Kalter Regen Fällt
(A/N: It's almost eight and school comes early tomorrow morning...but I wanna write something. I just don't know what) WC: 2046
Taehyung was crying as he ran out of the gingerbread house, Namjoon hot on his heels. Kandee offered a lollipop before the humans could follow the mages. They looked at her in bewilderment, slightly offended that she would ask them such a question.
"Why would we take anything from you?"
"He loves lollipops." That's all she said as she gave Yoongi a bubblegum pink sucker before ushering them out, wishing them safe travels. Kandee was leaning against the curved doorway twirling a striped candy cane in her mouth as she saw the humans run after their little mages who had disappeared into the forest. Leaping onto the last two remaining horses and galloping away into the small streaming beams of afternoon sun.
"Come out come out wherever you are~" The witch sing-songed as she surveyed the surrounding forest. Tracing the deep etched lines of the dusky bark of the monstrous trees and letting her gaze flit from the dark abyss beyond to the thick canopy of trees that only allowed slight beams of light to trickle through.
"I did what you asked me to do, although it wasn't very difficult." There was nothing but silence in return to her echoing voice. "My little cricket where are you lurking? If you don't come out and I have to go out and find you...you won't get any lollipops~ "
Almost as if on cue, a figure shadowed in a scarlet cloak stepped out from the treeline. Head downcast, but the red hair and crimson ringed eyes were irrefutable. He looked over his shoulder in telltale paranoia, seemingly thinking the king and his court were going to return, find him, and drag him all the way to the dungeons.
"Jiminie cricket! My favorite little Mutineer!"
By the time the mage turned around, the amazon of a witch was already pinching his cheeks and cooing. Loudly praising him for merely existing while the other was fighting off her grabby clawed hands. Silently cursing his choice in friends, until he remembered that its better to have Kandee as a friend then a foe...and he liked her candy.
"Get off me," Eventually Jimin was able to push her prodding hands away from his face, grunting at the effort of removing her overly muscular arms. She just tsked and said something about him being no fun. Before the red head could rant about her overly touchy welcomes, he was faced with a bright pink lollipop. His favorite.
Jimins greedy little hands went to grab the delicious candy, only for it to end up high up in the air, far from his reach. The younger made a whine of protest, but she just smirked and jerked her head in the direction of her sugary home.
"You will never believe what I just found out."

After being within the confines of the deepest, darkest parts of the forest, it's easy to lose track of time. Maybe it was the overwhelming amounts of magic that had woven themselves within the forest centuries ago, or maybe the way the sunlight didn't even reach the ground, but time just slipped from your grasp. Yoongi didn't even realize it was pouring rain until the canopy thinned out and the sun was still nowhere to be found, for it hid behind the thick veil of clouds and magic.
He was pushing Haemaru to her limits, galloping through the rain that was gradually getting heavier as he made it closer and closer to the edge of the forest. The pellets of water were oddly cold and caused the monarchs clothes to stick to his skin even though his cloak. He internally cursed himself for refusing to wear his thicker cloak, he didn't want to sweat his ass off but now he was paying the price with soaked to the bone clothing and ice-cold skin.
The trees passed by in a blur as his surroundings started to thin out, his vision tunneling as to only include what was in front of him. Eventually the dull thrum of rain drowned out all his thoughts, the water that Haemaru kicked up with every clamoring step became nothing but background noise in his quest to find his missing friends.
Yoongi didn't know how he and Hoseok got separated, but he was alone in his ride to find his friends or even the citadel, whatever came first. But even as the leaves gave way for grey skies and freezing pellets of water, the monarch felt like he was going in circles. The curtain of rain was shrouding his vision as it continued to come down in sheets. The rain feeling more and more like little pill-sized ice hitting his bare face and vulnerable skin. Yoongi's teeth were chattering and the tips of his fingers were gradually becoming more numb as he continued to gallop through the forest.
Several times the king had to yank his reigns violently to the side as a tree trunk appeared of out the dark void of rain, Haemaru whinnying in protest and she nearly slipped on the muddy earth on numerous occasions. The dull thrum of the showers were becoming more akin to pounding drums, matching the growing ache in the ravenettes temples.
It wasn't supposed to shower today. It's still summer, so why is it pouring frigid rain?
Yoongi felt his body numb further, muscles stiffen, and clothes clutch his flesh like a second skin. He didn't even have the strength to move his arm up to push his fringe back, just accepting the raven further obscuring his already limited vision. The droplets seemingly sucked his energy from his very being, the monarch pushing the exhaustion from the forefront of his mind.
Haemaru couldn't run for much longer, Yoongi didn't even know how long they had been traveling for. But the king wasn't just about to give up, that is until a figure appeared right in front of his path. The pair was barreling towards the cloaked figure at an alarming speed, so much so that the monarch had to pull his whole body backwards in an attempt to stop the sprinting horse from plowing over the man.
