Chapter 3 Saotome Academy Performance, Part 2

3rd person's POV

Each girl has now made up their mind on which song they'd like to perform for their class, and now go ask for the assistance of some of the guys who offered to help them.

~Shay's POV~

I finally chose one song I'd like to sing! Man, it was a really hard decision, I love so many songs, but I think this is a good one, I think to myself as I head over to Tokiya to go accept his offer for helping.

"Hey Tokiya, I wanted to ask you something!" I went up to the cool dude who looked at me in return.

"What is it? Do you have a song ready now?," the dark bluenette inquired.

"Yup, and I'd like to ask for your help if that's ok?," I pleaded, hoping that he'll help me with this song.

He sighed, and replied, "Sure, I did offer to help, so what's the song?"

"I want to do "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran, and I was wondering if you'd like to sing it with me?"

Tokiya seems to go over the song, and says, "You're lucky I know this song, I'll help with you if the teachers allow it," and softly smiles. I swear, I felt my heart almost stop at such a smile.

"Thank you so much!!," I squeal and pull him with me towards my classroom. I can't wait to sing a duet with Tokiya, and I can already feel an urge to just squeal, but then I get the sudden nerves as the realization hit me; I'd be singing in front of people, and possibly get graded on my performance! I try not to think about it, and calm myself with the thought that Tokiya would be singing with me, and knowing his drive for being perfect, he'd help me out during the song.

~Musical's POV~

I mull over which song I want to do, since I liked a lot of songs, until I finally made a decision. Not feeling confident in my own playing skills, I turn a corner where I wouldn't be seen, and conjure up some music sheets with the song I'd like to sing. I walk back to the gang, and see Masato just keeping to himself, while Natsuki was and breathe to myself, and walk over to them.

"Hey Masato, Natsuki?" I called out to them as they both looked at me, and Natsuki said "Hey Mus-chan, what's the matter?"

"Do you think you guys could possibly play the song "Make you Feel my Love" by Adele? I wanted to do this song, but I'm not confident in playing it, and I heard that you can play the viola," I said while pointing to Natsuki, and then pointed to Masato, saying, "and you played the piano, and I thought that would be a nice combination."

Natsuki immediately replies "That sounds great!! I'd love to help you out by playing the viola Mus-chan, what do you say Masa-chan?"

Masato looked at me, pondered the idea, and said "That sounds like an interesting idea. Do you have the music sheets by any chance?"

I said "Yup! I got them from my room, just in case you both agreed. Thank you so much!!" I said while smiling.

Natsuki came over and glomped me, saying "Uwaahhh, you're welcome Mus-chan!!"

I blushed at the immediate hug, and suddenly felt Natsuki let go, and saw Masato, who said "Be careful Natsuki, you don't want to crush Musical."

"It's ok, I don't mind Masato, and thank you very much as well," I said while going to hug Masato, who froze from the sudden embrace. "Oh, I'm sorry, " I said while letting go, apologizing for my sudden actions, and notice Masato blushing, stuttering out "I-It's fine."

"Let's go now, since class is almost starting!" I say as I pull the arms of the two boys and head towards Tsukimiya's classroom.

~Moonlight's POV~

I finally made up my mind on which song I'd like to perform, and I thought a combination of the guitar and violin would be nice. I also noticed Musical sneak off from the group and go around a corner. I assumed that she was probably going to go make some music sheets for the song she'll perform. Deciding to do the same thing, I also try to leave the group, and manage to succeed to do so, and turn around another corner and think of some music sheets for a guitar and violin player. The sheets fully appeared in my hands, and I dash out from the corner and look for the red head and the blondie I wanted to help me.

"Hey Otoya! Syo!" I yell towards them, and they look up in surprise and come running towards me as well. "You called us, Moonlight?" the short (hehe, sorry Syo XD) blond said.

