I'm done." He turned back and went the way we had come.

Hearing that from him was painful, but not as painful as seeing my mate beside someone who destroyed our lives.

I'd get my answers but right now I had to protect my elder, grandfather Everest. He was most likely the target of all this. They were mad crazy if they thought I'd let them lay a hand on him.

I just hoped  Hades had the patience for me.
