Dedications
There are so many people who have influenced me and my writing through this whole process. I'd like to take a moment to dedicate this book to them. I've split the chapters up into their respective arcs (since 100 is a lot of chapters to dedicate, lol). Please give all of these wonderful people some love for their support!
Origins, UA High, and USJ Arc: bewiitching
You are truly such a kind soul, and it makes me so happy to see your comments. It's been a pleasure getting to know you as a friend. It's for dedicated readers like you that I'm grateful for putting myself out there and publishing my book. The initial arc is so important for both author and reader to commit to a story. I thank you immensely Vi for standing by me!
Sports Festival Arc: sd1229
To my action-oriented friend, I always think of you when it comes to the Sports Festival. In a first real attempt at action and battle writing, I have to thank you for your constant hype. You are the reason I've wanted to branch out with more Sports Festival inspired projects and improve my action sequences. I wish I had met you sooner, but I know that, should I ever rewrite this arc, it will be made better by the influence you've had on me.
Internships Arc: aBitGrim
You always inspire me to explore the extras in the background, so what better arc to include Shinso and Nyikang? You've given me so much support in this arc, from the hype for Koto's performance to supporting her friendship with Shinso. Before publishing these chapters, I was worried that people would stop reading because I pushed Koto to the background, but after meeting you and growing fond of your characters, I know that the background baddies are just as interesting and even more fun to play around with. I'm incredibly grateful that I didn't change this arc because of the support and inspiration you give me to think out of the box and have fun with what I write.
Final Exams Arc: StupidHufflepuff
You're truly amazing, Noel. I have to thank you immensity for all the help you always offer when it comes to the server and projects. You are so bright and creative with your own projects and ideas. Not only that, but you're willing to look on the brightside for us when it sometimes becomes too difficult to do so. It's for this reason that I dedicate the Final Exams Arc to you: as a reminder to all of us what we can do when we allow ourselves to lean on our friends and trust each other. I know that you always have my back, and you can trust that I'll always have yours, Noel. You're a great friend and a fantastic person.
I-Island Arc: sun_jin
SJ, you always inspire me to follow my instincts and never stop working hard on what I love. This was an arc I truly had fun writing because of all the character interactions. It reminds me of your work and how lovable and authentic all the characters seem with one another. This arc was my attempt at what you always do so beautifully, along with a bit of chaos that I know you love to add. I really got into the zone while writing this arc, in a very similar way to how I feel when writing or drawing your characters. There is such a flow to what you create that makes it fun and gratifying for others to work with. I look forward to the next time we get to collaborate!
Training Camp Arc: eVolution04
Mama Toco!!!!! You are THE most supportive person, and it always makes me so happy talking with you about my story. You keep me inspired to continue on when you ask for updates and always give me hype for each new chapter. I remember you speed-reading to catch up so you could read the updates as soon as I posted them. You've been so passionate about my story, which is something I really hoped I would see in my readers when I wrote this chapter. I knew I would be going into a section that diverged from the main MHA storyline, and I worried a lot that my readers would lose that enthusiasm, but if anything, you hyped me up more. I'm incredibly grateful for your continued support and constant hype.
Secrets In America Arc: Juni_Penguin_
This was a section of the book I was most anxious about writing. It was my huge plan to get to this arc because I was so excited about the storyline. However, I was also incredibly nervous. I wasn't sure how many people would continue reading after I diverted so heavily from the canon storyline. While plenty of my other friends have bolstered my confidence in carving my own path, it was truly you, Jun, that kept my confidence going in this arc. You boldly struck out to make your own way in the MHA fandom, creating your own hero school and entirely new plot, the quality of which is unlike anything else I've seen here. You accomplished this with such poise and grace, unwavering in your constant stride forward. Your work sticks with me and reminds me to take those chances because it's what I like, rather than catering to the expectations I often face.
Ballet and Festival Arc: JunieWeathers
Junie, you have helped with this arc more than you can possibly know. Not only am I thankful for your patience with ballet facts and actual instruction, but your excitement truly got me through this book. This whole section had me stumped for a good long while. It was the source of the majority of my writer's block, as I had already finished the chapters I had initially planned for this book and didn't have much of a plan after this. I had an idea for the ending, but wasn't as excited to get there and was just about ready to let the story drop. However, when it came up in discussion that there would be scenes at Koto's dance recital, you were definitely the most enthused. You helped me reignite the spark I once had for this story and single-handedly saved it from being discontinued. I thank you immensely, Junie.
Joint Training Arc: -butterfly--effect-
You. Are. Amazing. Butterfly! I really can't express how awesome you are when it comes to your memory of all of our stories. You see the threads of plot as they come together at the end in just the way I want my readers to see them. I love your analyses on what I've written and how you recall Koto growing through the story. This is such a big crescendo towards the end that I knew I had to dedicate this section to you and that beautiful mind of yours that is always so engaged and passionate. Thank you for your constant dedication, Bfly!
Work Studies/War Arc: UAStorytellers
I truly wouldn't be where I am now if not for the Storytellers. This amazing group of writers, artists, and fans has accepted me and always supported my growth as a writer. It's because of them that I have made all these wonderful friends, that I'm working on other projects past Muted Voices, and that I'm daring to grow as an artist as well. They inspire me to push beyond the mold of what is expected from fanfiction and always remind me to go with my heart and be original. I love this community so much, and I really can't express enough my gratitude for being a part of it.
These fantastic people and many more have supported me in this story, and I adore each and every person who has picked up this book. You all took a chance on a silly story that I wrote in my free time and helped me make it into something more. I love you guys so much for that.
You've all given me the confidence to continue writing past this passion project, and I hope you'll give my other projects a shot too.
Stay lovely, my friends!