"Uh-huh, remember how you two offered to help either one of us three with our performance? I wanted to take you guys up on your offer, and wanted to try out this song with you two, since I heard you're a violinist and Otoya here is a guitarist from the guitar pick necklace, " I say while pointing at Otoya's necklace which held a guitar pick in it. The two boys nodded, confirming my statements to be true.

"Sounds like fun! Right, Syo-kun?," said Otoya with a beaming smile.

"Yeah, I think I'd like to help you out and play the violin alongside you two, " said Syo as his lips curled up into a smile. Awww, they are both so cute! I feel so happy right now.

Without holding myself, I hug the two boys, saying "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" and giggle, while blushing slightly.

Syo blushes, and stammers, "I-It's alright, you should know that we'd definitely help you just by asking"

Otoya nods in agreement and says "Yup, and I'm excited that I'll get to play with you and hear your voice!!"

I blush at the statement, and say "yeah hehe, looks like we're working together already," and laugh.

"So what song do you want us to play for you?," the two boys asked.

"I was thinking maybe we could do "Counting Stars" by One Republic, " I asked.

"Oh! Sure, we can do that!," chirped Otoya.

"Do you have the music sheets?," asked Syo.

"Yeah, I do! Let's go now, class is about to start!," I said, and grab the two boys and rush toward my classroom.

~Third person's POV~

The trio and the selected boys arrive at the door of the classroom, just in time before the bell rang. Ringo Tsukimiya looked at the large group and asked, "Are you three girls ready for your performance?"

The three nodded, and Shay spoke up, saying "We're ready, but we wanted to know if you'd allow for us to have some accompaniments from these guys here," and gestures to the boys.

"Two are from another class, but offered to accompany us in the song we'd do," added Moonlight.

Ringo thought about it, and agreed, saying "That's fine, as long as you yourselves perform. Also, we're to meet outside on the gardens of the Academy, where you will be seen by all of the students, so it's alright if the boys here aren't all from my class," and smiles. "We've already prepared a stage outside while you all had your lunch"

"Oh ok, great!," said Musical. "We hope you like our songs."

Ringo then cleared his throat, and called out to the whole class, saying "Okay everyone, we are to go outside to the gardens where we'll see the three new students give us a performance and show us what they've got!"

The whole class got up, and followed Tsukimiya outside to the gardens, and sure enough, a big stage was prepared, and some instruments were placed near the ends of the stage, allowing the boys to get their respected instruments. In addition, there were large speakers, and other devices that would allow a karaoke to play if no instruments were to be played.

The three girls let out a shaky breath, and waited until they'd be announced to go up and sing.

It is until everyone is outside that confetti falls, and from the top of the school a familiar laugh can be heard from the principle, who leaps into the air, and does spins in the air until he lands safely onto the ground. "Good afterrrnoon!! As you can also see, we are to witness the three new students perform today at this moment! Now, we shall see who goes first!!"

~Musical's POV~

The principle starts spinning round and round, and points his finger at me. "You! Miss Musical, please go up to the stage!"

I breathe in, and out, and get ready to go onto the stage. Sure, I've done a good amount of performances, but at times I can get involuntary nerves, and I wonder what they'll think of my overall singing. I suddenly feel the presence of two hands on both my shoulders. I look behind me to see Masato and Natsuki who gave me encouraging eyes. They must have sensed my involuntary nerves, I thought.

Natsuki said "Don't worry Mus-chan, you'll do great!"

Masato added, "Yes, you have nothing to be nervous of, and we shall do our best."

I smile at them, and head up to the stage where I got in front of the mic, Natsuki had is viola ready, and Masato had his hands poised over the piano keys. With a look of readiness from the two, we began.

I relaxed at the sound of Masato's playing, and got into the mood and feelings of the song.

When the rain is blowing in your face,
And the whole is on your case.
I could offer you a warm embrace,
To make you feel my love

I then imagine a stormy sky that cleared to show a dark midnight blue heaven filled with endless sparkling stars, and sang the next verse

When the evening shadows and the stars appear,
And there is no one there to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I lost myself in the song once again, as I heard Masato's fingers work their magic and paint the scenery. Soon enough, Natsuki joins in with his viola, giving the whole area and setting a broader feeling, his viola crying along with the song.

