Today I got into a multi car pileup on the drive home from school. I was stopped in a traffic light line and two cars collided behind me, pushing me into the truck in front. Everyone walked away from it fine, but I learned a thing or two. 

Today really could have been so much worse. If people involved hadn't been wearing seat belts, serious injury or even a death might have occurred. Not only would that have deeply hurt several families, but a high schooler could have been walking around with blood on their hands.

But if it had been my time to go, I have to wonder if I'd be ready. I definitely worry that I might not accomplish all that I want to in life. I may never get to publish a book, or see the rain forest, or go skiing in Canada. 

But the point is, I do have what I need. I try to be kind to others. I have a good family situation. I try to be a positive influence on the world. If it really was my time to go then, I think I could have accepted it. 

As it is, I still have my whole life ahead of me. And I plan to do some good with it. Hopefully get that book published, see that rain forest, and shred those Canadian slopes. Life's a short ride, so enjoy it while it lasts.
