A variety of songs sounding like other songs
Modern Times Rock N Roll - Queen : references a Chuck Berry song "with the temperature down and the jukebox blowing no fuse" is like Roll Over Beethoven's line, "the jukebox blowing a fuse". Also, when he sings " listen little baby, let me tell you what it's all about" it sounds like a part of an Aretha Franklin song (I can't remember which)
Some Day One Day - Queen : this has a similar folky Led Zeppelin-esque sound, and reminds me of I Am The Walrus, with the line "when I was you and you were me and we were very young " and reminds me of, " I am he as you are me.."
Get Down, Make Love - Queen : the experimental theme and sound effects have a similar vibe to Why Don't We Do It In The Road . And like the instrumental/screaming part of Whole Lotta Love.
My Melancholy Blues - Queen : the theme of this is similar to Stormy Weather, an old jazz song.
Back Chat - Queen : The chords and theme is very close to Jolene by Dolly Parton. ("he talks about you in his sleep" / "you're talking in your sleep and walkin' in a daze")
Scandal - Queen : the theme about the press getting into personal lives is like that of Devil's Radio by George Harrison.
Let Me In Your Heart Again - Queen: the theme and a few lyrics remind me of Tracks Of My Tears by Smokey Robinson, which Brian was said it was his favourite song, according to an interview from 1989.
Hammer To Fall - Queen: it has a similar line to an old jazz song, "Bye Bye Blackbird" which says "make my bed and light the lights." And Brian's song goes "make the bed, light the lights." He would've likely listened to that music as a kid.
---
I've Got Friends In Holy Spaces - P!ATD : this sounds a lot like Queen's "Good Company", especially with the clarinets and ukulele. Brendon Urie has talked about how Queen's A Night At The Opera influenced him.
Pretty. Odd. (Album) - P!ATD : this whole album sounds Beatles-esque. Some of them sounding like Strawberry Fields Forever. And kinda Your Mother Should Know harmonies.
From A Mountain In The Middle Of The Cabins is similar to Lovely Rita or Good Company, or music-hall songs from Queen or the Beatles.
Behind The Sea sounds like Jingle Bell Rock at the end.. and A Day In The Life.
Folkin' Around is a mix of '39 and I've Just Seen A Face.
Nine In The Afternoon reminds me of Paul's section in A Day In The Life ("woke up, got out of bed..")
Northern Downpour is pretty, like Across The Universe, but faster. And it has the repeated melody ("hey moon, please forget to fall down...")
---
Mr. Blue Sky - ELO : also very Beatles. Specifically Martha My Dear and Good Day Sunshine.
--
Magneto And Titanium Man - Wings/Paul McCartney : this one shares a technique with Bohemian Rhapsody (even though it came out near the same time), when it says "that was due to happen at a quarter to three in the main street" starting at 0:30-0:34 is like "I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me."
---
Welcome To The Black Parade (Album) - My Chemical Romance : the guitar solos have a very Brian May sound to it, especially in the title track and I Don't Love You.
---
Heartbreaker - Led Zeppelin : during the guitar solo, it sounds like I Want You (She's So Heavy). Just for a bit.
------
Helpless - Lin-Manuel Miranda : this one has the line "you walked in and my heart went boom," close to I Saw Her Standing There ("well my heart when boom, when I crossed that room")
You'll Be Back - Lin-Manuel Miranda : the title reminds me of I'll Be Back , by the Beatles.
The Story Of Tonight - Lin-Manuel Miranda : the melody sounds like the chorus of Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
----
True Colors - Cyndi Lauper : the instrumental part before singing sounds a bit like The Long And Winding Road at the instrumental of that song.
---
Take A Chance On Me - ABBA : this one has the energy of Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.
-------
Sweet Painted Lady - Elton John : in the chorus, it has the same progression in a different key as I'm So Tired.