I know you haven't made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong.
I've known it from the moment that we met. No doubt in my mind where you belong

Eyes grow hungry I go black and blue,
I go crawling down the Avenue
No there's nothing that I wouldn't do
To make you feel my love

I relax myself, and hold onto the mic. While I sing, I hear the boys sing along with me, harmonizing and thus developing the song even more.

The storm's are raging on the rolling sea
And on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain't seen nothing like me yet

I could make you happy make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel my love,
My eyes start to close, as I sing the last words:
To make you feel my love.

I open my eyes and see the students applauding, and I spy Moonlight-chan and Shay-chan shouting and jumping, and smile at them. I look back to Natsuki and Masato, and smile at them happily. Natsuki smiles widely while Masato let's out a gentle smile, both making my heart patter. I turn back and bow down with them, and say through the mic "Thank you very much!," and go down the stairs.

The principle now jumps onto the stage and shouts "Aaaalllright, so we've heard one of our new students, and nows the time for the second singer!! And the next girl is," he says, and does his spin, until he lands on...

Shay-chan! I wish you the best, I thought, smiling.

~Shay's POV~

I was caught up in the happiness I felt from hearing Musical sing that I didn't notice I was called up to sing next.

W-What?!! Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh, I said to myself, and start walking up to the stage slowly. That's when I felt a hand behind my back pushing me gently to go up, and I look around to see that it was Tokiya, who looked at me, saying "Go on, don't let yourself fall into the nerves, you're going to do well. I'll help you as best as I can up there. I want you to do your best, and I will do my best as well."

I smile at him trying to comfort me, and say "Thanks, I'll definitely give it my all," and punch the air randomly, and immediately pull it down, thinking, Woops, I think I'm being a little too out there, eheheh. I only see Tokiya shake his head and laugh silently to himself, revealing his smile. I almost wanted to say to him not to laugh, but bit my tongue, and blushed slightly.

I went up the stage, and Tokiya mentioned to the tech crew that we would be using karaoke, and microphones to just sing. I got close to one of the microphones, and heard Tokiya's footsteps come close by next to me where he took the other microphone.

That's when we looked at each other, smiled, and nodded, listening to the music play.

I started singing

Loving can hurt
Loving can hurt sometimes
But it's the only thing that I know

When it gets hard
You know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive

That's when I hear Tokiya joined in and harmonized with me, our voices dancing with each other.

We keep this love in a photograph
We make these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Hearts are never broken
Time's forever frozen still

So you can keep me inside the pocket of your ripped jeans
Holding me closer till our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone
Wait for me to come home

Soon I back off and let Tokiya take the spotlight for a bit, and listen to his sweet voice.

Loving can heal
Loving can mend your soul
And it's the only thing that I know, no

I felt the eyes of Tokiya glancing at me, and I look towards him, our eyes connecting as he sang:

I swear it will get easier.
Remember that with every piece of you
Mmmm and it's the only thing we take with us when we die

That's when I came back in, and our voices connected once more.

Mmm, we keep this love in a photograph
We make these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Hearts are never broken
Time's forever frozen still

That's when I held onto the mic, and looked out to the audience, the students who were waving their hands side to side, while I swayed to the rhythm of the song, singing the finale with Tokiya

So you can keep me inside the pocket of your ripped jeans
Holding me closer till our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone

And if you hurt me
Well that's ok baby only words bleed
Inside these pages you just hold me
And I won't ever let you go
Wait for me to come home

I let go of the mic, and hear the applause of the students, and smile immediately, the energy inside me wanting to come out. I look to my side and see Tokiya smiling warmly, and I see Musical and Moonlight cheering loudly, and I suddenly say thank you to the crowd and go run over to my friends and hug them tightly.