The dark beast whickered loudly as she reared back with the shadowed man just mere inches away from her deadly hooves. He didn't move, nor did he speak, not that Yoongi could hear with the howling winds and hammering rain. Instead, he pressed forward. Haemaru seemingly spooked by the lithe figure, starting to back track, rear legs stepping onto an odd texture of ground. Then-
Crack.
It was heard even over the deafening wind and biting rain, the loud crack of wood snapping, and before Yoongi knew it, he was falling backwards, and fast.
Haemaru let out a shrill neigh as she attempted to pull herself up, forgetting about the male that was stationed on her dorsal. Survival instincts kicking in as she kicked and thrashed, leaving Yoongi to grasp at her bucking back. Who knows, maybe the king would have made it out with her as well, if not for the iron grip around the back of his cloak. Suddenly the feeling of leather and short hair was gone from beneath him, and a searing pain ignited within his scalp. The figure grabbing a handful of hair as well and his hood, yanking the king down and all but throwing him to the floor.
The cloaked male let gravity do his bidding as the rest of the wooden grid broke upon contact with the humans falling body, and with only a brief fleeting feeling of a solid structure beneath him, Yoongi fell down the hole that was hidden beneath the trap. Spiraling down several feet before his side made a harsh reunion with the ground.
Intense pain shot up his side, spreading through his body like a wildfire and dislodging a guttural scream from deep within his gut. Tears pricked at his eyes, burning hot against his cool pallor as a lump formed at a rapid pace in his throat, restricting whatever breath he had left after it got knocked out of him from the fall. The pain was so blinding that Yoongi wasn't even pondering whether or not he had broken his bones, he just curled in on himself pulling strained whimpers from his sore throat in a pitiful act to shelter himself.
The king had never felt weaker than he did then, curled up in a fetal position as the rain pelted his already numb flesh. Clothes caked in mud and laying in dirty puddles of frigid water, his cloak doing anything but its intended purpose. The monarch was vulnerable as he felt his body shut down in shock and pain. No longer was he the imposing king that put others in their place with nothing but a mere glance, now he was curled up at the bottom of a pit feebly trying to hold back tears. The ravenette wasn't as invincible as others had perceived him to be.
Yoongi soon couldn't find it in himself to fight back the dam of tears that threatened to fall, just letting broken sobs break the air past his chapped lips and rack his equally broken body. Mind too fried to comprehend simple questions, like-
Why was I pushed into a hole in the ground? Why is it raining in summer? Why is said rain so fucking cold? And most importantly, who pushed him down here?
Yoongi pressed his head against the softened earth, releasing another heart-wrenching screech. Parting his lips and letting his raw throat and splitting lips try and take away some of the attention from his aching body. The monarch felt broken, battered and bruised. He felt mud smear across his face as he tried to distract himself from the searing pain that seemed to have no source, just simply encasing his whole body as one large entity.
What did I do to deserve this?
That was his one torturing thought that seared just as brightly as his pain, other whirling thoughts spinning his head like how a spinning wheel twists thread. Yoongi could feel the heavy pressure of eyes on the back of his head, and he almost didn't have enough energy to turn his head to meet the demanding gaze.
His vision was blurry and distorted, fresh rain mixing with salty tears as he attempted to zone in on his perpetrators face. But all he could focus on was those eyes, a deep ebony that were rimmed with a thick curve of crimson. They shone so bright against the monochrome background of the pouring rain and grey skies, he could tell as much even through the kaleidoscope of tears that wouldn't stop falling. They were purposefully empty, showing no empathy or emotion as they gazed upon Yoongi's crumpled, meek figure.
The king had no idea what he did, but suddenly those eyes shattered. Emotion flooding in and so much commotion it'd be too hard to pinpoint even one. Worry, anxiousness, regret, guilt, remorse, hurt, pain-
He wasn't even the one in the bottom of a pit, freezing on the outside and burning up in agony on the inside. Yoongi didn't even break eye contact as he let he head drop down with a light plop on the moistened sludge. Reveling in the feeling of his numb flesh being assaulted with bullets of freezing water, before a sudden peace smoothed itself over his sweltering insides like a cool balm. The ravenette let himself become engulfed in the tidal waves of darkness that ebbed consciousness from his mind. Facial features becoming lax before he fully succumbed to the abyss of unconsciousness, letting an icy cool warmth sweep over him before it seeped into his very being. He was weightless...then, nothing.
(A/N: I don't know if I've already said this, but this plot line for Yoongi ending in a hole and so fourth, was a last minute addition after I had the biggest epiphany ever. I just had this idea and its rather long, not to mention it'll add like 10 or more chapters to this...but I couldn't not do it and you'll see why, in due time. :))