The principle goes back to the stage, and says "Woonderrrrrful!!! Now we need our last student to come up here!! Please welcome Moonlight!!!"

"Good luck Moon-chan, you can do this," I tell her.

"You've got this in the bag!," added Musical-chan, and we usher her up to the stage.

~Moonlight's POV~

Oh man, after seeing Shay-chan and Musical-chan perform, I feel like I might mess up. I try calming myself, and don't notice Otoya and Syo coming towards me, and jump when I see Otoya waving his hand in front of me. "Oh, sorry, I just got lost in my thoughts," I say sheepishly.

"Don't sweat it Moonlight, you're going to do an awesome job!," said Syo, who raised his fist into the air, appearing pumped already. Awww, I really want to hug him badly right now, but I'll have to control myself for now, I thought.

We go up on the stage, and Syo goes to get a violin while Otoya gets hold of a guitar and places the strap over him. I walk towards the mic, and take one last breath to calm myself down. I look back towards the two boys, and they nod, letting me know they are ready whenever I am. That's when I grab the mic, and begin to sing.

(Imagine the song being played in a similar way with the guitar and violin, even though the guy here is doing it all by himself, I'll indicate when Syo comes in I guess XD)

Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars
Yeah, we'll be counting stars

Otoya starts jamming out to the song, and Syo plays his violin ever so swiftly, making the atmosphere become upbeat at once. I also start tapping my foot and move around a bit, my hair covering my eyes, and then I look up, singing:

I see this life like a swinging vine,
Swing my heart across the line
In my face is flashing signs,
Seek it out and ye shall find.

Old but I'm not that old
Young but I'm not that bold
And I don't think the world is sold
I'm just doing what we're told

And I feel something so right by doing the wrong thing
And I feel something so wrong by doing the right thing

I could lie, couldn't I, couldn't I?
Every thing that kills me makes me feel alive.

I start rocking out and feeling like I'm in my own world, and allow the rhythm of the music to move me.

Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars
Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be-we'll be counting stars

Yeah

I look at the crowd jumping up and down, also feeling the music, and continue singing

I feel her love
And I feel it burn down this river every time
Hope is our four-letter word, make that money watch it burn

Old but, I'm not that old
Young, but I'm not that bold
And I don't think the world is sold
I'm just doing what we're told

And I feel something so wrong by doing the right thing
I could lie, couldn't I, couldn't I?
Everything that drowns me makes me wanna fly

Once I sing the next phrases, I can hear Otoya and Syo sing the chorus along with me,

Feeling in the zone, I sing the next phrases with lots of energy

Oh, take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned

I relax, and sing the next words softly.

Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

And give it my all for the rest of the song, Otoya and Syo also just letting all of their energy out.

Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned

I stopped moving, and look at the students shouting and applauding, and hear the loudest cheers from Musical and Shay, who are hollering, and probably lost their voices at this time. I laugh, and look back and see Otoya and Syo also beaming happily at me, and I return my gaze to the audience, and thank them for hearing me, and go down the stage to where my friends where, and glomped them tightly while they hugged me back.

~Third person's POV~

The principle goes back onto the stage for a final time, and shouts "BRRRRRRAAAAVOOOOOO!!!! Excellent!! Let's give a big round of applause for our three new members, and hope that we shall keep seeing such excitement from them all, including you yourselves!! Be inspired to give it your all!!! You are now free for the rest of the day!!"

The students cheer once more, including the boys, the teachers, Haruka and Tomo-chan, who congratulated the trio, and hugged them for a job well done. The boys decided to make a bigger group hug, and almost squeeze the girls to death.

"G-Guys," gasped Musical.

"W-we c-can't," added Moonlight.

"B-B-Breathe!!!" finished Shay, and the gang let go of the girls, who filled their lungs with air. The group laughs it off, and the girls join in the laughter, happy that they did an amazing performance.

3832 words. That's how many words that have been typed not including this author's note XD I hope this didn't drag too much due to the many words, and I hope the song choices were good n.n Until the next update!!
